  • On the first sight this one seems to be nothing special, but take your time and check this one out! This one's extremely rare, this is the very first pressing of "Rhythm Rock" ! Aside the different Label-Art and also the different Label Color on Side B this one also have a different, older cat-no. ! This one have "GGS-2103" while the other known releases have "GGS/GGDS 2105". And now the most important point, this one have a totally different Version, rawer and much more old school, very underground! no children Melodies here, pure Old School Heat! The Beat is much better as well .... the whole Rappin' is different on this one, have been re-recorded for the other known releases ! You will also hear some never heard rhymes! I have found out that this one never came out, only a few copies exist! The pressing have been stopped for some reasons, instead of they released the known Versions. Check out the clip, you will see the difference from the first second, this one starts with an acappella Rhyme by Rodney O .....the pure West Coast Old School Rap heat ......check it out ! peace

    Very proud of the independent label, producers and rappers that came from the Riverside/Rubidoux, CA area. Representing the early days of West Coast Rap.

    Thank you Sir! I was looking for the very first west coast rap songs and so was looking for some early 80s mixtapes of Mix Master Spade, DJ Vegas and Mix Master Ken, but found that song! These cuts are holy grails for sure! Real funky groovy tracks. Don't know why mid and late 80s DJs changed their styles for less synths and more of drum beats.

      @TheFabSki  Před 3 lety +1

      yeah ... the early to the mid80s are amazing! Everything changed when the Beatmakers started using sample beats ! Me myself I must say that I can digg this era too, 1979-1996, than I stopped buying new Hip hop Records! But I must confess that me too I prefer the earlier days! and this one here by the "Caution Crew" is out of this world, by the way, the Version that I have uploaded is very rare! I don't know if you know that, "Rodney O" and "Brother Marquis" were both members of the "Caution Crew". Glad to see that you digg it

      @@TheFabSki what is more intresting I found their song called Westside Storie by Caution Crew recorded in 1983. That is hidden jam for sure has to research a lot! That is actually Gangsta rap song in 1983 before Schoolly D's P.S.K.

    Rodney O in 1983? Now i am surprised like when I found out that Coolio started rapping from 1985.
    P.S. Rodney O & Joe Cooley is underrated guys they are deserved to be in hip hop hall of fame

    • @TheFabSki
      @TheFabSki  Před 4 lety +2

      Max my man, I don’t know if I can agree that they are underrated, West Coast Hip Hop legends without a doubt, the real heads know what’s up ! Yeah, Rodney O was member of the Caution Crew, and what’s also very interesting “Brother Marquis” of the 2 Live Crew was member as well ... hip hop history

    • @88Freshhh
      @88Freshhh Před 4 lety +2

      @@TheFabSki Yea, Brother Marquis i know what's up. But who talk about Rodney O now, where they are now? it seems to me that they are known only among their fans and maybe more in West coast, but i can be wrong, i hope so

    • @TheFabSki
      @TheFabSki  Před 4 lety +2

      Max u are wrong for sure ... the have a giant fan base, Joe Cooley is highly respected ... he was one of the 5 best dj’s in the 80s .... of course the east coasters are not the biggest fans of them, don’t u remember the song Fuck New York in the early 90s ? Lol ... it was always like that in USA, these mainly heard Hip Hop from there own areas .... that’s why many Europeans knows more about Hip Hop than the US Hip Hop heads ... because we love hip hop , we don’t care which Coast, lol ! I buy records since the mi80s, I distinguished between gold and bad stuff ... doesn’t matter what area
