@@patrickfinlay2074 you've got to tell me the origin story on Highland cow prints! They are everywhere here in Canada (1 in every home decor store).
Side note, our family calls them "Caribou!" because when my husband was a toddler he was on a trip "home" with his parents (who had immigrated to the Northwest Territories in Canada's far north from Britain), and the only large animal he'd seen was a Caribou. When he saw Highland cattle, he exclaimed, "Caribou!" to the amusement/confusion of those nearby.

The reason most of us buy things that are " trendy" is bc that is what retailers offer. In 1977 there were no residential stainless steel appliances available, you could get green, yellow, brown or white.

You awakened a memory. When I was 12 my mother suggested we might paint my (pink--never my choice before or since) bedroom. Another option is towels in the bathroom since red goes well with grey and earthtones (we bought tan marble tile at a garage sale 20 years ago and the guy who sold it to us ran inside and brought out a red mat to show us how well red goes with brown.)

Sometimes retailers leave us little choice, unless you’re willing to blow your budget to go off trend! (Striped umbrella … right on trend!😂)

Right? You can only buy what is being sold in the stores, at the time you are needing to buy things.

One of my neighbours had a glass table top and put a very hot cup of coffee down on it. The thing shattered into a million little safety glass bits. They're like Pyrex, and most people find out way too late.

    I. I came back from Denmark last summer with a vine red pantop lamp. I saw it and it was love at first sight. I will never get tired of that color. Your patio is everything. Love it.

I love burgundy too. Wouldn’t have all my walls in that color, but I love a little bit of it here and there.

Oh my gosh I just watched a different video where the CZcamsr spoke super slowly, so I had bumped the speed up to 1.25....and then Nick auto played afterwards and WOW he is COOKIN' on this speed. 😂😂😂 He sounds like a kid who drank four cups of coffee and is really excited to tell you all the information they know at once.

Our kitchen used to be that exact buttery yellow back in 2019!!! 😂 While yellow is my favorite color as well, you could not pay me to switch it back. I painted my bedroom sortive goldenrod back in high school... Ended up unintentionally giving it a very "Under the Tuscan Sun" look... Again, you couldnt pay me to do that again 😅

I basically have to redo my whole living room because apparently our chimney is falling out of the wall. Trend rundown much appreciated!
    Also…if you have fireplace design opinions… 😅

I have a glass coffee table and it isn’t hard to keep clean…..it is clean and minimalist and makes my space look huge. The entire coffee table is glass in one piece. It looks really good imo. I get it though we all have different tastes and that is fine. Love your channel

Such a fun one! I am a sucker for stripes, it feels domestic and sophisticated at the same time. Color trends can be finicky, but I'll do anything to avoid the beige overwhelm!

Trends do influence what is available and so even if you are against trends, you still participate.
    I love chrome for tapwear.

I had Gae Aulenti’s glass coffee table with the black wheels for 15 years, had to get rid of it when I moved because it was too big and I still regret it to this day. None of my kids ever got hurt.
It was the most amazing piece of furniture I ever had.

Absolutely agree with you on glass furniture and chrome. They can go away as far as I’m concerned.
