- Matilda is back, and this time the fight is on.
The rules for the challenge are: we each get to take turns on picking a boulder. If you do your boulder and the other person doesn't, you get 1 point. If both of you do the boulder the score doesn't change, and if the person who didn't pick the boulder is the only one who does it you get -1 points. First climber to make it to 3 points, or the one with the highest score after 14 boulders, is deemed the winner.

That pink one looked deceptively easy when Mathilda did it, it was cool to see how much of a fight it really took.
Knowing how good Matilda is in that style and still seeing the extreme concentration and slight nervousness on her face when climbing gave it away a bit, though.

I super love the spirit of climbing that Emil and Matilde both capture in this video. There’s such innate confidence present to show vulnerabilities in climbing through displays of attempts on anti-style HARD problems. So so cool. Great models for climbing support and try hard vibes ❤ genuinely so fun to watch

Matilda makes everything looks so easy and smooth. Amazing.
So cool to see climbers at this level do exactly the same kind of "uh, no, that didn't work, damn, what if I move my arm like this? Nope, not that either, maybe if I put my foot there?" type of process that I and my friends go through so often 😅 Obviously not on anything nearly as hard as what they're doing, but it's fun to see that figuring stuff out on the wall looks kind of the same even when you're that good.

Great Video! Is it generally okay to use the holes for screwing in the holds / does it differ from gym to gym?
It's almost always allowed! In comps and in gym. Bolt holes on the other hand are rarely allowed though.
I wouldn't be surprised if some gyms have a ban on using the screw holes, but in the industry as a whole it's quite standard to climb on box edges and screw holes on comp climbs

Any reason why you wear the regular Drones vs. the Drone CS most of the time? I was thinking thinking of buying the CS but would be interested in reasons you prefer the standard drones.

They recently released the Drone 2.0, and so I've been trying them out for a while now. Can't really figure out which I like more.. they're quite similar once broken in, but the 2.0 gives a bit more support on small footholds. The CS on the other hand is godlike on smears, so I might switch back and forth a bit. Also, I have incredibly sweaty feet, which makes a softer shoe a bit worse over time

i have to say matilda has the advantage just because her legs just seem to go on forever. her reach is incredible so im surprised she didnt win more climbs!

Actually screw holes are on in IFSC comps, just not bolt holes :-)
