Idea for a video/series:
Imagine you are a visitor with two big time locations on your schedule, but you need to eat in between visiting them.
Offer both a sit down and street food option that is easy to find and on the path between the two locations.
For example, let's say I'm at MOMA until 5pm and I have tickets for a 7pm show on 47th street.
Or maybe I'm spending my day in Central Park, but I'm going to a concert at Carnegie Hall right after.
I think your audience would eat this up (wah wah)

I visited NYC a few months ago and tried the Halal Food cart. I got the same meal but with yellow rice. It was amazing. Some of the best food I've ever had. There was a long line so be aware. They do accept card but it costs a couple bucks more. Highly recommend.

My favorite spot in that area is the Kwik Meal cart. $6 for 2 chicken kati rolls but prices may have changed since.

I prefer the independent coffee shops for superior product. Discovered Culture Espresso on 38th when staying in Garment District years ago and it's a personal favorite.

We had a short-lived Melt Shop here but it closed way back in 2016 or so. I really liked it during its brief history.

52nd and 7th Ave near the Sheraton hotel, there's a purple halal truck parked on the side. They have the best food and cheapest price. Portions are big and everything is fresh. Great friendly workers and food never disappoints.

Jon last time that I was in NYC I had the pleasure of eating at Little Italy's Pizza and at Adel's Famous Halal Food. For my next visit to NYC I will hit up the Melt Shop and 10,000 Coffee.

In The Netherlands we got a ''Kapsalon'', that is fries with meat(chicken or cow), lettuces, onion, tomato and saus.
I avoid Midtown to the best of my ability, but I’m absolutely going to go there for that coffee shop. 😍🤣

First and foremost I love your channel!!! Many of the suggestions you give when it comes to eats, places to go, things to do... are amazing suggestions. Keep up the good work👍🏿 I tried 10,000 coffee. It was really good. If you don't mind I wanted to give you a suggestion to another amazing coffee shop. Its called 787 Coffee. located on 14th and 2nd ave ( There are a few other locations) Whiskey and Rum infused espresso beans. some of the best coffee i have ever had. Again keep the great content coming.

I finally tried Adel's on my most recent trip to NYC and it totally lived up to the hype. It had been on my list on my previous 2 trips but I just hadn't managed to fit it in. This time I was determined and now I'm obsessed with it. I already have a March trip scheduled and you can bet I'll be lining up well in advance of 6pm.
The line starts forming before their cart even arrives on scene and while it's catty-corner from Radio City Music Hall, it's more accurate to say that it's right across the street fro the Simon and Schuster building with the big American flags. No wonder the price has gone up a little. It's worth every penny.
Going to NYC and staying in Midtown in 2 weeks from today! Great video and perfect timing! (I've also watched a lot of your other videos to find good places to visit!)

Hey Barr, we went to Halal guys as you suggested. Indeed the food is great, but I want to warn all the viewers about what seemed to be an attempted scam from their side. I was paying 2 regular platters (20$ total), I gave a 100$ bill and the guy was holding a huge stack of cash in his hand. He gave me 3x20$ bills and then took enough time to see if I would do something for the 20$ missing. Meanwhile he was taking his time rummaging with his hand in his pocket. I counted in front of him the change and once he understood that the trick won't work he quickly grabbed a new 20$ from his pocket.
This raises two questions:
1) if you have a huge stack of cash in your hands why do you have 20$ in your pocket?
2) How could you pick exactly 20$ from your pocket so easily?
To me it seems like a scam prepared for tourists who hand them 100$ bills. I might be wrong! But you might want to even test it with a new video.

I just returned to the office in midtown after 2 years and missed the food varieties so much! From the halal trucks to dumplings. But I’m also trying to watch my spending. That pizza place near the Empire State Building looks great but the funny thing is considering the generic name and prime tourist location, I’d assume the pizza wouldn’t be good and a knock off to real NY pizza. Glad Im wrong. Oh that halal! Now that I love. What a deal when finding anything less that $10 is hard.

I remember in the 1970s New Yorkers used to look down their noses on people who ate plain old meat n potatoes. Nowadays in the same New York it seems there is nothing more fashionable than pot roast, shepherd's pie, and custard. I don't know if it's the Harry Potter influence or its the realization that British and irish food ain't so bad after all!!!
