  • I have my 2006 Honda Big Ruckus 250cc. 22K miles on the bike currently, and replacing the Dr. Pulley Slider Weights. Showing how easy it is to open up the CVT on the bike and do the service on your own. I have moved from the 26 gram OEM roller weights, to the 21 gram slider weights. This has increased take off and speed uphill, at the expense of (some) top end. I have also put a 15% heavier contra spring and racing clutch springs on the rear clutch assembly (a video for another day) I am loving the bike, its been a good ride. Well taken care of and well ridden. These CVT Service and Mods are sort of universal for all CVT style scooters, easy work if you have the right tools.

    • @KMJ187
      @KMJ187  Před 2 lety +1

      The rack is the oem. Honda only imported some oem accessories in 2005 and 2006 the years the bikes were sold. Then stopped all together. Even in 2010 when I got my big ruckus then only 4 years old, oem accessories were sold out at every dealer. You have to hunt them down used. That's the only way. I found mine used on eBay back in 2011. It was beat up and I had it powder coated. Good luck on the hunt!

      alex silva 1. Contra Spring - your looking for a Blue Contra Spring for a CN-250 Engine. If you google you can find shops selling them, a lot of Chinese go karts copy the CN250 from Honda. 2. You can get the sliders anywhere amazon etc, 23x18 is the size you are looking for, my preference is 21G weight. 3. Google Jets R Us and you can find the Honda Big Ruckus under scooters, you want a 45 size idle jet, and a 102 Main Jet. If you do these mods (about $80 in parts) you will see a dramatic improvement in performance :)

    You said "Crankshaft" but do you mean "Driveshaft"?
    My splines are warped but not because it wasnt tightned correctly.
    My clutch cracked up and got stuck while riding, somehow it twisted the splines.
    The new driveshaft is only 41 bucks, but how much do you think it will cost to have it installed by a mechanic? If you happen to know,, thanks.

    • @KMJ187
      @KMJ187  Před 6 lety

      The variator does INDEED sit on the Crankshaft. The shaft the variator sits on with the splines, is coming directly off the crankshaft of the engine. If you messed up the shaft the variator sits on, you need to fully rebuild the engine. If you messed up the drive shaft that the clutch in the back sits on (different part) I would say a few hours of labor.

    • @phase1ny
      @phase1ny Před 6 lety

      Ok, yeah,, I thought it was the driveshaft. So my Crankshaft splines are a bit warped.
