As a NYer, I can say that you really captured the busy-ness and vibrancy of the scene. I also now understand why I am so drawn to your drawing. As a photographer, you have a great eye both for choosing your scenes and for capturing them. Thanks for sharing your work with us all.
An endorsement from a true New Yorker will do for me 😊 Drawing more complex street scenes does seem to make it feel busier, glad it comes across that way.
One thing that struck me about the reference photo is that the photographer must have altered the colours, assuming the famous yellow cabs haven’t gone red since I was last there!

Yes it is hard to find the time. Maybe you could try some fast sketching to a time limit? In one of my early videos I set a 15 minute limit and got a surprising amount completed. But I do enjoy reading and watching as well, it’s a lot less effort for one thing 😄
