    This monitor had crazy promotions with buy 3 items get 20% off and that could be stacked with cash back and the HECA code for an extra 15% off. I got this monitor for around $864 which I think is a steal. I had the Alienware aw3423dw and switched to this monitor, no regrets. I no longer have a light controlled room for my office so the Alienware was getting too difficult to see with so much light (elevated blacks became an issue). The matte coating works perfect for my environment. Also super nice to have speakers built in for when I don’t want to use my iems or headphones. Burn in is covered by both the manufacturers warranty and the additional 2 or 3 year lg premium care warranty as I asked a LG rep myself. Love having hdmi 2.1 for my ps5 and Xbox series x too. I used to have a 270hz acer predator next to my aw3423dw for competitive fps games. Now, it’s everything I need in one monitor.
    Edit: I keep commenting trying to explain the promotions and cash back but my comments keep getting deleted.

      @@thepadster123 Non-issue for me on the FO32U2P for my use case (light controlled environment), which is basically the same panel. I personally think it's overblown just like how people were blowing up the matte coating on the LG. You will not notice the raised blacks at all when you are using it for regular use on color saturated content, which I would assume would be most of the time people use their screens. If there is any real nitpicking I can think of, the LG has some black crush that can be hard to fix and dulls shadow details, and the glossy screens can be harder to clean if you don't know how to do it properly (distilled water + clean microfiber towel).

    The reviews ive seen comparing the two models do highlight the ASUS's brighter image but from the camera's point of view, the LG's contrast meant you could see more detail in areas that are so bright on the ASUS that it hides detail. Glossy finish is frustrating as hell in my room with a window in it.
    Also, qd-oled just doesn't look right. The colors are overly saturated, and the motion feels choppy compared to staring at the woled. Hard to explain without seeing them side by side.
    You can see the color saturation on the PG32 in your side by sides. That richer color is less accurate. The reds are especially offensive. You're being fooled.

    I was considering the ASUS. But after their warranty fiasco covered by Gamer's Nexus I just can't support them anymore. Thought about the Alienware, but I remember the HORRIBLE reliability issues I had with them back in the day (thankfully their customer service was AWESOME, again, back in the day) so I've had them off my list for quite a while. We'll see how this monitor turns out.

    ASUS monitors are made with Samsung panels the last I checked. Samsung high end TVs use that glossy screen as well and it's a huge improvement over the matte.
    Samsung just teased new monitors coming out soon so I'm assuming it'll be a better version of that ASUS.

    qd oled feels like im playing on crazy good tv, this monitor feels like im playing on a gaming monitor. The colors are better on the qd oled but its not a deal breaker. The matt coating its not a big deal at all feels like all the other monitors ive owned. I got mine tax free for 1299 which is the same price after taxes for the AW3225qf, both amazing monitors whatever you can get a better deal for. For sure you need a high end pc im running a 7900xtx with 7800x3d it handels 4k easily. I wouldnt go below a rtx4080 or 7900xt with a 7800x3d and up.

    I feel ultrawide OLED monitors are relatively well priced, but 27" and 32" for $1000-2000 don't make much sense due to the lack of real estate. Also, as stated on your video, driving games at 4K and 240Hz is still some time away.

    ''DULL IN DESIGN'' WHAT! I love its design because of its super clean, professional looks. I love the design because it lacks all the 'Gaming' aesthetic. I enjoy gaming with my friends but I hate the typical RGB lights, shining a bright symbol onto my desk, I passed that age 30 years ago. I would pick the LG over the Gamer looks of the ROG if it had USB C, Dolby Vision and I'm undecided which screen type I prefer as I don't know which is more true to life.

    I had the asus on pre order and cancelled it. I ended up ordering the Alienware last week instead. With tax there was a $460 difference between the asus and the Alienware in my area. I couldn’t justify spending that much more just to get the asus. I’m hoping the Alienware won’t disappoint. I plan on keeping my asus pg27aqdm for my second monitor and for competitive games that might struggle to push 240hz at 4k. I would have liked to have the asus because it matched my setup better but just wasn’t worth it with such a big price difference.

    • @Dragostream
      @Dragostream Před 14 dny

      i don't think you did a great choice! for fps the alienware is curved (not the best for competitive), active cooling (soundy) and matte finish (horrible) !!! well yea the price is better but idk

    • @dustygood044944g
      @dustygood044944g Před 14 dny

      @@Dragostream I have had the pg27aqdm for over a year now. It’s been a rock solid monitor for me. I have not seen a qd oled in person yet to compare against it but I’ve been very happy either way. I’ll know the difference in a weeks time I guess when I get the Alienware and have them side by side. On another note, the Alienware is a glossy finish not matte……Also the Alienware does not have an aggressive curve like my old samsung g7 did so I don’t think I’ll have trouble adapting. Once my eyes got used to it I didn’t mind the agressive g7 curve either. Curved or flat is just a personal preference thing. Not really sure where the so called mistake lies though… saving $460 going with the Alienware and putting along side the existing monitor I have been very happy with just seems like the logical thing to do. Plus it freed up some money for a Dell monitor arm to go with it.
      Also every reviewer has stated the Alienware does not have any audible sound from the fan. And I game with a headset so that doesn’t matter to me unless there’s a fan failure down the road.

    • @Dragostream
      @Dragostream Před 13 dny

      @@dustygood044944g Your points about the DELL monitor are valid! However, I had the PG27AQDM monitor for 3 months and then I sold it, because the MATTE finish you don't realize how bad it is until you compare it to a GLOSSY one side by side made it look like a Full HD monitor, as it ruined the image quality so much. Definitely a monitor for competitive gaming, but with poor image quality. The dell yea is solid monitor
