The MVC Collection was by far the one that did it for me. Never thought we'd get this. No longer will have to dig out my ps3 that has it downloaded to play this anymore. Lol

I'd like to see new 2D Metroids but after Dread I feel like Switch still isn't there yet to make large backdrops look good, whereas the pixelated games weren't limited by polygons

I fully agree. I'm finally excited for some stuff, which i haven't been in a while.
I'm kind of surprised by the mixed reaction from other youtubers, and some comment sections in general.
4 major nintendo IPs all represented (DK, Zelda, Mario, Metroid), mixed with tons of other stuff across a bunch of different genres... there was something for everyone, if not multiple things for everyone.
So much to be excited about from this direct. And most of them are games we will be playing in the next few months!

One of best presentations this year by far. I was surprised by so many announcements. Excellent job Nintendo. I'm not interested in every title, but there are quite a few I'm looking forward to, Dragon Quest III at the top of my list. Thanks for your video.
Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection is getting a physical release on Playstation, Steam and Switch but Xbox got screwed over for some reason ...better late than never !

Fyi there is a remastered version of turok on the e shop and every other console. The n64 version has a environmental fog that looks terrible. So if you like the 64 version maybe consider getting the new veraion (turok 2 and 3 are remastered as well)
I’ve been playing a lot of Zelda-likes as well, since TotK didn’t really do it for me. Top tier have been Tunic, Blossom Tales 2 middle of the road Bastion, Hob. Which ones have you been checking out?
This direct was amazing, so excited for the new Zelda, the new Metroid prime, new Mario and Luigi game, marvel v capcom collection and more! It was overshadowed, but the Mio game looked interesting as well, following after the Ori-style of metroidvania which I loved. Great video!

Great Direct! And I'm definitely a 2D Metroid fan. Super Metroid is in my top 10 favorite games of all time. That said, if the Prime series becomes more accessible then I'd be willing to try them out as I've only ever played about 30 minutes of the first one on GameCube.
2D or 3D-- I'm of the opinion that the first console to do 3D properly was the Dreamcast. Yeah, N64 had a few goods one, overall that generation jumped ahead to have 3D just for the sake of 3D.
Never been much of a Metroid player but I'd pick 2D.
I like the idea of a 3D Metroid, but I didn't want to buy a whole new console along with the game to play Metroid. So I never got the GameCube. That's what Nintendo did to the series along with Zelda and a few other games. They had one game for each system, to be fair, in order to let each person with only one Nintendo system play a Mario, Zelda or Metroid game. But it also felt like they were trying to make you buy an additional system in order to play the next chapter in the game. (Probably not, but whatever.) At any rate, I think Metroid is best played as a platformer and I would really, really like to see a 3D scrolling platformer for Metroid. Something like Einhander camera movements, or 2D platforming with a rotating world. That would be the best!
I love Metroid Fusion too, but have you played the the fan made AM2R Another Metroid 2 remake? My personal favourite Metroid game!

Metroid is like be great if they did the Zelda approach. Main line games that are in first person and the side scrolling games. Similar to Zelda how they did botw and Toto while also making games like links awakening and the most recent announcement. Both can co exist and we can all benefit!!!

The Prime series is Metroid perfection. It slightly edges out the 2D Metroids for me but I love those too. Why are you asking Metroid fans to pick their favorite children?!!

yea iam also a bit torn on the artstyle of the zelda game i will still try it out tho but the clear highlight was metroid prime 4 i have high hopes for this game and i hope they can deliver level design in a 3d environment is what makes or breaks a exploration game for me and prime 1 is unmatched in that regard imo although the sky level in prime 3 is one of my favorite levels in gaming

I'm so agree about Zelda 2, i finally it played about 3 years ago, Even my expectations were low i got amazed about the this title for nowdays , i'm happy to let myself gave a chance to this underated and misunderstand Game
dude i also freaking love zelda 2 its a lil nostalgic since i had the collectors edition on gc but never could understand n play it as a kid,but now wowww it had me on a chokehold for a couple days n yea i think i perfer it over like link in the past n etc tbh.

I feel like Metroid needs both 2D and 3rd person we need all the love in the Metroid franchise
MVC2 I already have the arcade but having it on switch is amazing, I’m more hype for the punisher as well.

I agree--the games announced are mostly ports or second-tier sequels, which is the Nintendo norm these days. Even Metroid Prime 4 was already known...and is still not coming out until 2025. So, yeah, that one is a false flag Nintendo used just to help save the show.
