    Pilot Kaity,
    Thank you for making this video. I just subscribed to your CZcams channel. I'm sorry you’re dealing with negative comments. It's clear that you’ve worked hard and have been blessed with opportunities to get where you are today. Your videos inspire me by showing how dedication, networking, and faith can help achieve one's goals.
    Please continue making these videos. They are awesome and serve as great motivation. I recently learned about the light sport CFI from your content, and it’s amazing to see how it has helped you in your journey. Keep up the good work and continue being a role model for the next generation of pilots.

    Great Job Kaity! You are one of the folks that I am following regularly. You and I have been flying about the same amount of time and I wish I had known you when I was getting started. I have about 20% of your hours and you are in the spot that I am aiming for. It took me 8 years of flying to realize that the journey is different for all of us and that there is no one size fits all approach. Currently working on CFI. I have worked in the industry for over 20 years. There are no shortcuts, but there are certainly ways to be efficient. Thanks for throwing great information out there. Ignore the haters. My understanding, in the research that I've done, is that being a CFI is very much part of the learning process in becoming a full on pilot. You're working with people who will think and react to things differently than you do/did and that's an opportunity for you to reiterate the information. You've already demonstrated you're competent enough to fly on your own. I don't understand why there would be any hate for the light sport path when nearly flight school that I've found in my area is training people in a light sport air craft until you start getting into multi engines.

    This sounds like a great route for those inclined to teach. Thanks for sharing!
    To me this is an awesome way to solve the biggest barrier to becoming a professional pilot, initial capital. However this route is very location dependent. If your city has a flight school which uses LSA’s that’s amazing! If not you’ll have to go the traditional PPL/IR/COM/CFI/CFII. My flight school used to have an LSA (C162), but I don’t think many ppl were renting it so it got sold. Seems like flight schools that have a fleet of and specialize in LSA’s succeed more than ones that have a fleet of 172s and 1 LSA.
    Do you think this would be feasible in the Houston area? Doesn’t seem like there’s any flight schools offering LSA’s here.

    • @pilotkaity
      @pilotkaity  Před 3 měsíci +1

      This is a fair point it’s definitely not as common as standard categories aircraft. I think Houston is a large enough are that there is probably a base of students who want to get light sport that could keep you busy it you find how to advertise to them

    • @TurtleDucki
      @TurtleDucki Před 3 měsíci

    The light sport CFI for sure doesn't take as much time to get as a normal CFI but how did you pay for the ratings after the CFI for light sport aircraft? I think 90% of the people don't get those kind of opportunities. I gave up on funding my own flight training so I did 5 years of an enlistment in the Air Force and using the post 9/11 G.I. Bill in a collegiate flying program. 5:22 there's no way you just cold called an Air Force unit or any kind of military related flight instructing job and got hired with 500 hours total time... Sorry but in the process of looking for my first flying job and that just doesn't happen. At least it doesn't happen for me.

    • @pilotkaity

      I paid for the rating after that with cash…I’m not sure what you’re asking exactly. I do have a couple other videos where I share exactly what I spend on each rating. And as far as the Air Force flight training part: both IFT and UPT use civilian instructors. Instead of you just saying something didn’t happen maybe it’s just that you aren’t aware of every possible opportunity in aviation

    Oof. People on the internet really suck. Anyway, bet that open position gets flooded with applications now! Maybe they’ll send you a Christmas card 😂

    I hate that you even had to defend yourself for comments like that. I ignore “Keyboard warriors”. Sometimes it’s hard and on some vids I have had to disable comments, but I refuse to waste my energy dropping to their level with a response.

    well, while I appreciate the explanation, most of your arguments don't make sense. Not always but in most case i want to be taught from an experienced instructor as he/she possibly has flown in more conditions.
    Nepotism is a reality. I don't believe if you say your father didn't help you get ahead of others.

      It just depends on the instructor like I said. Some more experienced ones are not necessarily better. I have seen some very high time instructor who are absolute crap as CFIs.

      Oh wow I have to jump in on this one!!!! I have used many different instructors due to many reasons from the instructors getting jobs from airlines to me getting a different instructor because he held his helicopter instructor rating as well as fixed wing and an A&P certification and he was very knowledgeable but with that came arrogance and I know it all attitude, and once finished with my first flight with him, he asked me what I did for a profession and when I explained that I worked for a certain government entity, he stated why didn’t you tell me that before as if that would’ve made a difference on how he treated me. saying all this to say that my next flight instructor had lower time hours and actually taught me more than the more experienced 3000 hour CFII MEI couldn’t.
