My one and only time with a freelancer was in Pattaya 2019. Took her back to my hotel where she had to leave her I.D card with reception and sign a form. Went to my room, had a shower together etc. Later she was showing me Thai soap operas on tv and what were her favourites and I was showing her episodes of Only Fools (she laughed at the chandelier scene). Anyhow she said she was enjoying her time and decided to stay until the next day afternoon without asking for any further money. When she left, I received a call from reception asking if I was ok and that nothing was stolen.

I have visited Thailand, 8-10 times. Have been everywhere, but mostly in Pattaya. When I have met girls, it has always been from Go Go Bar. A little more expensive but more beautiful, and younger. One evening I took a walk along the beach road. A little everywhere there are round benches that you can sit on, after a few meters again, the same benches. During the walk I noticed that I might have walked a little well borrowed 😃. All of a sudden I see a girl sitting alone, she was around 30 years old and very cute, not super beautiful. I stopped and sat down and started talking. Then she says that she is, Freelancers and wants 500 B, for a short while 😃 I agree. She was the first Thai girl who was a little older that I was with, and had the best sex, of all the GoGo girls, with her. Absolutely incredible. Even today a few years later, I only remember her, Freelancers girl ...😘😘😘

On Thai friendly I always engage in a video chat before arranging a meeting, get her fb ctc, then I know what to expect. I learned from Colombia to "chicka proof my room, always lock up valuables in the room safe, never carry too much money put a little cash in a decoy wallet and one more thing I learned in Colombia, once a drink has been left unattended never drink from it

Just met a fabulous young lady on Beach Road, she was a stunner and recently arrived from up north. We exchanged details and saw each other a few times. There are definite upsides to freelancers: quick and easy arrangements, no drinks, no food, just a 1,000 baht fee + tip for short time. For the record I like both formats, freelance and GoGo. Bonus tip with freelancers; make sure they are legal (ask hotel to check their ID if you are unfamiliar with the Thai numbering system)

🤔……I’ve always considered getting with a freelancer on Beach Rd, but over the past approx 15 visits to Pattaya I have never pulled the trigger, so-to-speak. I usually hit The Go-Go’s and always end up finding a fine companion for the evening.

True story I was having a really hard time sleeping because of the time difference from America to Thailand and I need to make my flight home I had visited a freelancer during the week she was super friendly super nice I found her on my last day and said I need you to do me a favor watch over me while I sleep and wake me up at 3:00 a.m. to make sure I make my flight. That lady attentively washed over me got me up for my flight wish me farewell and made sure I got home safe. None of that was really her job and she did it all with a smile and for the sake of friendship

good advice. for your first few times there (or your only time there) no need.
get the protection, and backing of the bar for 300-500bht. bar fine
though 'freelancer" is a much more generic term. yes especially with dating apps.
here is a freelancer story. in my "manly" days mid 40s..i lived in pattaya..
i was at a hotel in bangkok that i was not staying at for breakfast...nice waitress...pretty..we joke and talk..
when she brings me the check bin..for 150bht breakfast..on the back she hand wrote:
      "1500" with a heart shape.
got her number..met that night (not at that hotel)..now "that" is a freelancer story!..
      a true freelancer story.

  • @Budmadness
    @Budmadness Před 3 lety +25

1-Don’t go to freelancers room, she goes to your room.
2- she must leave her id at the hotel front desk.
    3. Ladyboys, I’ve been coming to Thailand for 20 years and every person I’ve ask if they were ladyboy have told me the truth.
4- A lot of girls who work in the bar leave because they realize they can make more money outside of the bar.
5- when I first started going to Thailand in 1999 I always went to bars and gogos the bar fines were 50 to 100 bhat. Maybe 250 for a stunner. Now gogos 1000 bhat and up. Beer bars 500 and up.
And beer bars are like 500 bhat.
6- with a freelancer there’s no buy me a drink, 95% of the time there’s no drama.
7- if you don’t like the freelancer thing just go to the mall or go to the universities hang out in the clubs near the university a lot of beautiful ladies of age will be there.
Work you playboy game it’s challenging and fun for you and the lady.
Have a good time gentlemen and stay safe.

I really appreciate you passing out those tips to keep us out of trouble. I probably deal with 90% beach girls, and I have to say I have not had any big problems with them. When I see a stunner out there, of course I am a little more cautious. However, they could be out there for a number of reasons that aren't all bad. Maybe they don't want the competition with other good looking girls in the bar. Maybe they can make more money on their own, not having to deal with lady drinks, and bar fines, added to the bill. Maybe they want to make their own hours and work days. You are right that you have to be a little more cautious with beach freelancers, but I seem to relate to them more on the outside, not pressured with buying drinks, and paying those bar fines. If one interests me, I will usually watch her for a day or two ( if you have the time)to see if she goes with anyone, and comes back to the same area. It adds a little to the experience when you finally make your move.

Thanks, Buzzin, for the great info. I used to go to Pattaya often twenty years ago.
I stopped returning due to getting married, having kids, etc, but now divorced.
But, back then, I picked mostly freelancers as they are all over, and many are stunners.
Maybe I was lucky; maybe in twenty years, things have changed, but I never had a problem with them.
I did have two problems, and that was with Bargirls. With one, after I paid the fine and I was going to take her to dinner, she wanted more
money than what we had negotiated for. I immediately took her back to the bar, told the Mamasan, and left.
As we were making boom-boom, the other girl decided she wanted to return to the bar. Obviously, to pick up another customer.
I paid her to avoid any problems. I returned to the bar and told the Mamasan.
So, the story's moral here is that problems can come from anywhere at any time with any of these women.
This is something that any man who has had a girlfriend, fiance, or been married knows very well.

A story I heard from a first timer in BKK went something like this: he brought a freelancer back to his hotel room (mistake #1, but I digress) for short time. After taking care of business, when he went to pay her, she demanded more. As in thousands of Baht more.
When the guy refused, she narrowed her eyes and in a low, cold voice said “this Thailand.” The implication being that if he didn’t pay up, she was going to make lots and lots of trouble for him. He seemed to think she was going to accuse him of rape.
He paid her off with something like an extra 2000 Baht (IIRC, less than she wanted, but enough to make her happy). The guy was shaken, as I think anyone would be. Scary situation, but at least he got her out of the room without further incident.

pics looked good so I told her to come to my room. When it arrived i knew something was wrong. I asked are you a ladyboy? It replied no. I called the front desk of the hotel and asked have you got this person Thai ID card? The reception told me they did. I then asked is this a Mr or Miss
5555 she replied it's a Mr Sir. I told reception to call security to my room. Two security guys showed up but the ladyboy refused to leave saying I owed it 500 baht for taxi. Finally it left empty handed. Stick to the establishment guys

I have never hired a freelancer in Pattaya due to the high quality product available at Beer Bars and GoGo Bars in Pattaya. But when in Bangkok City, Freelancers are my default choice on Soi Nana, those gathered in the middle of the street well outside the Plaza perimeter. I have never had health issues nor drink-spiking issues with my BKK freelancers. My advice -- talk to the girl and make sure she seems genuinely soft hearted rather than feisty -- by no means a guarantee of her being genuine, but a step in the right direction. Minimise your chances of running into trouble by doing your due diligence.

Nicky's Handlebar in Patong absolutely forbids them entering the premises, I was in the Legends bar in Patong one night, there was one eyeing me off and there was another Aussie in the bar I was talking to and she was hanging around with him, he noticed that she was looking at me, he said you can have her, I replied, no I'm married mate, my wife is with her family in Bangkok and I go back in a couple of days. A couple of days later he said to me he was going to bring her out to Australia(he was a first timer to Thailand) I gave him a lecture about bar girls and Freelancers. A year before I was in a expat Aussie friends bar he was managing in Bangla rd, a Freelancer came up to me, Dave said her, he's married and she's Thai, she replied in a sweet voice Bye Bye.

Another reason to not hire a freelancer in Pattaya is if you want her to spend the next day with you -- to share the hotel Breakfast with you -- maybe go Jetskiing, Bowling or shopping with you the next day -- Bar Girls are perfect for DAYTIME COMPANIONSHIP and they'll hang out with you the next day -- rarely do the freelancers do this -- as Buzzin pints out, she's probably got a Factory Job or an Office Job to go to the next day -- she's running away from you come 1am -- that may be fine for you, but I've always loved the companionship that goes with the Pattaya Bar Girl

I remember meeting girls at clubs going home with her and never talk of money just leave a 100 baht on the dresser years of tourist has brought you what you talk any where you go in the world you have to protect yourself as if your going to be robbed. Make sure they can't take everything. There is safety in numbers have a friend. Trev, around 70% of my experiences in Thailand have come from Freelancers. There’s more than one place ( Beech rd ) to find them and I’m very careful of who I go with. But, what IS important is that before I leave my room I hide EVErYTHING! Nothing of value is left out and in sight. Maybe I am just lucky? I don’t know.... I have been out with a few freelancers who have got totally drunk - I never take them back, no point. As for LB, if you are unsure - just ask the girl at the start, there’s nothing wrong in that and they will usually tell you straight.... some have proved it before taking them anywhere 😳🤣 classy..... lol
I think you just have to be sensible.

Many freelancers simply don't want to work in a bar. They want their freedom. Especially with the online business they don't even have for instance to sit on the Beach Road or go to discos anymore. And also with rising prices in bars customers will look for cheaper options. Look at Lazada - it kills many businesses. But it also created a new market. Lazada does not provide girls (yet 😉). But I think with the online options the bar world will change and I think it is noticeable already. Online you have a big selection. You don't have to go from bar to bar and look for a girl you might like. In respect of dangers - you always have to be careful. Even with bar girls.

Years ago (1994), i was in a Bangkok bar sitting on a couch looking at dancers on the stage. That starving looking woman/girl came and sat at the other end, we got to chat and i asked her why she wasn't up there dancing, she told me that she wasn't allowed to go with customer because she was sick. After gently asking her what was her medical issue was, tears started to roll down her cheeks and she told me she had Aid then stood up and left. i found out later that she was the daughter of the Mama-San only 21. The girls on the boardwalk do not have to be tested for STD, one more reason to be weary.

I come to Thailand for 26 years...only thing i can advice (that worked for me..) never take anybody to your room unless everything is stored in a safe, but even then i bring nobody back to my stuff, i gladly pay the 300 baht for a nice st room. If you go out leave you're wallet, gold chains and (expensive) watches in the safe..seen so many guys want to impress the girls with there very expensive watches..stupid! Take only money that you going to spend that evening. Don't get so drunk you end up alone in some dark alley and can't walk anymore..i don't drink but if i get money for everytime i see one...i probably be rich now. Important rule for newbie's, always be polite even if you are right, just try to solve it with a smile and don't shout! I never has had any problem in all my years.. have fun out there and be safe!

Years ago, when I lived there, the calibre of freelancers in Bangkok was much higher than the rather bedraggled crowd on Pattaya’s Beach Road. Some of the most interesting and fun and clever people I’ve known were Bangkok freelancers, a few of whom became long-term girlfriends. Pattaya seems better suited to the “short-time” crowd and the bars can add a modicum of security. But, in general, Thai freelancers are not dangerous. They don’t want a run-in with the police or a violent confrontation any more than you do!

If you stay in hotel they would first have to drop their ID card at the lobby anyway, and hotels policy is always to give you a call once your guest leave to be sure everything is ok before to return the ID.
But of course in any case you should always be careful and aware of what you are doing, appropriate entertainment venues are somehwat safer, regarding health follow-ups as well.

I would agree with your observations many freelancers are great but there are many who are not always honest to some degree if you are lucky the damage is minor but you can find yourself with a bigger problem there is no real way of knowing because unlike a bar they are not always there just to meet foreigners. It is always worth keeping any valuables and documents locked up safely and meet on your terms or somewhere neutral.

Great advice I agree with what’s your saying, however it has never happened to me ( becoming a victim ) in the 20 years I’ve traveled to Thailand, I only heard off such extreme cases and I’m sure it happens, because there are enough of stupid drunks to go around.
I think it is actually really simple, it all comes down to when you’re out there trying too make your mr. Dicky happy, don’t let him do all the thinking for you. Use your common sense and your own brain because mr. Dicky doesn’t have one or possesses ability’s too use it. And another thing, have you been drinking a bit much, well maybe it’s better to let the beers be the remaining entertainment for the rest off the night or at least keep your ass in a safety of a bar/ bar girl you know and trust, don’t go looking for trouble.
Coconut Bar is fantastic place, always a great experiences, but avoid it when you’ve had one drink too many. Remember your worst enemy is alcohol that’s what gets you in trouble and not the girls or Thai people.
Just keep vigilant use your brain while having fun and you’ll be alright.
Believe me Thailand is the best place a paradise on earth, but not for stupid.
