Sameer Nadkarni it's not a safety issue , if the compressor belt snaps off it will just make the ac not work and no one will notice it until the cabin gets too hot!!! , and I think the belt tensioner is missing there should be another spring loaded belt tensioner pulley that will keep the belt tight but allow movement when engine RPM increases or compressor clutch is released.......

S M Golam Mohiuddin nah the belt tensioner is installed on the engine , the compressor is mounted on a spring that is adjusted to tighten up the belt! if it is too lose it will slip and cause unnecessary wearing of the belt.... , or if the belt jumps around on hard acceleration it could come off the pulley and get stuck in the system..... , that spring on the side of compressor is tightened up the lock the belt but still allow some movement in the system so that the belt won't snap off during heavy load......
@@KuntalGhosh Keep in mind that this compressor is also for driver's AC so driver will be driving without AC if it ceases working... unless there's a backup AC system
@@teravolt6113 he won't even notice that! xd , there is no partition between drivers cabin and passenger compartment... , bcz the bus has a big volume of cold air it will remain cool for 1 or 2hr depending on the out side temperature and no of passengers....
Compressor belt should have tensing wheel. It's too long for free run without any pre-tension wheels.
it is not normal for this belt to run loose, it usually has a tensioner or if it is not factory fitted, adapt one
It came from factory just like this. Later the bet was replaced before starting regular operation
