- This is a Motormouth couple car review of the all-new 2025 Kia K4 compact sedan. The 2025 Kia K4 will replace the Kia Forte, it’s longer and wider than the Forte. Kia says, it offers best in class width and rear seat legroom in the compact sedan class.
There are two powertrain options, the base 2025 Kia K4 engine is a 2L 4-cylinder matched to a CVT, 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. The more powerful engine is a 1.6L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 190 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. This engine will be offered on the GT-Line. Exclusive to the GT-Line turbo is a multi-link rear suspension.
The 2025 Kia K4 is a FWD model only.
The 2025 Kia K4 offers a fresh exterior design with a fastback style, it has standard LED headlights and LED taillights. The K4 GT-Line turbo you see in the photos has small cube LED projection headlights with integrated LED fog lights. Standard 16” wheels, available 17” and 18” wheels.
The interior of the 2025 Kia K4 is modern and clean with dual screens, a combined 30” digital display. Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto are standard as well as heated front seats. Available features include, ventilated front seats, driver seat memory, the Harman Kardon sound system, 360-degree camera and a surround view monitor. A 3-spoke steering wheel is unique to the GT-Line models.
The 2025 Kia K4 will arrive in the second half of 2024. Pricing, fuel economy numbers and trim details will be announced closer to that date.

My daughter has a 2011 Forte, my parents have a 2016 Optima, both are going strong. I think this K4 will be a nice blend of the two size-wise. Looks nice too. Hope they offer it in a 1.6L turbo hybrid eventually.
Just got rid of my 2020 Tuson for a 2024 Rav 4. Had nothing but problem with the Tuson.
@@dark6c159 sorry to hear your Hyundai was a problem. Can't go wrong with Rav4!
@@dark6c159 Not sure what a 2020 Tucson has to do with a 2024 K4.........
I'm glad that your daughter and parents are going strong but how are their cars doing?
Looks very sleek and stylish with a futuristic appearance!
Kia knocked it out of the park with the style.
Enjoy watching your shows every week! The K4 looks a little odd in the rear roof line and trunk area! Seems like a nice car overall! Your car reviews are excellent!!!!
Love this channel. Happy Easter to everyone! 😊 🐣
Thank you, Happy Easter!!
Thanks. Happy Easter.
From UK 🇬🇧 here,
I drive a 2022 Kia Proceed GT which I absolutely love, but I do like this K4 and I hope Kia brings this model to United Kingdom and Europe
Another great Andrea and Zack video.
A & Z, I Love the Hidden Second (Rear) Passenger door handles. 😎❤️😊
This is an attractive car. There are buttons on the dashboard too!
Love the colour 👍👍👍 hope they have fixes the engine issues 🤷♂️🤷♂️ my friend had a little Kia car it had over 400,000km on it before it died, and that car was not looked after well. Seems nowadays that they seem to have some major reliable issues as of late. Awesome job guys as always 👍👍👍.
Well done video that you guys did on the K4. I just bought the 2024 Forte GT-Line. Great car BTW. I'll still want to check out the 2025 when it coms out.
Nice looking ride ! 👍🏽
I see Polestar in the rear end.
Beautiful! Way better styling than Toyota/Honda and even Mazda. Driving a 2019 Forte. No issues at all.
Backseat looks perfect for UberX! Hope there’s a hybrid too.
That hatch is gonna be a nice addition
Wow, very nice changes! Right at top of class or maybe the new standard!
i like the colour of the interior.
Us too, the colour combo looks great! That's one thing about Kia, they usually offer a variety of interior colour options in their vehicles.
I love this couple ! So classy ❤ They are relationship goals.
Classy? I’m not so sure, especially when Andrea says things like there IS two power train options instead of the proper there ARE two power train options. At Andrea’s age it’s high time to distinguish between singular and plural, and stop mangling the English language.
@@alexvaliansky7707I’m sure you NEVER make mistakes 😂
@@alexvaliansky7707 Get a life dude.
@@Johnnyiswhere Perhaps once in a blue moon. I respect our English language.
Is: “Shut the fuck up, dweeb.” Proper English?
I can't wait to test drive one of these and potentially get the one with 190 hp and 195 tq!
It is a nice-looking car... reminds me a little of a Polestar!
The 190 hp engine is a good start for this car but KIA really needs to update that 147 hp 2.0 engine after so many years already.
ive heard that the 190hp setup is the same as the Kona and it's pretty bad on that car (very sluggish and not tuned correctly). Similar issue with the K5's 260hp engine - it was horrible. How it was tuned and paired with the fwd and transmission, the power wasnt delivered. The K5's 190hp with AWD outperformed the bigger engine in every metric. Hopefully they've addressed all this with the K4. Kia keeps offering these "higher-performance" engines as a marketing gimic, but in reality its never done correctly and they end up being a crappier car for money vs the base engine variant.
Good point Phil, especially since this all new K4 is bigger and heavier than the old Forte so the 147 hp engine will feel even slower!
Zach I agree with you on the design.
Looks llike my K5 like to see more on Hatch back version cost goes up on hatch back?
It's pretty cool. I love the look. I wish it was a little bigger.
When I first saw it I hated the styling. Now I love it. 😂
I just got back from Mexico, and saw there the Kia K3. What a handsome compact four door sedan! Is there any chance they will bring that one to Canada? I think it would sell very well here.
Does the center console slide forward like the Forte? I'm on the short side lol
The initial leaked pictures looked so bad, but this thing is sleek! I hope we get the hatch in Canada too!
Take a look at the headrests. Awsome.
Looks like it’s super uncomfortable to rest your head
Good looking car. Good video
The exterior reminds me of polestar 2, really modern! Will they have a hybrid option like the Elantra?
I like the look, but what exterior colors will be available?
It looks very nice.
Nice lines on the car, but, waiting to see the hatchback. It looks great!
Aww i love Canadian reviews ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
You didn't mention the hatchback version of the K4, which will supposedly be available in the U.S.
This will be my wife's next car👍
The wagon is not confirmed for Canada and the US says, it may come at some point. Until we see it in person, there's point in covering it.
@@andreaspencer9813dang you Canadians get nothing apparently, sucks to live in that country.
Canada better get the hatch! lol
not even buying any vehicle until Zack and Andrea review the neighbourhood ,is safe to buy 😂
Was at rhe Hyundai dealership getting a oil change and went on the floor and seen all SEL MODELS. It was nice to not see all ultimate or too trims there. A person had noticed this also and said it might make people look like they could really afford and offering from the brand. P.s live the look for easter Andrea.
Can you cover the Kia K4 Hatchback (5-Door)?
Kia and Hyundai are doing excellent designs. I like this K4. Mind you, I love my new Tucson hybrid too!!
Edit: My 2022 Ioniq 5 EV has a Bose sound system, as does the Tucson but ... night and day improvement of the sound quality on the Tucson's Bose system.
Why no manual option?
I had a 2016 Optima that had the bad window regulators in it. I traded it for a 2023 SOUL. I am definitely looking to get back to a sedan and I like what I am hearing about this K4.
What about the wagon version?
WOW! Distinguished from the Elantra -:)
Nice features and specs but will it have reliability to compare to Toyota? The elephant in the room that is not being addressed is overall cost of Vehicles today! With Homeowners and car insurance premiums skyrocketing will the average Joe be able to afford to own a car! My income is 150,000 plus and my Homeowners premium went from 2500 to 4900 in 2 years and my Truck premiums went from 1200 to 2400 even though I tripled my deductible from 500 to 1500! This is hitting the consumer hard and if it continues it will dramatically curtail affordability of houses and cars!
Sad part is that economy is doing well; problem is that big oil, insurance, and the other usual suspects are greedy and ok with blaming high prices on The Fed and current Admin. So they can run game on us all and keep us fighting. There’s been a record oil boom here in last four years. Energy costs at market are driving the rest of the consumer agony. unemployment rate is at record lows bcuz Americans like to work! US mfg productivity is nearly at 90’s level productivity…remember?…the decade we had federal budget surplus and bumped Sir Mix A-Lot?…So I agree; something is wrong for sure!
I hope Canada gets the hatchback k4 that seems to only be confirmed for the US so far. This looks great as a hatchback, has a wagon vibe to it.
Looks alright lol. Just a k5 smaller but bigger then the forte, I just have a problem with the honk horn. Doesn’t look good
Not a fan of Hyundai and Kia's recent styling language. But merging K4 and K5 are right move for Canadian market.
Yes, Korean cars have become so weird looking it's hurting sales 😮
@@davidjym the Hyundai Motor Group just announced they grew to third largest in global sales. They credit design as a major driving force.
@@JDubbs07 if they say so
@@davidjym Designed by former German company engineers not by Hyundai themselves.

Hello Dear Zack what do You know if a HYBRID versión will be available?
Since this model competes directly wirh the king of the segment THE TOYOTA COROLLA
Greetings from Lima Perú, i am praying on eastern sunday for the peace in the world.
No word from Kia if a hybrid will be available in the K4.
Would it cost more to make it an actual fastback?
Bought a new 2019 Kia Sedona because it was the value proposition. In 2023 it seems that the 'value' proposition is diminished. I will be interested to see price especially for high volume models.
Price and mpg?
Was very disappointed to learn the K5 isn't returning here to Canada, but the K4 looks pretty good as well. Lots of tech for the price. Maybe Kia will change their minds about the K5 one day, we're running out of choices for sedans.
Finally I can see what the trunk look like.

The last generation KIA Forte was being manufactured at a state of the art facility in Monterrey, Mexico, do you know if the K4 will be produced at that same facility?
It’ll be manufactured in Pesquería, Nuevo Leon.
Like the Jetta, not sure if it’s a large compact or a small mid-size.
Cadillac Celestiq inspiration
I like it, but I like the hatchback version better!
Good looking, but how do you open the rear doors.
The latches are in the rear pillar
There are hidden door handles at the bottom of the windows.
Glad they got rid of the DCT, my old elantra gt sport had so many visits to the dealership because of the DCT. Really liking the sportback look and interior. It would have been nice if they added the option for AWD and a hybrid.
What year was your Elantra?
@@shadwick2330 2018
So the GT Line is using the K5 engine.
Do you know if KIA will offer this with a manual transmission?
There will be no manual offering
There is manual.
This Kia K4 has a Toyota Camry vibe on the exterior with hidden rear door handles . Could have been a little better with the exterior chrome accents replaced with piano black. The GT Turbo with 190 Hp is a decent car. The drivers console has a luxury car look much like the Buick Envision Avenier with the panoramic sun roof. My daughter drives a 2013 Forte with over 200K kms and is finding it very difficult to replace her car with something affordable. She test drove a Mazda CX-30 base model but it didn't work out for her, so maybe she will give the K4 a look.
It looks decent I just wish it was actually a fastback!
What I'm waiting for is the Kia K-150 / Kia 1500 pickup truck
Bought my first Kia and let me tell you Honda and Nissan have serious competition.
Ok now, let's get the K3 hatch manual!
First thing this GT turbo will need is a stage one tune and get that power output well over 200hp.
Just wanted to know if Canada is getting the hatchback because it looks better.
Kia USA says they may bring it in at a later date. Kia Canada has not confirmed whether Canada will get it. I would be very surprised if Kia brings it to Canada.
The fact that it is not a fastback it is a huge missed opportunity
Love the design. Now Kia should focus on their engine and transmissions
The Elantra looks better outside, whereas Kia versions have much better interiors. 🙄💯
will there be a K4 GT?
The product planner just said a GT-Line turbo. Never mentioned a GT.
Forte was quite in 20k range I assume this will be quite experience
Very nice looking vehicle. Not bad at all but maybe not enough features. 👍🏻👍🏻☕️☕️
I'll be interested in seeing all the trims when they are released and what the price point is. It was great to see it in person.
@@andreaspencer9813 I agree what you’re saying. ☕️☕️
I'm disappointed in the engine specs. The sluggish 147hp 2L is back and the 1.6T was de-tuned. For a very sporty looking new sedan the "performance" is really subpar. All show and no go.
The more I see of it, the more I like it. Now about their reliability and engines....
No manual? Come on Kia! Keep the GT 6 speed please!
I wish more people purchased wagons. This in a wagon would be a pretty nice practical car.
Other than the terriblendash controls, it needs real buttons. All this touch and screens is just terrible.
I was thinking the same thing with those horrible "digital dashes/touchscreens".
Just more complication to fail, and more annoying to use.
Heard full loaded 33k that is totally Insane BOTTOM-LINE
The styling details are kinda weird, but overall I think it's a sharp-looking car. If the K4 hatch (I'm calling it a wagon) comes to the U.S. I will be ecstatic. Given how fancy the K4 is compared to the Forte, I foresee a big price jump coming. Can cars like this really be called "economy cars" when they're no longer the most affordable option from their respective brand?
I'd much rather have the K-5 GT with 290 HP & 310 pounds of torque, besides I prefer the mid-size version better! As far as the K4 is concerned, I like everything except that rear side panel behind the rear passenger's windows looks a bit weird, the design of the K5 with extra glass in the back is better in my opinion.
Offering a smaller version of the K5 is definitely the right move, KIA staying consistent with their designs, adopting Honda's design strtergy with the Accord & Civiic models was an excellent choice to copy.
While they already discontinued the K5 in Canada I believe it will in the US when it reaches the end of the generation. Sales have plummeted for Kia and Hyundai mid size sedans.
K5 sells more than the Sonata in the US.
@@Yubuzka3774 still both cars are well below 100k units of sales that past 2 years. And sedans are a volume segment you can’t make money only selling 60k units a year.
The design is cool. I just don't like it having a GT badge when it's only a GTline
Where’s the fire extinguisher?
This is kia's new design, the picanto and the sorento (australian market) both have the new design, waiting to see if they are going to update the design of the carnival
❤
I prefer the Sonata 2.5 8 speed 191 HP AWD for $37000 in Canada .Have one on order (Refundable deposit subject to test drive). I like the conventional non Turbo no Ivt powertrain.
This Kia has an awkward c pillar & seems "Lets just make in different" styling approach. JMHO
We are driving the refreshed Sonata this week, looking forward to it. The front looks so much better than the outgoing model.
Nice look
damn cvt. i knew they had to cheap out somewhere for it to look that good. sadly the gt turbo gets the 8 speed. why cant we get a NA engine with the 8 speed. smh.
Looks ok
Canada does not get the 2025 k5. 😢 😭 I wanted to upgrage from my 2019 forte to the k5 !
Canadian here, I too am very unhappy with this decision, I was planning on getting a K5 within the next year or two. I'm hoping Kia will do a 180 on this sometime in the future.
Take the KIA badges off and it looks like a Polestar design
K5 without guts
I think this is a brilliant new design. Perhaps the only miss being, and I am probably alone thinking this… I think the design would look even better if it had Rear Door Handles. Otherwise… absolutely brilliant. Thanks for the video.
Happy Easter!
Happy Easter to you as well. I really the fastback design, I hope it sells for Kia.
I BOUGHT A 2023 FORTE GT/AT 1.6L TURBO FOR PERFORMANCE AND IT HAS DELIVERED. IT HAS WAY TOO MUCH ELECTRONICS FOR MY TASTE.AND AS FOR STYLE I ADD MY OWN TOUCH ALWAYS. MY RIDE GETS WAY TOO MICH ATTENTION, IT HAS BEEN VANDALIZE ALREADY. BUT AS FOR THE NEW K4 ITS GORGEOUS !! BUT I DON'T
LIKE THE 11 HP REDUCTION AND THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANNY WORKS GREAT SO WHY THE CHANGE TO 8 CVT!??
i honestly prefer the forte, it was simple and not so loud.
The front half is ok, but the back portion is not a good. The hatch back looks somewhat better. I am in the minority, but i do not plan on ever owning an suv. The K4 looks like a mini crossover that is not sure of itself. Not pleased with the dct being replaced with a stadard automatic. 0 to 60 has gone up.
