Dr Choi is 100% in the right here. He gave the patient adequate care, tried to understand why the nurses were upset, showed empathy to Hank, and tried to find if his colleague did something reprehensible so he could help her not lose her job, all the while never understating what the patient did. Class act

An hour later we all learned that he had been on the run after having driven into a crowd of three people just half an hour previous to our call (his ex wife, child and a neighbor), injuring all of them. It was speculated, whether hitting the tree was a suicide attempt. We all had a moment of reflection upon learning that. Ultimately, I'm glad that I usually don't know, what the people I help have done up to that point. I'm also glad that I don't have to treat them for weeks or months, just until they get into the hospital. Doctors/nurses shouldn't take justice in their hands, that job is for lawyers and judges

The judges and lawyers didn't put him in jail tho? Would you have just let him molest more kids?

When lawyers and judges fail, justice falls to the people.
      Doctors are people.

In our nursing program at my university we are required to take and pass a course on ethics in the healthcare system, and this is a perfect example of the lack of ethics. Although while he is a monster, he is still their patient, and should be treated accordingly. The four main principles of ethics in healthcare is respect for autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice. The definition of beneficence is: “the obligation of physician to act for the benefit of the patient and supports a number of moral rules to protect and defend the right of others, prevent harm, remove conditions that will cause harm, help persons with disabilities, and rescue persons in danger” While they were acting in defence of Hank, Hank is not their patient. The definition of non-maleficence is literally “obligation of the physician to not harm the patient”. You can *clearly* see previous holes done by Doris when taking his blood, and a nursing professional should know simply how to put a needle in on the first try. While i understand the circumstances of why they were acting the way they were, it was extremely unprofessional and probably could’ve gotten them into trouble had this actually been real life.

Doctors who deliberately make it harmful can be charged with assault. I hope all doctors see this.
