i still have it too... i may use it in a pinch if i have to since i purchased one now. Mind you, the one i bought broke right off the bat , mine didnt. but thats what i get for ordering one at super cheap on ebay. lol
I got the rods, block bearings and round shelves from a corner "Lazy Susan" revolving cabinet,all metal, the bearings on top and bottom that it spins on,I'm gonna put in white 30 gallon plastic drum .I thought about cutting slots in round cabinet pans and dropping frames in an letting frame rest on the round pan below,u can adjust the distance between the two of them,they have pillow block with lock, seems like they come complete with rod and bearings top and bottom and their just meant to go in homeade extractor.Yours is SOOOO balanced,store bought needs bolted dowwwwnnnn...
Hej Bzzzant! wonderful idea. I am going to make the same kind of extractor. But I am trying to find plastic barrel and metal which can or must not damage the test and quality of honey and should not release any chemical...What kind of barrel and those metal did you used. Best regards from Denmark.
I have a plastic bucket with a metal cage, that has a handle, it’s manufactured for around £15 but it’s called a honey extractor, so I want £600 for it.

Hi, looks good. Do the frames go in pointing towards the centre (radial), or along the sides of the cage (tangential)?
Looks like they go in facing the sides meaning you need to flip them after the first part of spinning

I am worried about metal flakes as the metal rubs the axles. If you don't use bearings, wood on axle would scrape wood flakes. Bearings get sticky.
