We'll happily admit, we are a funny old bunch of people...but we love that about our little triathlon community. It’s our odd quirks and styles that make us so special.

Is there any we missed? Leave us a comment!
Global Triathlon Network I would say i'm the one who never trains with a training plan because i can't stick to it😂 I just do what i feel to do
Butterfly, cant train unless they have a group or training partner. This seems to be me
in our local club periodical a clubmate did this exact theme. I have to look it up but one she described that springs to mind that you left out is the "passing member". This is someone that encountered triathlon and had a bit of fun doin g some full distances but then gets bored and goes on the swim antartica and/or climb the seven peaks or so. (mayb do a tenfold or marathon des sable)
Is the "Lone Magpie" available?
There's me with my commuter bike, a regular pair of running shoes and a training watch without open water option.
I am the kind of triathle who say I'm going to work on my swimming technique, but almost drown every triathlon
You and me both brotha 🤝
But you missed the one that just goes to trainings to "chat" :)
Ah yes, every club has one of those!
70% lonewolf, 10% magpie and 20% analyst. Ha!
I can go with this, but less magpie. The equipment is way to expensive.
exactly the same for me
Very close to my breakdown as well:)
This is it! Although magpie is low for me just because I have no money otherwise it would be higher, mostly at the expense of analyst though. 7 solo sessions over 10 is not likely to change.
Love it. I'm defo the Lone Wolf. Cant stand training with others, quite happy being in my special place on my own!
We all have the lone wolf in us. That is part of training in rl. It's like seeing the signs at the races that say "if you are still in a relationship, you aren't training hard enough".
LMAO at Heather on the kids pony taking a peace sign selfie 🤣😆😂 !!
;)
She did look a little too used to doing the 'duck face' :) ...just saying :)
She definitely KILLED being the example!
@@skykaptain007 Haha thanks!
"world wide web" is old person talk, Fraser! However it made me feel really warm and fuzzy inside ;) (and old)
@2:12... typical triathlete internet browser: 28 tabs open, at least 3 of them frozen, and where is that music coming from?!
Whenever I am considering buying something for training, I get the impression that every triathlete/cyclist/runner is a magpie, but I rarely see a magpie when I'm out training. I think that's because they are all so busy talking about products online, instead of training. The day in/ day out folks I see are always wearing the same stuff I saw them in last time and riding super fast on outdated bikes.
Oh man this was a fun video! Ya'll are hilarious.
Here's some I've noticed over the years-
The social butterfly
The natural born triathlete - Misses workouts and still whoops your ass.
The workout warrior - Pushes every workout into a competition, only to under perform on race day.
The Sloth - Always aiming for volume, avoiding short HIIT days and sprints.
I'm a sloth and didn't even knew
I was waiting for "The Chubby One" who just wants to finish the race. Thems my fam
🙌
I have a co worker thats overweight and has completed over 20 full marathons. She’s walked every single one 😂but she’s got the medals
I actually love those triathletes. They are honest and usually good hearted. The ones that stands out more is the super fit ones that barely finish or fail the cut off. Give me someone who wants to get outside their comfort zone, take on the brutality of swimming, biking, and running while carrying that extra weight, and still will encourage others as they get passed is what triathlon is all about.
jennyy123021 this is me hahaha
@@thecouplesexperiment8508 i respect that.
Greetings from the Lone Wolf :P
I’m definitely the lone wolf but only because I’m busy and can only workout on my own sched 😩
Lloyd Hart So am I 👐
Hey GTN. Love the clip. Did make me crack a smile and lol. Think most of the boxes are ticked. Just wondering if ye have ever taught of doing some clips on us average joes? Abit of what peoples plans for next season are? PBs main races ect. All round trying to juggle work, family. With getting tips from the pro's I think it would make for some interesting watching. Keep up the great work. 🤙👍
I'm a lone wolf, thus evolved to become the fashion challenged. Just pick up any top and shorts that's within the stack of washed laundry. And many times they don't match the shiny blue Shimano SPD shoes that I picked up at an expo sale. 😂
Lone wolf by necessity. I train in the early morning when others sleep, I train in the rain and wind when others renounce. Moreover, everyone's needs are different and change in time, so it is really rare that my training needs coincide with those of others (maybe my recovery run day is someone else high intensity training day). But don't worry, I found the perfect way to do triathlon with others: I take part in competitions. Sharing my passion for triathlon with others is my biggest motivation in racing, as I know before racing that I will never ever win against other stronger triathletes, but I know I will get some good company and will improve myself.
Good lord! I’m 60% loner and 40% weekend warrior! 😂😂
If there is some kind of Emmy Award 🥇 for CZcams videos, then the folks at this channel absolutely should win several for their acting and comedy.
That weekend warrior had me on the floor laughing 😆 😂...at myself.
Well it’s Sunday, time for a nice long brick!
This video is a great ab workout.
Thank-you Global Comedy Network.
You have GOT to post that playground pony selfie!
I love when the crew gets a chance to be silly!
🤪
where does “off season” or “retired” or “sabbatical” fall in this?
100% lone wolf -- with other people around I'm either socializing or racing, not training. I envy people that can mix all three.
How about "Negative Nancy"...the water is always too cold, bike always needs a tune up, or these shoes give me blisters...I got time for none of that. I jump in the cold water without even so much as dipping a toe, tune my own bike so its nobody's fault but my own, and blisters can only be complained about when the bone pokes through your shoe! Well damn, I guess that I'm a lone wolf!
In my experience, it's more often 'Negative Neil' :) At my local outdoor lake (Blue Lagoon near Leeds), there are several women who swim with no wetsuit in temperatures that I wish I had my drysuit on.
Also when I did Helvellyn a couple of years ago, one bloke ran in and ran straight back out again :)
This is too accurate that needs to be included.
hahaha...omg Heather on that park pony... that is way too cute/funny
I'm definitely a posting lone magpie. -Joseph
You are the best!😂
I think I'm a little bit of everything mentioned here. :) There's also abit of the "see-my-mood" or adhoc triathletes in me. Interesting list of the types :)
Should have a poll of ”which of the six are you?” 🙈
video posted on my birthday nice!! hahahahaha so true also i dislike does criticize your workout and tell you that the gear you have bought its not the right ones
well its comfortable for me and my training workout for me
i found myself to be a part of most groups there, except the weekend warrior as i do train every day, sometimes twice (i have a lengthy commute). I always do my runs dressed as a superhero, or at least a marvel or dc character. yesterday i ran as the hulk and i am due to go out in about an hour from now in my spiderman outfit. oh and sometimes, just for fun, i will wear shoes of the same brand nd model but in different colours, ie. left red and right green
I guess I'm a mashup of the magpie, analyst, serial poster and lone wolf :)
bit of the first three, weekend warrior for the long/multiple sessions, magpie for spending more time on gear, and lone wolf. oh well.
Lone Wolf with a touch of serial poster :p
U missed the reasons or defensive triathlete. "Always saying no or not enough training but they won races😂
This is great!!!!
Like = Number of KM run!
I'm the lone wolf...only because I don't have anyone to train with.
Very good one :D
Tell me there are bloopers of Heather on the little pony, how is everyone not dying laughing, lol
Is the video around 1:20 of the 2 cycling Fiesta Island in San Diego?
LOL
thank you for this, I'm definitely the lone wolf. I am one of very few triathletes where I live soooo, yeaaaa.
Those black On Running shoes are pretty kick.
When I raced, I tended to be a lone wolf. Definitely not s serial poster, not a magpie, analyst or weekend warrior. Was kind of a lifestyle for me. Unfortunately after I broke my arm in a mountain biking accident, I was out of commission for several months and it really affect my endurance, along with getting older. I miss racing, and do so a couple of times a year - nothing like the every other weekend races I did before, when I would get myself so sick with fatigue that I would throw up. I guess I learned balance with age.
The Fashion-Challenged Magpie!
Triathlon is an individual sport by nature, so people like doing things their own way, regardless of what other people are doing. To each his own, I like my power meters and training plan, because I like each session to have a purpose, a lot of people simply don't go that far, no need to conform to a unique way of thinking and that's great ;)
A no-brainer picking Mark to be Fashion Challenged. But there’s the opposite, too, where looking stylish or cute is eye-rolling. Maybe Heather for this one, knowing how important cute socks are to her.
90% Lone wolf here, 10% group runs, but serial Strava poster!
Thats me as well😂
I guess we’re all a bit of all of them ... i’d be analytically fashionably challenged lone-wolf ... 15-15-70% ... trying to increase on the analytic part though to get better! 😊
You forget about I-will-show-you guy! Mostly man, mostly a little bit with extra pounds, mostly without any properly equipment, mostly they made a bet that for eg. "they can finish 70.3 because they were running in middle school" and of course 3 weeks before start it's enough time to prepare to any distance :D
That was fun
I'm in that unfortunate combo of the lone wolf and serial poster.... Not keen on training with others, but you can be sure my Strava and Facebook will be updated after a session....
LOL, my wife is the serial poster. I might be more of the fashion mismatch...but I need to research a bit more.
Lone wolf because my friends are just effortlessly in shape
I Would say I’m a fashion challenged chopper 😂🤣
Seem to remember GCN made a comment that runners look like they dress in the dark and had a clip of Mark in slow motion.
Guilty of being the " Lone Wolf "
love you too guys 😍
Lone wolf and analyst right here.
Im little bit of all. 🤣
Well just found this pre-covid video, this year I'm the lone wolf, not really wanting to train with anybody...
lone wolf, that recently starting dabbling into the world of group training. So far I don't think I like it, but let's see!
The GB age grouper who makes sure everyone knows they represented GB age group and wears their GB tri suit to every event, with accompanying tracksuit
The Lone Wolf are mostly the Analyst with extra step.
Holy shit, I just realized I'm fashion challenged :o
Cool......keep it comin'😅
Lone wolf here! I like to go on my own schedule
I thought that we never would never see Heather doing the duck-face but god damn it it's 2019 so anything can happen.
🤣
I love the magpies, they sell all that kit online a week after they buy it... for next to nothing.
I live in rural Michigan and know only one other triathlete in my area, so I'm afraid I've had none of these experiences.... *lonely sob*
80% lone wolf 20% analyst is me!! But I'm 100% triathlete and thats whats important for this sport....get job GTN!!
100% Lone Wolf, where's my pack though?
Well, can't be bothered prefer to train alone though!
Lone wolf+weekend warrior+analyst.😅 There's me.
Lone wolf here. Can only deal with my own spit and snot !
I'm "4" so much 😂
So good to not fit in any of those :D
Lonewolf analyst here ;)
I am the GTN. I can't train before i have seen the new show
I'm the lone wolf and the analyst mixed into one
Lone wolf for sure
Probably the analyst. I love data
I’m the analyst, it has led to me being called “datadog”
Lone Wolf because I dont want my training to turn into race , or social event . But I would say since I am came into the sport in 1985 ,Old school + Lone Wolf
What if you tick all boxes?
80% lone wolf 20%weekend warrior
I'm kinda weird hybrid I'm part Triathlete, part powerlifter ,sprinkled with a little mixed martial arts ! 🏊♂️🚴♂️🏃♂️🏋️♂️🥊🥋
P S Haven't done crossfit yet .🤠
Wow im a lone wolf analyst I guess. I take training WAY too serious soooo nobody wants to train with me anyway. I can actually put out better #'s in training sometimes over racing. Almost passed out a few times and hit the "eject button" on breakfast as well. Im just a tri loving mental case I suppose.
There's always the Excuses triathlete - always recovering from a tough workout or race, under the weather, jetlag, busy at work, family commitments, coming back from injury, just had an injury, taking it easy, easy workout tonight, tapering, pre-tapering, post-tapering...
Yes very true, it's easy to fall into that one too!
😂😂😂that is funny. My best friend is the excuses athlete. Everytime I ask him to workout he has an injury, he just ate, he wants to take it easy. I stopped training with him years ago😂😂
Analytic Lonewolf here!
There are only 2. One that go on and on about their achievments and belittle eveyone around them... And the ones that are nice.
All of the above.
50% lone wolf 50% analysts 😂
I'm 1 through 4 :)
I’m in trouble! I’m all 6
Lone Wolf for life!
"6 types of triathletes you know"
Nigga i dont know anyone
I think I must be the egotistical one.. I love running down the red carpet getting all the attention.. Then getting a metal... Beats sitting on the sofa...
60% Lone Wolf, 30% Analyst, 10% Magpie
Wait. That's me
60% lone wolf and 40% weekend hero
Personally attacking Lionel with the "fashion challenged" character was a bit harsh!
I don't appreciate you calling me out 6x like that
