It's so as sad that I never learnt gardening from my mom and dad :( my father had a transferrable job and yet managed to grow plants at every station, sometimes in our small balcony too. I do have 2-3 quick queries regarding root division..
1. As August is going and I bought a new spider plant. Shall I go for root division in this season?
2. I am quite confused about soil mix. I have garden soil, vermi composed and river sand only. How can we prepare best possible soil using these 3?
3. I want to grow them in a clay pot having a good depth and a hanging plastic pot having average depth, are these options are fine? Also, Is it mandatory to make hole at the botttom of hanging basket?

Hole is mandatory. U have a good soil mix,roots r 5-6 inch do all is good with you
