      Way back in the early 1910, when this statement was made, the people of Lahroe protested, saying this was a miscommunication. The first wrestler from the subcontinent to make an impact globally was Gulam Mohammed. He defeated the Turkish champion at the Great Exhibition held in Paris, in 1900. Important to get facts right. The great Gama arrived on the stage a decade later.

    I watch your videos often. My family is also linked to wrestling. The Indian subcontinent has a great tradition in wrestling. Sadly this tradition suffered but we in India have again emerged as a world class wrestling power particularly in freestyle and women’s wrestling. Mainly due to Guru Hanuman and Guru Satpal. Genetics has much to do in sports no race is superior to other but all races are different. The Africans are great on track with little training. The Aryans, Mongols (not Chinese but genuine Mongols of Mongolia, Chinese belong to a sub-Mongol race), Turks, etc. have good talent in wrestling. Note both Gama and his equal Rahim Baksh had Aryan Central Asian genes. They were Butts of Kashmir converted to Semitic-Islam from Hindu Butts (Bhats) of the Brahman caste background. They were hardworking, intelligent, pious and got a good nutrition thus were great wrestlers. Jhara had good talent but never made it in genuine wrestling both he and Dara Singh were fake wrestlers that is Noora Pehalwans. They went after money since they were never supported. Gama and Rahim were genuine wrestlers and also great! Recently world has seen some great genuine wrestlers like Alexander Karelin, Aexander Medved, etc. who were outstanding wrestlers. Now we have the invincible Abdulrashid Sadulaev. This is genuine wrestling not the fake one of Dara Singh and Jhara. See on U-tube: 86 KG Finals - Abdulrashid Sadulaev (RUS) vs Reineris Salas (CUB)

    • @sardarbootasingh2708
      @sardarbootasingh2708 Před rokem +1

      @@muhammadtahir4779 Gama and Rahim were equal and genuine great wrestlers. Jhara and Dara Singh if they worked harder could may have reached the Commonwealth Level. The State did not support Jhara though he had a great potential. The reality of Dara Singh as published much earlier: Dara Singh was neither Rustam-e-Punjab nor Rustam-e-Hind. He started as a liftman in Hong Kong. Someone suggested he take up street fights to supplement his income. In 1950s street wrestling was popular in Hong Kong. He did not make much money there and returned to India. He had promoted himself in Hong Kong as Rustom e Hind. Back home he did well to publicize himself. Long before the USA television made fake WWF wrestling matches famous, Dara Singh had embarked on this path. He would invite film stars to his choreographed fights and publish the photos. This publicity led to more fights and also landed him film roles. He made a small fortune working in C grade hit movies. His wrestling career ended when Khushwant Sigh exposed his fake fights in Illustrated Weekly of India. All his claims of fighting in foreign countries and winning were found false advertising or were found wrestling shows and not real fights. Rustam-e-Punjab, Rustam-e-Hind and Rustom-e-Zaman were the titles he bestowed upon himself. His biography at Wikipedia seems to be a work of his publicity manager. Google and check for yourself Commonwealth Wrestling Championship and World Wrestling Champion do not list him even as a competitor let alone as a champion. My comments are not meant to disrespect Dara Singh but to put things in right perspective. Amir Khan is a good actor and a high class entertainer. But if someone starts writing his biography and adds that in addition to being an actor he was an undefeated tennis champion who won Wimbledon and French Open titles, it would be a fraud. Dara Singh provided thrill and entertainment to thousands of Indians and that’s how he should be remembered. Lazy journalists have fallen victim to Wikipedia hoax. Rest in peace Dara Singh you were a good entertainer

Dara Singh is not known in the genuine world of wrestling was an entertainer. Undoubtedly Gama was one of the greatest wrestler ever along with being a noble person. See genuine wrestling not Dara's fake bouts. Indeed Sadulev is genuinely the greatest wrestler as of now. See this (four year old bout) bout on U-tube: GOLD FS - 97 kg: K. SNYDER (USA) v. A. A great wrestler, a great human being and a pious person, truly godly. Never was beaten was a genuine wrestler not a fake wrestler like Dara Singh. Lot of false stories are circulating on him such as that he could not defeat one Balaram Yadav. No wrestler of any consequence exists by this name. This is fake planted data. Gama also retired undefeated. A deep analysis of Gama. He came from a pure Kashmiri Butt (these Butts had accepted Islam from Kashmiri Hindu Butts; that is Brahmins) and like often is the case with Kashmiris had a powerful physical structure. He was very intelligent and worked hard thus was an invincible wrestler. The only one who was as good as him during that period was was Rahim Sultaniwali another Kashmiri Butt. His family disintegrated since they gave up their pious life-style and took to drugs, Noora Khusti, etc. Gama is the beloved of the Indian subcontinent and in the world of genuine wrestlers.

    U missed one thing and that is BruceLee was fan of Gama Pehawan and followed his excercise routine..
    Gama fought and[32] won over five thousand matches.[1][33] Bruce Lee was an avid follower of Gama's training routine.[34] Lee read articles about Gama and how he employed his exercises to build his legendary strength for wrestling, and Lee quickly incorporated them into his own routine. The training routines Lee used included "the cat stretch", and "the squat" (known as "baithak", and also known as the "deep-knee bend.").[35]

    Dear Obaid Dar,
    Thanks for asking. I am a Jat-Sikh from the Punjab and my father and uncles wrestled at the village level. I was posted in the Kashmir Valley. Due to favorable genetics Kashmiris have great talent not only for wrestling but also intellectual pursuits. Allama Iqbal was also a Kashmiri Butt (Brahman) his ancestor was a Sapru Brahman who converted to Islam. The Kashmiris like us Jats rarely marry outside, hence, they have pure ethnicity great for wrestling. They just need the resources and diet and I am confident they shall be second to none in wrestling.

    When you use the word 'Hindustan', it doesn't seem that there has been a division between two countries, one country has become Pakistan and India.
