I must point out that this is not completly accurate, even though it is close, and valuable for sure (First time in - Occidental - History where we can find historiographical proof about the existence of Sign Language). Socrates was against writting systems himself; as far as we know, he never wrote anything down. It was Platón who wrote what Socrates presumable said about "mutes" in his essay "Cratilo" [Κρατύλος].
