Thanks to Anita Baker, there are a lot of upset people, moms in particular, who who were expecting to see her on Mother's Day in concert. 15 Minutes before the curtains were due to come up, the Anita Baker Concert in Atlanta at the State Farm Arena, was canceled. No real explanation was given. The standard "due to unforeseen circumstances..." excuse was used in a statement issued by Live Nation. Fans are pissed and confused. Giving her the benefit of the doubt, something has to be wrong for Anita Baker to cancel her performances in such a tacky and irresponsible manner. Then, there are others who are feeling like "sick my a&&, this is what she does". Who knows? Hopefully Ms. Baker will provide an explanation and a sincere apology to her fans for letting them down and wasting their time.
In other concert news. Jenifer Lopez's "This I Me... Now" 30 city tour has turned out to be a flop. In some markets, tickets are going for $10.

I’m still pissed😂! We drove a hour and a half in HORRIBLE Atlanta traffic, stand in line for 45 minutes outside the arena just to be told that the show has been CANCELLED and State Farm Arena has no answer except for Anita Baker was a NO SHOW! Oh, not to mention our tickets were $600 (not including the Ticketmaster fees/taxes), and $70 for parking. This was a Mother’s Day gift from my husband and babies so I felt some type of way, but my Mother’s Day was perfect!
Wasn't Anita sick, she didn't look well in a recent concerts. I don't want to assume what is wrong with her, but her fans sang her song. You all treating Anita like a bad waitress and Red Lobster. Your all wrong.

Anita Baker honestly just should’ve done a residency in Las Vegas like usher. I live in Atlanta and was so excited to go see her yesterday. I am 28 years old and she has been one of my favorite singer since I was a child. 15 minutes before the show started they told us that the show was canceled in a many of us were devastated.I even went so far as to buy Anita Baker shirt off of Etsy, and was prepared to scream, my lungs out singing all of her wonderful songs before her legacy goes to ruin, she needs to go ahead and retire
Honestly I'm glad I didn't have to go to Vegas to see her. I saw her in Atlantic City this past November. The show was great. Idk if this is the case presently but she was limping on stage.
She already had a residency in Vegas.. Q and some of the funky bunch made it a thing and linked up.
She did a show here in Atlanta last Valentines Day (2023) & the sound just wasn't good. After that I said I wasn't paying to see auntie no more

However, she was humbled and apologized to the audience. I also noticed she was limping pretty bad. I just pray that she’s doing okay.

When she came to Newark NJ, at the Prudential Center and Babyface was supposed to preform. I was in AC at the SWV /Silk/Dru Hill/Kem show Saturday night and Patti Jackson announced that Ms Baker cancelled her show and I was thankful that our performers cared enough to show up and show out.

Yeah that sounds about right. I saw Anita Baker approximately 11 years ago in North Carolina. We stood in line for almost 2 hours waiting for the doors to open. The concert started 2 hours late. People booed her loudly when she finally hit the stage. I said I will NEVER go to another Anita Baker show again.

Naw Funky! I saw her over 25 years ago & swore I'd never pay to see her EVER again & I havent! It was at MSG & she didnt sing one song in completion! She did about a min of each song! Then said..."goodnight yall...im going home to my kids" & f*cking left the stage! We got maybe 30-35m show during a time when live shows were at least 60m! The audience just kind of hung around because we thought it was a joke! Nope! She never got another dime from me! Shes UNPROFESSIONAL far too many times.

A huge disappointment. This was my gift to my mom and mil. We were waiting in line outside the arena when they announced the show was canceled. Then the employees put a notice in the window and chained the doors shut. We made the most of the night and went to dinner instead.

THANK GOD Anita did not cancel her Mother's Day show last year 2023 in Batimore! We traveled 6hrs away and stayed in the DMV area all weekend just for her show! Even though Her performance was more like a sound check 🤦🏾♀️ she still sounded good! Thank God Babyface did the THANGGGGGGG‼️‼️‼️

Saw her for this tour in Greensboro. She sounded great, but argued on the stage with her sound engineering team for the majority of the show. Started 40min late, No set list, hobbled around with a staticky corded microphone, and ultimately, the entire show was lackluster. 🤷🏾♀️ Definitely didn’t feel like we got what we paid for, but at least I got to see a legend. I would agree that she seems to have fallen out of love with performing which, given her age, I could understand

Everybody needs to sue Anita. You don’t just get sick 15 mins before a show so much so that you have to cancel the entire thing at the last minute. People deserve more than ticket refunds. Shout out to all of us that were at that infamous show of Anita Baker's in Newark where she wouldn't let Babyface on stage and put on a horribly, awkward performance. Her wig was askew and she was most certainly under the influence of something. I'm still healing and I'll never forget it. The "benefit of the doubt" time has passed for me and this woman.

I also attended the show Funky is referring to at the Hard Rock, in Miami/Hollywood area. Auntie Anita’s voice is unmatched and still absolutely stellar. But the flow and professionalism was exactly as Funky described. All over the place and a bit unhinged. For such a seasoned artist, I’m giving Auntie grace bc it may be some early onset of dementia. I say that seriously and respectfully. Not trying to be funny at all. She seems to have the best intentions, but comes off as forgetful, somewhat confused and unorganized. I could be totally off base, but something is going on and I’m extending grace and well wishes.
I do agree, however, that her team could say a little more out of respect for her fans.

Chile yess i took my girlfriend to see Anita Baker at the hard rock in jersey last year and it was trash lol you can tell she didn't want to be there. I only brought my tickets because my girlfriend wanted to go but it was a horrible show and I low key wanted to leave as soon as she started smh. She sung some songs then asked us what we wanted to hear her sing. She took out the paper of her set lists and decided that she didn't want to sing it in that order anymore smh..then walked around the crowd and kept saying that she wanted to go to sleep and she was old. lol even the background singers looked confused. Smh never again
