  • As always with our bike reviews, there will be an exhaust noise clip at the end of the video so skip ahead if you just want to watch that!
    Big shoutout to Tim for filming with us today! Was a great experience to meet someone who's used their bike to travel all around the world!

    Hi, from a 66yr old Irishman,thank you for your great review,would love to see photos of your trip..I got my first bike when I was 16 a Honda 50.In 2015 after having 23 bikes of various sizes and makes I bought a 2008 Vstrom 650DL from a young friend who was taking a break from biking to raise his family,after 5 minutes on the saddle I new I had made a great choice.This bike has taken me from Ireland to Bosnia and all the countries along the way and back, twice, over all the high passes in the Alps and Dolomites,through Mount Blanc Tunnel.One year ago today 5th January 2021 I traded my 2008 Strom for a ..2021 Vstrom 650XT to celebrate my 65th birthday.Last October I spent a month touring in Spain and Portugal on my new steed and plan to head back there in October 2022..I love my V strom

    I've owned one for the last 5 years . Mine's a 2012 model finished in Fox Orange . Apart from " wear and tear " consumables , the bike has been totally reliable . A very comfortable " Do It All " bike which can take you anywhere without any drama .....

    Just to let everyone know we did finish the ride around the world. Flying to Baku in June 22 (in time for the F1race), we rode back through Georgia, the Balkans, Italy, Switzerland back home. 5000 miles with no issues. This year we have done the NC500 and rideenthe length of Portugal.

    I am looking for my first bike, and I have fallen in love with the vstrom for its price, reliability and upright riding position. Most reviews are really positive. I love that it's possible to buy a reliable, simple second hand bike for a cheap price. Perfect beginners bike, so it seams. Thanks for another positive review. I would love to hear more about you journey. How did you choose your route? What went into your planning?

    I own a 2007 plasma blue Kawasaki 650R Ninja. It has been great, but I've always wanted to try a Suzuki SV650, but I'm 62 years old now, and maybe I should consider a bike like your 2012 Suzuki V-Strom.

    I have the same bike with about 51 k kilometers , never had a major problem with it except the local dealers who keep sabotaging it on purpose. Must be a Canadian thing .. they don't want any customers from other dealerships . hu greedy lot. Otherwise it the best motor bike I have ever owned .

    I had a 2012 DL650 and now have 2014 DL1000. Both are outstanding bikes. I will never sell my Vstrom. 76lbs of torque and 100hp @ 4,000 rpm. I have a every accessory you can get. However, the main add on are a Sargent saddle and Givi Airflow wind screen.

      Hi Scott! What are your key conclusions when riding DL1000 in comparisson to 650? Any drawbacks? Asking because I just sold my DL650 2006 and are now scratching head - should I go for newer generation DL1000 or get next gen DL650. For reference - with my 2006 DL650 - zero issues faced over 8 years ownership, only regular maintenance.

    • @scottloftin1730
      @scottloftin1730 Před rokem

      @@aldiskuklis If your going off road I would look at the 650.
      Mostly street - I would pick the 1000. IMO the 650 is not strong enough on the highway at high speed.
      If I were looking at a brand new bike I would get the 1050 with the 21inch front wheel.
      Hope that helps.
      Happy trails

    The sound is a little weak. Even with my headphones on and the volume on full blast I could barely hear you. But then again my ears are toast from 50 years of riding. I like my 2013 ABS Adventure model just fine. I wish I could turn off the ABS in dirt or gravel though.
