Howdy Gunman another great video - just a tip regarding UV filler is to lay a sheet of cling wrap or similar over the filler just before you hit it with light. You won't then get that slimey layer on top.
I heard from some industrial chemist that the UV filler doesn't like to cure when it's in contact with air/oxygen. So the cling wrap prevents that. 👌🏼
I can tell that you've done painting for a long time.
You had me at the point when you opened the door to clean the jams.
Totally awesome job.
These garage jobs are the best!
No Fear My friend,..i have leared so much about Paint ,...and Life from you.
I am grateful for Your efforts to share
As good as you are impressing yourself is double impressive !! …. what a great sample of modern technique 👍🏻💪🏻
Well done for a super quick repair!
That was crazy quick brah.
Dont know bout you but the weather in melbs got me keen for a thai trip 😅
Great results there Gunny, the before and after shots when you flat and polished it is night and day it just shows that you don't need a spotless off the gun finish to get good results👌👍John UK
Sensational job mate 👍
Don't talk yourself down.
Love your channel 🍺
I don’t know how you and some other Australians do that but I feel more like I stand in a corner of your shop with a beer than watching video on a phone on other side of the sphere. Thanks man!
Hell yea brother gotta love smart repairs. Always abit of fun 😊
Looking good Gunman, looks sharp to me. This guy in San Diego who has Snap on toolboxes full of pdr tools I think has pretty high prices. A single dent in usd can be 400 bucks easy i think. He's obviously very good and sometimes pdr probably is the best to keep paint original for those freaks who that matters so much for their classic car. For a DD you'd be hard pressed to even see it if you've got a good eye. Looks fabulous.
@TheGunmanChannel great review! I just tried the ANI COMPACT 1.3. My job came right about the same as far of texture like yours. I couldn’t set it up to spray flat. Man im really having my concerns about this gun. I even raised the pressured to like 3.5-4 bar and finish looked really bad
Red car ----- red shoes. Cool.
Good to see you. I personally would have tried to Paintless Dent Removal that dent but each to their own. I was honestly hoping to see a video come out last week, take care Gunny! Hope the Torana is doing well. You sound calm and collected in this video, cheers.
If you missed it in the video I mentioned I did try that but the plugs kept pulling off. Cheers mate the Torana is waiting for me to change the transmission at the moment
@@TheGunmanChannel yea mate I did watch the video but I get that excited watching your videos I comment before I watch the while thing stupidly. With any luck I'll see you around melbourne one day!
Good job gunny hope your well 👍
THANK YOU
Nice after the buff gunny :)
heaps of peel there after the clear coat.
Is that the fast hardener?
Watched they live when i was a kid. Scared the sh1t outta me.
Hey Gunny, definitely agree with you when you say 1k primer is dangerous, had multiple fry ups when using 2:1 base this week, never gonna use rattle cans again, just not worth the grief. Learned so much from you tho, cheers buddy 👍🏼
Being this was original factory 2K paint with UV primer I knew it was going to be pretty safe, but you're right it is risky, usually because it's been painted with cheap paint so the 1k bites in and reacts. 2k primer or even UV primer would be the best to hold it down because there's no solvents in UV primer to react with it.
With me it was the other way round, the 1k rattle went down fine and then I had a coat of 2k wet on wet over that, still fine, but when the base pearl went over it the 1k flared up, probably because the pearl has 50% reducer, but it stopped me dead in my tracks. It’s my car so no biggy, but if it was a customers job…..ooof!
Hey maestro, may I ask where you got the UV Light from and the putty? It makes repairs a lot quicker like you showed
Nuva fillers from AMH Canada, and same with the light.
Too good
Still never used uv filler more because of sticking with what I know more than anything else and being to tight to buy a uv lamp
I mainly want to see the lamps come down in price drastically.
The finish you got there is almost a factory finish ?
What is the reason for those imperfections? Dust from the floor?
Scariest bit was seeing the extension lead connector laying in a puddle of water on floor 🤣🤣
No mucking about here !! …. That’s getting it done ✅
Love your work gunmen how do u not get dust or any specs when u spray in the garage As u did a house door with 2 k base unlucky for me 2 specs now I have to sand and recoat then clear it any ideas please.
Job was covered in dirt, didn't you see it, plus he said he would sand the nibs off.
@@SalvageMasterEssex You can sand base coat with dust but then u need to put more base coat on before clear simple as that.
Hey gunny how fine will that new gun go to do small repairs? I've got an old Sri and I can't get used to it, I can actually get my flg5 to go finer and still paint well. Got a few jobs to do in my garage with a 25 litre compressor so looking for a good gun to use! I was looking at the optiflow that spray guns direct have!
I've used that optiflow, it's crap 😆 but for finer smaller jobs I'd recommend the same gun but in 1.2 the ANi R160 or even in 1.0 but that would be no good for larger jobs like bonnets
Cheers, I like the look of this new gun, I've got a wheel arch on an Astra H to do, rear bumper, door and quarter and repairs on the front bumper. Love my flag but it won't run on my compressor!
Regards the glue PDR I brought a £25 kit from eBay and it was tricky to get used to. Trick I found is leave the glue much longer than it says to warm up and while it's heating up warm the panel your working on. Stick the tab on and let it all cool together. The tab will try and slide off so you need to hold it and also use lots of glue. I pulled a horrible crease dent on my Astra. Hope it helps, love the vids as always!!
Are you using the 1.3 or 1.4 tip in this video?
1.3 and that's what I would recommend for most jobs
If I'm not mistaken isn't this a gunman raw video?
is that the F160 or the new Ani compact
ANi Compact 1.3 mate
what grit did you hit the panel with before filler?
Well done. End result is awesome
500
I think I have seen this video before I am right or it's my idea?
Yo question, what specs on an air compressor would I need for a garage setup?
The bigger the better, but I have a cool one by Chicago Air, it has 3 1.1hp silent electric motors on it, so you can turn them off or on as you wish. I did a review on it, it's also 10A so it doesn't drain too much power. But I highly recommend it, any smaller and you may struggle with certain tools and any bigger it will possibly be an issue with power consumption. So yeah, look around the 3hp silent range.
@@TheGunmanChannel did you get my reply
@@beau4899 no I didn't
@@TheGunmanChannel alifornia Air Tools SP Ultra Quiet Oil-Free 4-HP 20-Gallon Duplex Air Compressor (220V 1-Phase)
would that be good?
@@TheGunmanChannel maybe its deleting it because of the name or link
🤘👍✌️🥰
I see you guys using uv stuff and feel so primitive
It's a game changer 😉
Couldn’t this have been fixed through PDR method?
Probably but then he would not have done a video
@@smoggy1964 🤣
Hardener,Clear how do you know if its gone off would you say if it does not pour out of the Tin like water its had its course.
Yeah I guess each product has a certain consistency it should be and when it starts going harder than that it's on its way out. I'm 90% sure that's what happened to me on this job
@@TheGunmanChannel Cheers gunman thanks for the reply. When u sand to get the dust out do u use wet & dry or just use cutting compound
@@Snip59 yeah wet dry 2,000 then wet 3,000 saves a lot of polishing
@@TheGunmanChannel Thanks so much for getting back to me much appreciated wish you were in Sydney.Love your work helps us all so much a true artist at work.
Have you thought of learning pdr gunny? Im a painter too and started learning couple of years ago and learnt quick.
Im still painting at the moment but do pdr for my bodyshop now.
