Thanks for the nostalgia of "The Enchanted Forest". It reminds me of "Storybook Land" here in southern New Jersey, the only difference being that "Storybook Land" is still an active amusement park. The unseen creature in the woods was most likely a deer. It was probably as startled as you were!
I was very excited to see that you made it to security mall! I grew up around there and use to go all the time when it was more popular. Even seeing you at the old enchanted forest is awesome. They saved a few things but not a whole lot.

My stomping grounds have been in Howard County ever since 2010 and I'm really happy and excited that you're in Howard county some of the places you saw I've been at hundreds of times. You should come to the Columbia mall and do a meet-up
So you were in my neighborhood 3 years ago; sorry I missed you. 61 years ago I was 6 years old sitting on a pony at the original Enchanted Forest. I did research the new home where some of the structures stand and was going to do a video but then Covid-19 came along. Adam you are where I grew up! I used to go to the Enchanted Forest as a kid. I worked at York Steakhouse at Security Mall when I was in high school at Woodlawn Senior High which was later made famous in the Serial podcast. Once again Adam shows up in an unexpected location.

There is an Enchanted Forest in Old Forge, NY. It's still open. My grandparents use to take us there every year until we got sick of it. Now that I am older and only Grandma is still around and I wish we could go back and visit, but I live out of state now :(

Been fascinated with this property for years, Clark's Elioak Farm did save, restore & in some cases, recreate, a lot of the more important landmarks from the Enchanted Forest. Figures and buildings that those who frequented EF as children would remember and hold dear, have found a new home at Clark's Elioak Farm. They're hoping to obtain Old King Cole, as he is an original,& since he is bigger than is allowed by city standards on the sign (and was sort of grandfathered in) , if he comes down from the sign at any point for any reason, he can't go back up. Fingers crossed if that happens, the farm gets possession of him!!
Holy cow! I live in Oregon and no joke there is an amusment park less then five miles from where I live called Enchanted Forest, it opened in the late 1970's and it still in operation-seasonally- today by the family who built it, if you are ever in Salem Oregon, check it out.

I am out of tobacco.... not a tragedy for some.... but as a smoker (not heavy and not a deep inhaler... more for the oral gratification) for 40 years ... it's rough. I also have to figure out how to get a weeks worth of groceries for €3.00.... gonna buy a couple bags of flour at .32 cents, some oil, eggs and milk.... and live on pancakes tll the 29th..... so see, no matter HOW stressed you feel, someone always has it worse...... seriously though.... when you feel yourself being streched and pulled..... just take a little walk or drive for a few minutes.... take some deep breaths, and remind yourself... it won't last forever. You'll be okay, my friend.... just make time for yourself.... nothing wrong with it, and it helps keep you grounded. Hope things are better for you soon! Watching old Woo videos helps too!

Neat to see you in my old stomping grounds out in Howard County Maryland. I remember the Enchanted Forest before they tore it down. If you're in the mood, you should check out the Sandy Spring aerial park/forest. The Adventure Forest is the largest forest climbing park in the nation.
When I was a kid I got into that place and went in the top of the castle. There were boxes full of what looked like sensitive paperwork from some business. Also there were a ton of expired cans of dogfood everywhere that I assume Petco threw over the fence. No bears though..

How interesting. We have an Enchanted Forest not far from my home town here in Oregon (The park is right outside of Salem). It's pretty similar. Ours is open during the Spring/Summer months.

What!!!! That's nuts. My first job was at security square mall!! Lots of fond memories of the enchanted forest. I remember my mom taking us there in the late 70s/early 80s. I would always say...this is nothing like disney world! But it was a fun afternoon of running through the woods. Come to Glen burnie and I will take you to get crabby tots! Rated tots with crab dip on top.
So cool to see where Enchanted Forest was recreated. I actually used to go to the original park as a little girl and was kind of scared of some of the stuff...kind of creepy faces. Later, I took Shawn as a little kid before it closed. Went to Disneyland the other night, missed you !!!!
Very interesting Adam. There used to be an " Enchanted Forest " in Old Forge NY in the 50's and 60's. It was huge and would have live acts like The Wallenda's high wire act.
Next time you're in MD you should check out the old Glen Echo Park in Bethesda! I live less than five minutes away from it and I'd be happy to give you a tour any time.
Loved Enchanted Forest. Used to go at least once a month during open season each year during the early 70s. My Uncle used to work there and used to get in for free.
I have a memory of visiting The Enchanted Forrest once, back in the 60s, on a school trip. May have been 1st or 2nd grade. And the Mountain water slide. There should be some videos online of when the park was in operation.
With all you're amazing exploring, you and Dan Bell should do a compilation video of you're most scariest, heart thumping moments, would be very interesting.
Man I have memories of going here as a wee lad in the late 70's and early 80's. My dad always went to coin shows in Ellicott City and we would make a stop at The Enchanted Forest. It was a little run down towards the late 70's and 80's. Still, great memories.
Parents took me to Enchanted Forest and we took our kids there. Wish I had known that you where in Baltimore. I live on the east side of Baltimore (Essex).
Wow this really reminds me of the new of Mother Goose Land in My hometown of Canton, Ohio. It lay dormant and abandoned for years but now it's been revamped into a city park. A lot of local artists helped out, it's really cool :)
You need to head to western Maryland. My dad lives in Cumberland and I graduated from Allegany High School. It's on the very other side of the canal and I think you would enjoy the history!
Adam you missed most of the Enchanted Forest. I use to work at the Coldwell Banker at the shopping center. They knocked down most of it late summer early fall 2013. The castle you see at Clark's its just part of the Castle. It' s the left towel that is original. Most of it was to rotten to move. It is pronounced "El E oak" The dragon is the original.
So excited your in my area. Few things, Security mall has the only sweet and sour chicken I've ever seen at a chinese food places that's colored red, and Maryland has its own Big Foot that's supposedly 12 feet tall. It would be awesome if you could do a DC/MD meetup the next time you come around. Anyways, great vlog.

What!!!! That's nuts. My first job was at security square mall!! Lots of fond memories of the enchanted forest. I remember my mom taking us there in the late 70s/early 80s. I would always say...this is nothing like disney world! But it was a fun afternoon of running through the woods. Come to Glen burnie and I will take you to get crabby tots! Rated tots with crab dip on top.
So cool to see where Enchanted Forest was recreated. I actually used to go to the original park as a little girl and was kind of scared of some of the stuff...kind of creepy faces. Later, I took Shawn as a little kid before it closed. Went to Disneyland the other night, missed you !!!!

Very interesting Adam. There used to be an " Enchanted Forest " in Old Forge NY in the 50's and 60's. It was huge and would have live acts like The Wallenda's high wire act.

Loved Enchanted Forest. Used to go at least once a month during open season each year during the early 70s. My Uncle used to work there and used to get in for free.
I have a memory of visiting The Enchanted Forrest once, back in the 60s, on a school trip. May have been 1st or 2nd grade. And the Mountain water slide. There should be some videos online of when the park was in operation.

The gatehouse/castle was still at the shopping center a few years ago. I believe that was the
last piece moved off of the property.

Man I have memories of going here as a wee lad in the late 70's and early 80's. My dad always went to coin shows in Ellicott City and we would make a stop at The Enchanted Forest. It was a little run down towards the late 70's and 80's. Still, great memories.
Parents took me to Enchanted Forest and we took our kids there. Wish I had known that you where in Baltimore. I live on the east side of Baltimore (Essex).
Wow this really reminds me of the new of Mother Goose Land in My hometown of Canton, Ohio. It lay dormant and abandoned for years but now it's been revamped into a city park. A lot of local artists helped out, it's really cool :)
Reminds me of a mixture of Rock City figures and Santa's Land. I just went to Santa's Land yesterday and it was glorious
You need to head to western Maryland. My dad lives in Cumberland and I graduated from Allegany High School. It's on the very other side of the canal and I think you would enjoy the history!

Adam you missed most of the Enchanted Forest. I use to work at the Coldwell Banker at the shopping center. They knocked down most of it late summer early fall 2013. The castle you see at Clark's its just part of the Castle. It' s the left towel that is original. Most of it was to rotten to move. It is pronounced "El E oak" The dragon is the original.
So excited your in my area. Few things, Security mall has the only sweet and sour chicken I've ever seen at a chinese food places that's colored red, and Maryland has its own Big Foot that's supposedly 12 feet tall. It would be awesome if you could do a DC/MD meetup the next time you come around. Anyways, great vlog.
The REAL and original Enchanted Forest is in Salem Oregon. You should come up here and visit us, I would walking you through the park myself!! I go every year for my birthday, even at 40 I love it!!!!
