Great live! I wanted to point out that Drew did not make up the “momala” comment. Drew was drawing from a name that Kamala said that her step kids call her back when she was on the election campaign. As a political junkie, I noticed the, almost immediate misogynoir that resulted when Uncle Joe made Kamala his running mate....(unfortunately, from Black men, as well as white folk) It's only been fairly recently, as a result of her successful advocacy of women's reproductive rights, her appearances at universities, as well as her advocacy for Black businesses, that the negativity has subsided...somewhat. That said, I believe she released that info back in 2020 to soften her image. Most Americans who were even paying attention only knew her from her blisteringly tough appearances on US Senatorial committee hearings. Most folk give childless women the side eye; brothers, as well as Q'Anon types were posting accusations that she slept her way to the top of California politics...despite serving 20 years in service of California as DA and AG, where she won re-election. As a Boomer, it never occurred to me that folk would consider the term offensive, especially, when clear folk used to talk completely out of their necks to melanin folk back in the day. But, that's another convo.
