Even if Mario (or any Nintendo character to be fair) never makes it to Fortnite, it’s still cool to imagine just how chaotic it could get with him in the game. If he was in Fortnite though they should remake the normal jump animation into Mario’s jump. Would be a cool easter egg :D
Just saying if they can’t do Mario they can also do link, samus, and Kirby (Kirby has also held a gun)
Iirc, Epic actually really did try to get Samus, even having her silhouette in a comic.
Also, just adding, there's also Bayonetta, Captain Falcon, the Star Fox cast, DK (WITH HIS COCONUT GUN), and the party of Xenoblade 3 (who all can gain gun class abilities)
Imagine seeing Mario and Luigi hitting clips in Fortnite☠️💀

As a Fortnite and Nintendo guy I know it goes deeper. Epic knows they will never get Mario without gaining Nintendo’s trust they wanted to use more mature videos like Samus but here’s the thing, NINTENDO SAID YES BUT they wanted it so only people on the switch can not just buy but see it, in other words they didn’t even want people on other consoles to see Samus so obviously epic said no. This was for chapter 2 season 5 the bounty hunter season. Nintendo isn’t scared to have link or Samus hold a gun they are worried about them being on other consoles. With the new modes epic is adding like Lego they confirmed it has allowed them to do collaborations they thought where impossible before but unfortunately I don’t think Nintendo is gonna be a part of that. In simple turns Nintendo is greedier with their characters then Xbox and especially PlayStation are😢
If I saw the headlines "Mario and friends join Fortnite" and "Fortnite LEGO is the best thing since Fortnite"... then I would get more excited over the latter even though I like Mario stuff.

I haven't played or even downloaded Fortnite. Not really a BR or multiplayer shooter kinda guy, if anything the new RockBand esque mode interests me more.
But Iirc, weren't there exclusive PS Plus Fortnite skins, and exclusive Samsung Galaxy skins? I'm pretty sure there were banner ads I saw on phone store shelves/the ps4 marketplace.
Couldn't Nintendo do something like that, like attach an NSO membership or something?
Again, haven't played Fortnite, IDK if there's also timed exclusivity or problems with cross progression or something.

The problem is not fortnite itself, but the platform who can get access to their characters. If Epic say it is an exclusivity of nintendo console. People can buy on their nintendo switch and use it in their others platforms. So it will never happen. All exemples you said are dlc or games in exclusivity with nintendo's platforms not crossplatform's contents.

I mean sega did that to with shadow the hedgehoge so mario can get in fortnite but i think fall guys is more Lively
The mario skin should be similar to that one skin in the fortnite season 5 battlepass with the llama hog rider lookin skin but the llama replaced with yoshi and the rider as mario with selectable styles that would be green mario or even toad (only true fortnite players will know what im on about) and mario can hold a gun since in smash bros he holds a gun and alot of gen z kids played fortnite under the age of 13 showing that guns arent a threat to lil kids who id full box and 200 pump
