Beautiful. He usually dedicates it to his wife Linda who he’s been married to for over 50 years
They actually celebrated their 53 on Sept 1st, & Barry turned 77 the same day!
I grew up with this great group. Love their early music especially 60's-70's. Some of their early hits were "Spicks & Specks", "New York Mining Disaster 1941", "To Love Somebody", "Holiday", "Massachusetts", "World", "And The Sun Will Shine", "Really & Sincerely", "The Singer Sang His Song", "I've Gotta Get A Message To You", "Lonely Days", "I Started A Joke", "Melody Fair", "First of May", "Give Your Best", "Lamplight" etc.
Dagmar, great in your enumeration are some songs, which only knows those early fans like me too. Sample The singer sang his song is not on an early LP it was a B-side of a single. But i mss one of their Best on the LP Bee Gees first. For me with more emotion than „To love somebody“ is the song „I can‘t see nobody“. Her the best Live performance I knew from 1972 in Melbourne czcams.com/video/O1S1xSZrKqM/video.htmlsi=MB5FcxJizrZZ6tNc
Haven't heard this in a long time! Love it❤
Remember -- Barry Gibb and his brothers are Hall of Fame songwriters (awarded in 1994), and legendary ones at that-- among the very, very best. Here's Barry talking about writing the song in 1968: czcams.com/users/shortsSKA82VCrcdA?feature=share Also-- Elvis covered this in his concerts-- He wanted to buy the rights to the song, as he preferred to own the songs he covered, but Barry refused to sell it, so Elvis never recorded it as he planned. He sang it live. Another note-- Elvis wanted Dolly Parton to sell her rights to "I Will Always love You" to him. She of course refused.
A powerful song that resonates even today as one of my Favorites from The Brothers Gibb!
This tune is so good - that every cover version climbed to #1 in the charts even Michael Bolton, Elvis, Boyzone, Dolly Parton - this song is eternal and one of the most covered songs in music history and will be played and covered in 100 years ♥🔥
So many great Bee Gee albums to last a lifetime of beautiful music.
Wonderful very underrated song
My fav of theirs. Beautiful love song.
Beautiful song!
I love this song. Even Elvis did a great version of this song in 1968 or 69.
These old classic songs from The Bee Gees are my favorites, my favorite is I Started A Joke
one of my favorites
bee gees love you inside out
Wonderful Song
Go down the Bee Gee's rabbit hole. Your ears will thank you.
Tee This was so Very Revealing! Really you went to GREASE!
Seeing Tee look at Tasha with so much love and understanding... it's not a little thing.
So happy to hear he not weakened and watched the musical Grease.
Stay the path. Your husband is funny.
That was a damn good show.
What a voice.
my favorite bee gees song!!!
I was on eighth-grade our music teacher played their music everyday.
This became Barry’s solo spotlight song in concerts. You should react to his live 1989 performance.
This is one of my favorites by the Bee Gees how it didn’t hit number one I don’t know, but they did have nine number one singles incredible voices all three of them
Great song from the 1960s Bee Gees. 😅
Barry's best performance for this song was on the Spirit Tour 1979.
He just mesmerized the whole audience and they were by thousands.
Love that performance! Also the '89 Melbourne is great too!❤️🔥🥰❤️🔥
Some who mistake the lead singer here for Robin just may be so used to associating Barry with his nasally falsetto of the disco era that they have assumed it must be Robin singing lead on "Words," one of the early Bee Gees hits. But it IS Barry. Barry's natural register is pleasant and breathy, which made the singing here as lovely as the sentiments of the lyrics. But, as lovely as the song "Words" is (and I think it is a truly moving rendition by Barry), IMO Robin's voice is more distinctively ethereal and undeniably transcendent.
"Massachusetts" is my favorite Bee Gees song where Robin sings lead. Another favorite is from his later years, when Robin did "Ellan Vallin" feat. the King Williams College choir backing him. That song is the unofficial anthem of the Isle of Man, where Robin, his twin Maurice, and their elder brother Barry were born.
The Bee Gees originally did the song for a charity event together, with Robin singing lead, but this official music video shows Robin without his brothers and brings in the choir. Some signs of Robin's failing health are apparent, yet his voice, with its unique sound, is undiminished and as hauntingly beautiful as ever. The video starts out in a cathedral-like setting with Robin singing, and the young voices of the choir coming in, and going to live views of the wild, natural beauty of the island, with its
spectacular coast and green hills, as the song goes on. The song is pure, touching, uplifting... and so is Robin. Something not to miss!
This is early BG , there is lots more and all of it great…enjoy
You should check out the title track from their last album This is Where I Came In from 2001. Great song. Maurice Gibb died less than two years after and his twin brother Robin in 2012. RIP. Later saw Barry Gibb talking about losing Andy, Maurice and Robin. Said that he is the last man standing and got a little silent
ATLANTA RHYTHEM SECTION..... spooky . great song
You guys should check out their songs Massachusetts Live ( One For All Tour) & Alone (Official Video).
T got me laughing when he started mimicking the Hodge Twins after the song ended. 🤣 But anyways great reaction guys.
I didn't think anyone would get it. I'm glad you did.
This is my favorite era of the Bee Gees...was when there was no falsetto
Love all their eras, including the falsetto.
You should try a British band from 1966 called The Crying Shame and their song called ( Please Stay )
Please try Come on over, you'll love it ❤️
The Grease reference in the blind... Funny.
👌👏👏
Yes, you said it exactly….words were pure, you could marry your high school sweetheart.
If you liked this you should listen to "New York Mining Disaster". The title sounds bad but It's a beautiful song.❤ A tribute to the tragedy that happened in 1941.
Glad to hear one of their older songs before Barry started doing his falsetto
There's no voice like Barry Gibbs'....& it's all great!👍
In my life by randy Crawford you may like horns at end
This is Robin doing lead vocals. He has a tremor to his voice. He's the twin with the longest hair usually. He does other early songs too. I started A Joke and Massachusetts. I suggest I Started A Joke.
🤣NO, this is Barry, its HIS signature song, Robin never sang it! You should know Robins voice better, he has a special voice, very different from Barrys in his leads. And Barry also had a vibrato, but much more tremolo than Robins natural vibrato!
Absolutely Barry and not Robin.
Be careful about making a wrong assumption... Bee Gee's fans will clobber you. 😁😄😆
@@Howdyall Bee Gees fans know the voices of all brothers, very simple!
@@Howdyall
Indeed, LOL. We Bee Gees fans are stickers for the details.
The Real Deal. R.I,P🙏🌄⏳
You guys just did this tune because you know I can't hear early Bee Gees with dry eyes. Ok maybe that's paranoid and not true but my reaction is. Some mid to late 60s Beach Boys songs have the same effect. Play either Til I Die or Caroline No. Come on I double Teddydog dare you ! I realize i'm not a patreon. I get it. But cut me some slack. I only discovered you yesterday.
Love Robin’s voice
Barry
This is Barry!!
Ya have a knack for music i hate lmao.
Disrespectful comment
Did Tasha shh Tee?
Lets try missings persons persons a band i hated but appreciate now. You gotta admit her and madonna had a beef way back.
The songs might have been pure though so much dope going around that poisoned society at that time.
Tasha please check your DM in Instagram
They made some of the most beautiful soulful songs before they went disco fever---not that those disco songs are bad, either.
This man only gets layed twice a year at most….😅😅
