ABOUT OAKWOOD
Welcome to Oakwood, a long abandoned campground nestled in the forests of British Columbia. Explore the woods, caves, and a dilapidated lodge in search of your friends, while surviving the prehistoric horrors that now haunt the grounds. - Hry
Dinosaur survival horror is a genre we should be seeing more of. At the very least, I'd love a Dinocrisis remake.
This
Absolutely!
I would love a remake.
Oh yes please!!! Then make the remake for Dino Crisis 2 more horror based and less action shoot'em up, and then a real 3rd game to wrap the story up.
Boom! Perfect trilogy.
If The Isle actually ends up becoming something of worth human gameplay might scratch that itch
Did anybody else notice that every 7 years, a group of people are "invited" to this campsite, exactly when the flora blooms, which might lure the dinos out?
and all of the other groups closed the gate... until Fooster
I wish it had been a little less subtle about that. Perhaps they could have suggested a reason like a sacrifice.
I honestly think the 7 people "Invited " are actually sacrifices so the town doesn't get ransacked by the beasts
So does this mean that the dinosaurs in Oakwood are actually demons from hell?
SHHHHHHH don't tell nobody MF
To be fair, Michael Crichton’s original Jurassic Park novel is more of a sci-if/horror piece than the film portrayed. A lot of the descriptions of the dinosaurs and the deaths in the novel are absolutely terrifying, so this accurately portrays the terror of being in a place stalked by dinosaurs.
Facts!!!
The Crichton's, Jurassic Park was a pretty scary read.... especially reading at night, I loved reading books like that at night
Right!? Can you imagine if they had the budget for that back then?? I would have loved to see the lake scene in the film and many others 😂
It was a fun read
Samuel L. Jackson (Ray Arnold) the scene where Laura Dern (Dr. Ellie Sattler) goes to turn on the power and sees an arm of Ray Arnold reason they did not show his body is because there was a hurricane that hit Hawaii and destroy the set and if the hurricane had not hit Hawaii than they would have filmed Ray Arnold death.
Hearing their footsteps behind Fooster with headphones without seeing them was so terrifying. Almost felt like I was being chased myself.
i was on the edge of my seat hahah
Was watching this in my car near a forest...then left cos fuck that 😂
haha it was the right thing to do@@vincentchung495
This could legit be an actual official Jurassic park game.. the horror atmosphere was so good…
It's better than the park builder games that they keep churning out. Seriously. 🙄
Jurassic Park NEEDS a game like this. I mean, it's terrifying!
I mean it does have a horror game but it's only on VR ok edit apparently it has a switch port
Seriously, dinosaur horror game is an untapped genre. Such underrated concept
Imagine the possibility
What's this game it looks insane
nah, too bad.
As someone else who had tons of nightmares about velociraptors after watching Jurassic Park, I completely understand your fear. I'm Thirty-One and I'll still randomly have nightmares with velociraptor is. So freaking creepy!
Not rly about them , i had nightmares of the t-rex like i was in a huge open field with no place to hide and i could feel and hear it's footsteps getting closer and it's heavy breathing as it was smelling around. It always found me and i woke up just when it was about to eat me XDDD
@@Naxxaramus Then the imagination takes over and makes the dream more unnerving
@@N.i.g.h.t.m.a.r.e.z I agree with you there . When i was little and seen the movies Alien , Aliens etc. For 2 weeks i kept imagine that a xenomorph was slowly stalking the hallway of my house XDDD it was pure terror
@@Naxxaramus Hahaha me too. My dinosaur nightmares were always about the T-Rex. I would sprint like crazy going inside different buildings but for some reason it would still catch me. I watched Jurassic Park when I was little on some random website where I could watch movies for free because I didn't want to ask my parents to buy it or them to know that I wanted to watch it. 😂
That movie BOUGHT a PG-13 rating. It's basically Jaws or Alien with dinosaurs! I saw it when I was a young adult and my friend won free passes to its premier. The theater was PACKED with families with young kids. Everyone was ooing and ahhing for the first 30 minutes.
Then T-Rex knocked over the outhouse with the guy hiding in it. Everyone laughed. Then it bit him in half...the whole theater went dead quiet for a good 5 seconds...and then the kids' crying started! This was not a movie for little kids and I remember a bunch of families getting up and leaving early. We loved it, but holy **it, I can see how it would NOT be a movie for little kids.
Damn... poor Zoey... I was REALLY hoping she would make it. they really make you feel invested in Zoey throughout journey with all of her radio calls. by the end youre hoping more than anything to find her ok.
Honestly I saw her death coming, when she saw the mc she immediately left her hiding place and based on how excited she sounded over the radio she didn't sound like she wasn't being cautious at the end and inevitably she was eaten by a dinosaur.
The only thing I'm wondering though is how the T-rex saw the player character, if this game is working on Jurassic Park logic then the not moving PC shouldn't have been seen by it, not to mention the T-Rex shouldn't have gotten within viewing distance without making any noise.
@HectorCotto97 The rex probably couldn't see her but knew she was in the area from her moving before. I think the point was that she knew she couldn't move so she was fair game to the raptors, either run and get eaten by the rex or give up and get eaten by the raptors. Who knows maybe the T rex ate the raptors once they pounced on her and she used the chance to escape. 😂
@@TravySmoodI'm using this as canon to keep myself happy 😅
I remember as a kid I was terrified of the raptors (and a little afraid of the Trex) from Jurassic park, but I was able to rationalize that they were on a remote island that I would never go to so I never lost much sleep over them.
But then I saw Lost World, and for the next few nights after I first watched it I was afraid a trex was going to burst through my wall and eat me while I lay in bed. Good childhood memories
I can only imagine what you think of the later movies when the Dino’s are all on the main land lol
If you want to revisit that fear, you should watch the San Diego Incident video
Same here. I’m from Northern California, and my family would take me hiking into the redwoods back around the time Lost World had come out and I had an irrational fear a T. Rex was going burst out of the tree line at any second. The Lost World looked way more familiar than the jungle look of JP1.
I like how you left the gate open for the "creatures" to go explore the rest of the world once they are done eating you. 😆
😮 I never realised
I was yelling your supposed to lock the gate behind you! Lol also was wondering why the key was just laying on the ground and not at least under something, my OCD was cranked to 11
@@thefoosterchannelnot like the Trexasurus couldnt just step over/through the fence 😅
It’s hard being a good guy
I thought the same thing after he read the note lol
Man, that's dark. The game killing off your flashlight, so you couldn't see what the Dino was eating because it was 100% chomping down on your friend who was writing that letter when he got got.

This comment must have took A LOT of dedication and hard work. I am impressed and appreciate you for this. It was exciting knowing when Fooster would be screaming next
Just so you know, the dinosaur that chases you in the sewers is a Dilophosauris
Thank you SO MUCH for this!! 🎉
Leave it to Fooster to directly shine the flashlight at the Dinos giving his position away 😂😂
Just like in the movie haha
Righ?! If you're trying to hide from a Raptor, why the heck would you immediately point your flashlight at it?
I mean, he did miss the gashes on the side of the one green tent.
As a resident of British Columbia I approve this game and can neither confirm or deny abandoned campgrounds for absolutely no official reason
As another resident of British Colombia, I approve of this game and can neither deny nor deny that we are suffering from a dinosaur infestation, please do not send help as we are actually getting along quite well.
As a resident of Alberta I'm requesting a remake of the game as I feel like we have the claim on dinosaurs. As BC has all the cool minerals and I'm pissed.
As a resident of British Columbia, I disapprove of the above statement.
😂
Yay western Canada. BC OKANAGAN.
“I wish we’d put more effort into giving me a weapon” 😂😂😂 Fooster mate you’re a top 10 creator imo and your vibe is only beaten when you reluctantly involve Fisk. Rock and roll man please never stop
Oh my god the long grass part had my heart BEATING out of my chest
This game is terrifying
When the door opened in the kitchen area, you could barely see the tail of a raptor disappearing to the right. This game definitely immerses you in the environment and everything falling apart or bottle clinking puts you on edge. Ironically, there is a Jurassic Park horror survival game coming out for Nintendo Switch sometime this year too.
There is?!
I'm so tired of seeing the park builder simulators, honestly...

One of my biggest fears is being chased in an enclosed space by something bigger than me. The part where you're running in the storm drain actually made my anxiety spike so much that I actually squealed🤣
the fact that I love Horror and I got freaked out by watching this says one thing....the creators did an amazing job
I'm glad people are discovering Oakwood; it's not the coolest toy in the dinosaur bin but I think it's the only 'modern' dinosaur horror game out there.
Other dinosaur horror suggestions that are better? Would love to play them!
Just know, no matter how much you screamed in fright during this.. if Fisk had been there, he would have been screaming and crying even more 😅
Hahaha. True indeed.
Can you imagine it. 👍😂
and Ooolaf even more lol This would be an epic groovy gang collab game
I love how you didn’t notice you were much taller then the bathroom stalls your character has some real height on them lol
😂 And fooster saying in fear while crying as quite as he can so the Raptors don't hear him "Its just a dream! Its just a dream! Of God please its just a dream!..." Because Jurassic Park Raptors are the most terrifying Dinosaurs, side by side with the Troodons.
I love that Fooster talks to Madi sometimes in a guiding tone like she's Fooster's daughter
As a HUGE juassic park/world fan this is exactly what I needed
35:55 I literally went "Ew ew ew ew ew" I've seen Jurassic Park movies, prbbly all of them, even as little, they never really startled me but this... watching you play and be scared... is something else, I've never felt actual fear when watching someone play a horror game
I just want to say I really appreciate the audio effects you add to your self. That slight echo when you go into a tunnel or the sewer is a great attention to detail
Yeah! The attention to detail is amazing!
I noticed that and thought I was just going crazy! Glad to see this comment.
I noped out when the raptor chased you through the grass and caught you at the second station...I actually yelped out loud. This game is a gem.
I watched a gameplay review/storyline "reveal" video on this game. They said that Emily was luring people to Oakwood to be killed. Apparently, of the 7 people who arrived, only 6 were killed; Emily being the only one unaccounted for. 🤔 Seemed pretty interesting.
huh, i thought it was like the government or some shit, luring people to the camp to be eaten so the dinos wouldnt escape
@@echo-verse That may be more plausible than what I actually put simply because the rest of the gameplay review/storyline analysis didn't really make much sense. Apparently, we can't link videos anymore otherwise I'd send it to you.
"We're not just going to be able to sneak past a bush!" One of my favorite Fooster lines ever!
That moment in the camper actually had me hold my breath, xD
Old school horror games just have a certain ring to them, don't they?
Edit: Watched the entire video, don't know if I breathed at any point, 100% kudos to Fooster and anyone else who actually played the game
That's because they're trying to scare you and not rely on cheap jump scares like everything now a days. It is really sad what is called horror now a days.
Especially all the stupid ghost stuff. Yeah, another spooky ghost movie is what we need Hollywood 🙄 How about we go back to dinosaurs, creatures, and good ole monsters.
Now those are scary. Especially when done right.
More chilling than anything in the Jurassic World Series.
almost had quad drupel heart attacks watching you play this like i wouldn't've have known where to go eventually being that panic ... you did a hella of a good job!!! like forreal really loved your commentary while being afraid but still being able to talk and the best part was that you were able to finish the game "bravo"
Yes, seeing Fooster play horror is always a joy, but seeing him play DINO horror is... Well, it is supreme entertainment.

Bro your editing skills when it comes to your voice and the environment in the game is so dope! I noticed it in the hacking game you did as well when you added some reverb while you hiding in a locker as if you were really in it. I noticed it in this as well when you walked into the gym and was crawling through vents and stuff. Such a nice touch to immerse us even more 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Thanks for putting yourself through that for us, Lord Fooster.
The graphics when the raptor attacks reminds me a lot of an old SNES Jurassic park game. You would basically just see a wide open mouth like that when they got you.

This. You can tell he is just genuinely a good person. His content is by far my favorite because of that. This game is so terrifying it had me stressed even in video. Feeling Fooster’s fear through it was cherry on top 😂
Amazing quality video as always! I also really love how your commentary audio changes depending on the environment of the game, hearing your voice echo in certain buildings or situations really immersed the experience!!

So I just found your channel and I really enjoy your videos. I think what really sets your content apart is that you add extra effects to your voice which match the environment in game, like at 26:50. It’s such a unique touch that really pulls the viewer in.

Man I could feel your genuine terror, you did very well playing through this. I was scared just watching you play it, if I tried myself I would not be able to progress.
The fact that your voice was echoing through the sewer as you talked was such a nice touch. It felt like I was watching somebody actually exploring the sewers. That's some top-tier editing! It earned you a subscriber!
I know how it feels when you throw yourself into your deepest fears... I recently seen the film Fall and my fear of heights made me want to stop watching and was sweating the time. You did great sticking to it!

Thanks for such great content Fooster! Also, Congrats on 900K Subs! I'm sure you will be over 1 million soon!! You deserve it!!
I really understand how you feel. The first Jurassic Park made me scared of rainy days for years! I got paranoid at every corner of the street about whether there would be a dinosaur jumping out of there. I always looked high up during the rain because I was scared of T-Rex that might walk by. The new Jurassic Parks never came close to that experience again; especially non-Spilberge movies (because all of them are trashes). But now I could feel the same tension when I watched the original movie of this game. Kudos to the dev!
Always an honour to watch your videos and to hear your reactions to scares
Poor man. Suffering so terribly... Was really funny tho! 😂 Thanks, Fooster! I had a blast watching this
fooster dude, you just earned yourself a sub for being able to finish this! well done and thankyou for suffering through it.
only things i would have changed with the game is where the t rex is peering into the caravan, have audible sniff sounds, and change the somewhat lazy ending- i think. stumble onto a nest of cracked eggs instead with no sign of babies, then have them swarm out of nowhere onto the player. or troodon paralyse you and lay eggs into your torso after partial disembowel. otherwise i love it.
i love the drone in the beginning with the various sfx spliced in as you play through, you know i actually had a nightmare in 2001 at 8 years old, of dinosaurs attacking the school and we are hiding in the bag/wet room, and under desks, t rex in the playground drawing closer but other classrooms in between us, and the very same drone but with a kind of soft melodic beat to it, then i wake.
you not closing ANY OF THE DOORS BEHIND U IS KILLIN ME

Also really wanted to say how much I love that extra bit of detail of your voice echoing/the reverb when you are in buildings or the vent and so forth. It makes the video just that much more better!

I really like how you make the effort to adjust your reverb to match the environment. It's a really nice and immersive touch.

Just stumbled across your game play on you tube and love the commentary keep it up great works I'm legit freaked out by this game at 3:47am
Thanks for that awesome playthrough! I love how much you immerse yourself in the game! I hadn't heard of this before today!
Stuff like Oakwood or Dino Crisis would be AMAZING to see as a feature length film, short movie, or a live-action tv-series! There isn't too much horror themed dino stuff, but this game got me excited and all curious to learn more about the mythology!
It seems like every 7 years a pathway/gateway opens up to the dino graveyard you were at in the end, and learning more about that or exploring it in a movie could be awesome!
I'm unsure as to whether the game actually ended where you stopped playing? Was there more after all the dinos circled you at the end? Was that the final, and everyone reaching that point are just supposed to be killed off, realizing that there is no escape? (I like that idea, but damn, what an anti climax 😅).
The best part about your videos and fisks is the way you guys freak out it has me in tears 😂 looking forward to more content

Wow, I’ve only just come across your channel Fooster and thank you for playing games that I would NEVER have the guts to play! 😂 You’re an official legend 👌🏻 The vids are great, keep ‘em coming! 👍🏻
I love seeing all of the dino themed vids lately thank you!!
Videos like this just make my entire day and night better!! When he said "Why am I doing this!?!?" I'm like that's why because of reactions like that!! Awesome work Fooster!! Keep it up bruddah 🤘🏼🤘🏼
This is the second video I’ve seen of yours and not only is the gameplay nerve-racking but your added commentary makes it even more scary because you are straight up freaking out and so am I 😂
Still in the middle of watching this and this is something as a kid I absolutely loved (Jurassic Park is one of my all-time favorite films followed by Lost World) but as an adult aware of WHAT is hunting you leaves me frozen in fear and when you ran through the tall grass and hid in the shed I actually bit my left index finger hard enough I almost broke the skin. This NEEDS to be a bigger horror subgenre. It's absolutely wild.
I was not prepared for how good this game plus your worst fear would create such a great thing to watch.
This game looks the closes to a solid Dino Survival Horror experience, no guns just running from claws and teeth
Ah there's my Fooster! I can't tell you how many times I almost came out of my seat with your jump scares lol. Man, I'd love to play something scary with you. Didn't get to hear the Spider screams from you in Grounded. But this was worth the wait. Not everyone knows your fear. Lol... the lodge part was perfect. Great video! Thank you, I needed it today. :)
That was absolutely great. The level of terror you experienced in this game. That is hard to find. For me the closest thing I can think of was the first time I watched Lights Out. If you have not seen that movie yet, do not look up a review for the movie. Just watch it without knowing what to expect.
I LOVE watching your videos! I was shaking just watching- my muscles are sore from tensing so I can imagine the wild ride you were on playing! I hate to be selfish and ask for more of this content but....I'll watch if you record :)
