    Been wearing barefoot shoes for one year now and it really improved my quality of life. My calves are a lot stronger, my feet and the muslces in my feet feel stronger, the tiny bunions (taylor bunions) I had are now slowly retracting. If you are curious about it, go for it.

    • @saramarencic6027
      @saramarencic6027 Pƙed 2 měsĂci +1

      @@kalithechamp1412 In my case the feet didn't get rougher, I don't see how they would bc the skin of your foot is not exposed to the ground/rough surfaces. Your foot is still protected in the barefoot shoe. I went for them fully and wear them every day. Some recommend to transition to barefoot shoes slowly, like with a minimalist shoe. Everybody has to decide on their own.
      Also - if rough feet are the price to pay for a healthier life, I'd take it. I would also wish for my partners to care more about my health than about how rough my feet are tbh.

    I have been wearing barefoot shoes for about a year, and I really hate going back to narrow shoes that squish my toes. It sucks that most sports I play require uncomfortable shoes to play at a higher level, and no brands make indoor shoes that are actually naturally shaped and wide in front.
    I can't deal with climbing shoes anymore, and volleyball shoes are painful to wear for long sessions.

    Barefoot shoes a massive win for human health and I'm happy to see some pushback against the long trend of constricting athletic shoes. My only hope is that the big sports shoe brands such as Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armour, Sketchers, etc., will notice this new concern for health and make competitively priced barefoot shoes. Unfortunately, right now it seems there's very few barefoot brands and they are all charging a premium price

    Switched about a month ago. I was having severe issues with my pinkie toe being smashed in and being glowing red every evening (actually had an operation to remove a bone spur, which eliminated the pain at one point, but just underlined the fact that the whole toe was actually suffering). That's been basically solved (though there's some turning of the toe from years of wearing shoes too small in the toes - hoping that gradually goes away). I was suffering major plantar fasciitis when I started. That's maybe 85% gone, but still not perfect. The relief in the toes makes it worth it for me.

    So basically scientists have determined our natural feet were “engineered” along with us being one of very few animals that can sweat.
    How do the correlate? Simple.
    With the design of our foot along with our ability to sweat, it’s projected we hunted animals by essentially gassing them out. Animals were faster than us, but with our foot design and sweating ability, we could pursue the animals for a very long time. By the time they’re completely gassed out, that’s when we could go after them a bit easier/more successfully.
    Notice how the mention of shoes helps makes us faster. That’s true. But technically speaking, we are all here today because our ancestors were long distance runners.

    I grabbed a pair off Amazon (Whitin) back in Oct 2022 and my foot pain is 95% gone, and no more knee pain, and the sciatic pain is gone too. It took about 2-4 weeks to get past the shoe pain, but I am a lot better for switching. That restless desperate feeling I was having from the sciatic pain was bad, it got to the point that I just learned to ignore it cause nothing worked. This week I stopped wearing house shoes to get my right foot stronger, its only been 2 days and I can feel the difference.

    Wow, I'm never gonna look at shoes the same way again, they cause to many problems to your feet, and even your upper body.

    Except when we were primarily barefoot people, we weren’t standing/walking/running on concrete, more often than not the ground would have some give. So the ground deforms itself and supports the arches as much as you need. Concrete doesn’t deform.

    We have around 7.000 nerve endings in the feet and around 3000 in our hands. The nerves of all of our organism ends in our extremities. So all the nerves of each and every organ meet there. So by using typical running shoes that won't let you spread as if barefoot, it will numb your feet and therefore loose sensitivity and conection to your own organism.
