I agree with you there cause I got into Kendrick & Cole back in 2017 10th Grade, I listened to Cole first went through all his stuff at the time and then one my homie was like yo you have listen to Kendrick GKMC. I listen to it and of course go through all his stuff and when I came out of it I was like Kendrick is number one Cole is nice but he can't top Kendrick there was just something about Kendrick I couldn't shake, the way I described it then is how I still describe it Art and Masterpieces. Kendrick undoubtedly is the greatest of all time, goat is a phrase thrown around way too much nowadays. But if you think purely on what rap was based around (lyrics and beat). Kendrick simply outplays everyone in the game. There are certainly greats, but Kendrick has always been out for blood.
An argument can definitely be made that he is one of the best rappers. I don’t think he quite has enough longevity in the game to be in the running for one of the greatest. He will undoubtedly get there, but to be considered one of the GREATest I think you need to have been having an impact on the game for at least 20 years. But I’m an oldhead so 20 years doesn’t sound too long too me.
I cant think of a classic kdot beat since GKMC. Plus he has no impact whatsoever compared to Nas/Rakim/Jay... Like only black leftist nerds and white liberals with a savior complex worship him.
