"It would be frickin' awesome if I won a Grand Slam" Jessica Pegula looks forward to US Open

Jessica Pegula is hoping this will be the year she wins her first Grand Slam title. Speaking to the media on Friday ahead of the U.S. Open, the 30-year-old American admitted, "It would be frickin' awesome if I won a Grand Slam."
Ranked sixth in the world, Pegula is 0-6 in Grand Slam quarterfinals, including a loss at that stage in New York in 2022. However, all six of her career titles have come at hard-court tournaments, including at Toronto this month.
She followed that victory up by getting to the final at the Cincinnati Open before losing to world No. 2 Aryna Sabalenka.
Pegula will open against Shelby Rogers on Tuesday.
