  • Dr Ali Bonner talks about two parts of the ASNC course which cover the early history of the Brittonic-speaking peoples (broadly Wales, the Picts of Scotland, Cornwall, Brittany and the Isle of Man) and of the Gaelic-speaking peoples (Ireland, Scotland, and the Isle of Man). She explains why it is important and worthwhile to study medieval history now, in the 21st century, and shares something of the excitement of working with mysterious sources like the Pictish symbol-stones. Dr Bonner also shares insights into her own experience of studying ASNC as a mature student.
