Sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh

Some of Vincent van Gogh's most famous works are his Sunflower series. Van Gogh created 11 sunflowers painting throughout his life. One of them was destroyed in a fire in Japan during an Allied bombing of Osaka during World War II.

The fourth in this series, starting at 1:19, is an image not of sunflowers but of a vision of sunflowers that has been with me for decades, not that I wanted it to do so. Seeing it here again makes me realize this. Van Gogh, I just learned a couple of days ago, had an older brother named Vincent who his mother adored, so much so that after this first Vincent died very young, the next child was named Vincent too - the unknown mental patient, then world-famous artist painter. So, when he puts Vincent on his canvases, there may be more significance than one would initially imagine.
