- Today we are going through the process of installing an upgraded clutch into a BMW DCT transmission, The same process applies to replacing a burnt out clutch. The ATA clutch upgrade is nice because it comes with the full basket ready to install, SSP also offers nice upgrades but you will install the disks into your original clutch basket.
If you are interested din getting this clutch upgrade, you can get them here: www.seemslegit...
There is a few important steps to complete before driving once the DCT is installed back into the car via BMW repair instructions:
1. Reset the torque characteristic (service function)
2. Perform the clutch adaptation (service function)
3. Teach in valve characteristics (service function)
If you dont do these steps you WILL damage the DCT gearbox.
These are using HTG standalone controllers, all that is covered in adaptations when you install the controller.
What do u mean and how do u do it since I’m dropping my transmission
Please do a SSP next
I have a Z4 with the DCT does this clutch affect the daily driving? I have a stage 3 TCU tune. Is this clutch the reason why our cars start slipping around 600whp?
The line pressure stock just cant hold more power. We no longer sell ATA but we do offer others
Is there a reason why they dont offer this anymore? Also have you tryed the mlreng assembly?
ATA just didnt want to give margins worth selling in the US. No we havnt tried them before
Nice video guys! I have a 335i n55 with a dct (from Mexico) and my temperature sensor seems to be playing too much with the numbers, going up and down by a little and then jumping from 150 to 250. I wanna replace the sensor I think I can see it when you take the clutch out do I need any special tools to get the sensor out do you know? I have to do this myself nobody where I live wants to work with euro cars 😢. Thank you so much for sharing
it just unbolts, easy to do once you remove the clutch
What dct one are y’all running because I wanna beef up my 2004 525i auto clutch up. And are y’all in contact with any tuners for the 04 525. I have a m50 intake on my m54 and headers. I want a tune and to beef up my transmission.
Our e46 runs one out of a 135i
Is that the Australian basket clutch assembly? Is that a GETRAG DCT unit?
Yep ATA is out of Australia, they make them for a variety of dct transmissions including the getrag unit native to BMW
I have too drop my transmission too change my rpm sensor located inside my transmission (335is dct) anything I should be aware of as a first time learner and what are u holding on the back of the transmission too allow the clutch too spin ?
Same doing that tomorrow, are you getting input RPM sensor codes and delayed rpm gauge shifts ?
@@kinglongdickmaster4267 no I didn’t get either one of those codes but I was getting temperature codes don’t remember what they were exact and my car would basically give out after driving for a couple hours I changed the sensor and that light and code went away but now still having the same problem smh
what happen to this ata option on the site i need one for my s55 i was looking to buy it and it disappeard can you reach out and i would be interested asap
No longer available :(
Have you seen or heard of someone breaking a dct gear set? How much tq would be the limit?
I have never seen a dct gear get broken, even on 1300hp drag cars
Just installed mine , all I need to do is the oil balancing ? When I fill ? Been driving good
Yea just do a factory fill procedure and you'll be set! Don't loose much changing the clutch luckily
@@SeemsLegitGarage cool. I also just did the SSP cooling kit. Holds 9L lol, still doing my break in rn
Can’t find this on your website
No longer offered
m5 bolts
Have you Gentlemen ever see the mechatronics take a dump? And if so, what usually happens? What are the signs that it is going out the window?
So going to do this on my E46 M3 that's for damned sure!
Sometimes sensors go bad you gotta look at the datalog and se what doesnt make sense
No coding needed??
correct
@@SeemsLegitGarage would you say this is same as ssp? Iguess my real question is will this stage3 be a good upgrade for a single turbo 335is at 700whp & similar torque?
@@kinginmortal5720 For that I would use stage 2
