Brought tears to my eyes, I remember those heady days when the entire world was before us in which to revel, and some of us did, some, like Judy, more than others. She still has that angelic voice and presence 50 years on. Wonderful memories.
Just saw her, but she didn't sing this.
Couldn't have put it better Doug, you caught the spirit of the sixties exactly
I looked up her bio. She has been performing since 1959. That was the year I was born. I’m 63. I truly have known her voice my entire life. That’s so incredible to think about.❤️✌🏻
Judy Collins, your voice is truly unchanged. This is a great rendition of a great song. I recently created to works of art, both of which were inspired by the last verse. I saw you in concert at Red Rocks, Colorado. The second half of the concert was Simon and Garfunkel. That was quite a concert. It had to have been around 1969.
Holy crap! She's 81 years old here and her voice sounds incredible! I'm blown away. She's a treasure! She was the first concert I ever attended, at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in around 1971 or 1972.
Me too! I saw her at Bucknell University in 1968. Been in love ever since
Ooo
And she can still play a 12 string guitar!
Amazing, Judy's voice is a lovely now as it was in her 20's. Good for you Judy. You sing heavenly!
Like an angel
Her voice is as beautiful as ever. She's incomparable.
she sounds a lot like Mary Fahl. or vise-verse.
Listening to this made me feel sorry for the generation who give their heart and soul to acts like Taylor Swift thinking that she is the pinnacle of artistic perfection, and who would never listen to this ethereal, angelic perfection
Don’t worry. Timeless music has a way of being rediscovered and real truths can and do reach us as we are made in the likeness and image of God. Signed, a 47 year old x generation man who listened to glam metal in jr. high and by Jr year in high school it was Peter Paul and Mary, Beethoven, and Billie Joel.
Away with Taylor Swift
"I listened...while Dylan wrote this song" what-a-story! Told so gently with wonder in her voice she tells us listening for hours to the process of creation...amazing and haunting
Mark ….. “HAUNTING” is the best adjective for this amazing and timeless musical artist. Could not agree more.
Mr. Tamburine is also called Lucifer. Hesekiel 28,13b. Do you understand now why Dylan wrote this song so quickly and easily? He sold his soul. czcams.com/video/m_wAZ02JUtM/video.html
This has always been a lovely song (full credit to Bob Dylan), and this performance is over the top. Congratulations to Judy Collins. The introduction she gives is gorgeous. She sets you up for a song bound to be touching because of her history with it, teases you with the melody ("a voice coming up the steps"), finishes the historical story, and then sings the song beautifully. I agree with the earlier posters here who praise Judy Collins's voice and singing. She's still fabulous. Enjoy. Thank you, Judy Collins. Kind wishes to all.
Amazing how beautifully Judy Collins STILL sings!
She still has a wonderful voice. Stay well Judy.
Hello Jane how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
True stars ain’t no coincidence. Real deal. May god bless her
Her voice is stunning for an eighty year old woman. I have watched this back to back to performances in her 20s and there really isn't much difference. I don't think I have heard anything quite this well preserved. She looks really healthy too.
Singing is good for the lungs unlike smoking cigarettes.
Stunning not just for eighty, but for any age!
She’s truly incredible!
Age has nothing to do with it.
@@angelbulldog4934 I am 60. And I am a trained singer. Is that old enough to have the opinion I expressed?
How many others are surprised that she is still alive, let alone, relevant?
When Judy sings it, the meaning and purpose of the song hits the heart.
If God ever invented anything sweeter than the sound of Judy's voice, he kept it for himself. She is timeless, she is ageless.
Yo are so correct , I completely agree she has a voice that was meant to sing for God.
@ Jeff Howard
You Sir, have a way with words. Perfectly put. Well done.
God isn't selfish.
@@angelbulldog4934 I do not know him, so I have no experience!
@@speedtouch106 I know Him very well.
Wow, Judy’s voice, like a fine wine, has only improved with age....and it wasn’t too shabby to begin with. lol
a surreal talent. And so much a part of the movement. May the civil rights stay sacred.
My wife and I saw Judy Collins on our honeymoon in lake Tahoe 43 years ago it's astounding her voice is still as beautiful as it was then. I remember her beautiful eyes. Time has not diminished her beauty!
One of the greatest singers singing one of the greatest songs...
Judy Collins singing a Dylan song.
Pure legends of my time.
In my 73 years they have always been there. I was lucky
That's a great song. It brings me back to a wandering, less burdensome, simple life, and the beautiful people I met along the way.
Breathtakingly beautiful tones in her voice.
Sweet "Judy Blue-eyes".
I had the chance to hear this, in the East Village, NYC, 1964. I took those memories with me, to Vietnam, after I was Drafted into the Army, 1966. That was within, just 3 weeks, after graduating from High School, up in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
OMG. The first notes leaving her lips....perfect, I hope to have such a natural flowing voice when I reach her age. And as always....those mesmerizing ageless beautiful prancing blue eyes. Stephen Stills wrote that song to her deservedly.
Wow. After so many years she is still so very remarkable, absolutely amazing.
The magic of Judy's rendition ... superlative, beyond what its creator could express. Thank you Judy for the trip to the stars
Here's my humble take. She portrays the weariness, longing for relieve of a worn down soul. It reminds one of a farewell, someone that's looking down from above. The curtain has been opened, the vail lifted and nothing left but harsh reality except where the wander see's a different road where there's no fences facing. Judy catches the under tones very well. Yes a beautiful rendition. She is a wonderful soul.
Such a pure voice she's one of the all-time greats! And still got in her later years!
Her voice has a gentle, haunting pleasure about it. One that has its own reality that seems to be designed only for you.
Mr. Tamvourine man
What a voice ! What a performance ! What an artist ! Thank you, Ms Collins
Always.
Wow... so fine to hear Judy execute so wonderfully one of Bob Dylan's true classics. Love it.
Judy Collins Fifth Album (the actual title) is outstanding. If you haven't heard it or don't know it, you'll be well impressed.
Jerry Jeff Walker, Who Wrote and Sang ‘Mr. Bojangles,’ Dies at 78
He never had a Top 40 pop hit. But his best-known composition became a standard, and he became a mainstay of the outlaw country movement.
Time has been very kind to her. One of the best Sail on Judy.
WOW just sat and listened while Dylan wrote this song. This song saved my life when I was a lost young man. It got me through each day.
Wow Judy Collins your voice is still as good as in the Sixties bless you
Beautiful, magical days that only come once in a lifetime. Thank you for sharing a taste of the spirit of those days and with Dylan.
Hello Joni how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
Thank you for your wonderful version of Mr. Tambourine man.
A legend leaves me teary eyed.
God is so great to gift us this beautiful soul with an Angels voice from heaven.
Hello Wortman how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
I was born in 1963.I started reacting to music immediately apparently. Haven't stopped. I just saw this lady is still performing. That is absolutely fantastic. I did see her at the Festival with Joni Mitchell and Brandi Carlile. I admire them all so much. The amount of history teaches so much. Youngsters listen up.These stories are pure gold.🇮🇪
This song was written in 1964 - first recorded in 1965. That's nearly sixty years ago! Can you think of any song on the top ten hit parade right now that you would put money on being performed - with such beauty and reverence - in sixty year's time? I'd love to know.
Should have 10 billion views.....a real World Treasure we have with Judy.
I had tickets for her last 3 years. Finally saw her on Sat. OMG best ever
The final notes to this wonderful version are just spine-chilling... such beauty in her voice!

Her voice is timelessly beautiful Angelic 🤟
Hello 👋...... How are you doing?
This world was so blessed with the voice of this amazing lady love you Judy❤️❤️
Judy has a voice that is amazing and timeless ❤️
She's playing here in Daytona Beach in a week. I can't wait, what a voice. It has not changed very much from the 60's. This is legendary ✌️❤️🎵
I’ve never heard this version before it’s beautifully ethereal. What a pure voice.
Thanks Judy for this versión of Mr. Tambourine Man, it´s like listening the song for the first time with that sweet and beautiful voice. Thanks!
Bob could not possibly dream of such a magnificent performance when he wrote the song.
Blue eyed marvelous girl ❤
Her voice is stunning period.
One of the best singer/songwriters ever in music. A true talent and a wonderful interpreter of music and song. One of the rare artists that make life worth living, and music an unmissable journey. Out of site Judy xx
These are the words of God ❤️
Oh my God!! This music is sooooo awesome to listen to!
If Bob had never ever recorded a song he would still be The Man.
What a back catalogue.
Judy must be 83 what a voice that hasn’t changed beautiful! She looks good and healthy!
I love these clips , so full of great insight into my favorite performer and the songs she sings.
Judy and Joni, can there be any more talented people on this planet. ❤
I hope Judy sings this song at her concert on Thursday night at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, This is the one of her hits that i never learned to sig the tenor parts with her. What a voice!!
Love this woman.😊😊
Ms Judy has the most beautiful voice. It seems that the more time that goes by, the more beautiful her voice becomes. I discovered Ms Jusy when I was 13 years old when I bought her album "Judith" from a thrift store in my home town. 37 years later, I still have that old album and it remains one of my favorite albums of all time.
Judy, I wish you many more years. Amazing that you can retain such a Angelic voice at 81. I have always been enchanted by your singing.
Simply mesmerizing.
I'm so glad I discovered her. Stunning voice and look!
Wonderful.
Love the intro on how you started. Mentioning Joni Mitchell, I'm sure you heard her early work when she was Joni Anderson in Canada. Those were magical years in the Village...
I think she looks better now than longtime before.
Beautiful song, beautifully sung, by a beautiful, soulful lady....God Bless.
Voice of an angel..
I had the privilege of seeing you yesterday at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga, CA. Your voice is silk. So, so beautiful. A gift. Thank you for sharing with us. I am so happy I had the privilege to see you again! 💓
WOW, WOW 👌 FANTASTIC, BRILLIANT RAY TWELVE STRINGS U.K
I was amongst a small group of fans that signed her and the Byrds to perform at Saint Anselm's College during our Winter and Spring weekends circa 1969/70.How lucky were we ?She was sooooo beautiful. Still is !!!
I love you so much, Judy, ever since I was a child and my uncles introduced me to your records. I am so glad to see you have your own channel. & I see you are on your tour and I am going to try to make one of the dates somehow. All the best and thank you for the inspiration.
my absolute favorite song of all time performed beautifully by this amazing woman...
Thank you for being you!
Wow. Just wow. 80 years & perfect.
Better through time.
There are no words to adequately describe how good this is, simply stunning!
Amazing voice after all those years
Magnificent...Thank you so much!
Absolutely stunning...clarity, tone, emotion...'beautiful' is a sub-par word to describe.
I remember Judy while I was serving oversea in the 60s.
A legend of music, she is quality without age,
Thank you for letting hear from you in this way!
😮wow how beautiful is her voice still!
Amazing voice 50 plus yrs later

Crystal clear voice of an angel and a great song.
One of the most beautiful and with perfect voice. Even now she has it. An angel of music, style, class and class. Still has it. Over the years she developed greater class and softened up
Stunningly beautiful. No words... except thank you Judy.
For recovering hippies.
And for us who refuse to recover.
WOW ! Beautiful voice Judy !
very goood
This was one of the first Dylan songs I ever heard. I love that Judy travels across genres.
@derek.thomas00 Hello, Derek. Here's one of my songs for you: czcams.com/video/76OxSEgWN9c/video.html. I hope you enjoy it. Take care.
In that white dress and gorgeous hair, she looks like a beautiful angel 🥰
I'm 50 years younger, but I could fall in love.
I love this woman....
What a simply beautiful story about Judy. The Byrds, Dylan and so many great covers, but for me this is simply the most delightful. And she was eavesdropping, literally, as Dylan composed this legendary song. Mind-boggling.
OMG! I was looking for and old cd - Judy sings Dylan and looked on YT - found this clip! What a gem. Thanks Judy, you have only gotten better with age. This version of Mr Tamborine Man - is so poignant and expressive! Thanks for being so wonderful! Sigh!
I'm so glad I stumbled on to this. Great share.
OH! This version almost made me cry. So beatyful.
Stunning, ageless, beautiful through and through - a precious treasure
