Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! 🙏🏽 I've never disconnected a dishwasher and the thought of doing this was absolutely daunting. I was almost tempted to pay someone to do this... After watching your video, I thought "I could do that" and then replaying it again whilst I did the job, "I did do it!". I was so chuffed with myself. It may seem like such a minor task, but my late partner was "the man" who did all these tasks around the house, and after his passing, I won't lie I've been at a slight loss doing all the things he would've done around the house. This video, really brought some confidence in me, that I am capable of doing these jobs. Thank you. 😊
I have ordered a new dishing machine and they instructed me, as usual, to drain the water. I have already done what you explained but my problem was with the salt reservoir, which is plenty of water, but after watching your video, I saw no other alternative than to remove it with a sponge as well, luckily I had a sponge with a well-suited handle ;) Thank you for your video.
This is brilliant, thank you. I've never connected or disconnected a dishwasher before and you explained it all so clearly that I had no trouble at all. Thank you very much 😊
Great news, glad that I could help. I’ve also got a video how to install a dishwasher which is also easy to follow. Cheers.😎 czcams.com/video/wzifHvNy4iA/video.html
@@LurgsHowToGuides Is it a literal 5 minute job? I have a small tabletop dishwasher, is it the same procedure? Tbh, terrified of doing anything like this in case I do it wrong and flood the place. The problem is it has been impossible to move it to clean under, so it'll be filthy under there, so I want to remove before I order the replacement. I doubt the bloke who brings the new one will give me five minutes to clean the top before he fits it. Should the pipe be so short you can't move it to clean it? Is that typical?
Not sure about table top versions. Guessing pipework is similar. You have to locate the mains cold water feed and turn that off. Also make sure you know where to turn off mains stopcock incase you get water problems
Brilliant, thank you. Wasn't sure how to do this so checked out this video only to find it shows the exact same model of dishwasher I have! Was a walk in the park in the end. I did have to soak up some excess water from the filter even after putting it on for 5 mins. Seems mine didn't empty completely. Thanks again.
When you pulled out the hose at 3:18, does that small thing that had the clip on need some type of cap? Because I have a problem with mine. I don't have a dishwasher, the previous owner took it with them. But now when I wash pots sometimes the suds from washing up come out of that little piece and I often find water in the cupboard under the skin. What can I do to stop it? Hope I was clear. Thanks in advance
@@LurgsHowToGuides what are they called? Because I went to a hardware store and no one knew what I was talking about. I tried googling it but it was hard to know what to search
You can remove the nozzle part by unscrewing it then it’s an end cap. In my experience the best thing to do is remove that part and take it to a plumbers merchant and show them it, they will then be able to help you with the end cap. Good luck
well im going to replace dishwasher with cabinets but one of the connections is connected to a air gap and so is the garbage disposal so idk what to do with the tube that is suppose to have a dishwasher connected when there isnt.@@LurgsHowToGuides
@@LurgsHowToGuides Well, my new Bosch dishwasher was just delivered and the installation instructions say to hook it up to the hot water with a temperature of around 120F/49C. And washing machines are definitely hooked up to both hot and cold water. Maybe it's different here in the U.S.?
Wow yeh must be. Here in England it’s cold water feed only. Makes it much simpler for installing any washing machines or dishwashers and makes plumbing easier as don’t need a hot water pipe.
@@xHICKORYx I think it’s more efficient as it heats up cold to exact temperature it needs. Also when you run hot water it takes a while to come through hot so it’s wasting water. Have a great day and thanks for the info.

Yes you can buy end caps which fit over the top so get one of those, make sure it’s tilted upwards (it does move) so it’s less likely to leak.

You didn't mention the salt reservoir which is full of water.. should this be drained if dishwasher going into storage?
Yes can do although in theory if the Lid is on then it should be ok
What to do with the air gap when you remove dishwasher permanently but keeping garbage disposal?
Not sure what you mean. If you mean the drainage connection you can buy caps to go over them.

Hi can you make a quick little video of you washing machine please 🙏
Doing what? I've got loads of videos on washing machines, anything specific?
How do we cap off a drain pipe
You should be able to buy something from a plumber’s merchant
Hi. Will water come out of the U bend once Ive disconnected it ? Will I need to put a top on it ?
It will if it’s the U Bend for the sink as well. Else if it’s just the dishwasher then it will just be some water inside.
Do I need to "cap off" the cold water feed afterwards even if it's turned off?
Only if it leaks a little then yes put an end cap on it, but I’ve not done it before.
Isn't a dishwasher supposed to be hooked up to hot water?
No, same as washing machines. All modern appliances use mains cold water feed only as they heat the water up.
