Maybe Disney will give the next Battlefield some Tailspin DLC.

Out of the three, Amazon is most likely in my eyes. They have the ties and desire to get into the industry. Apple would only want the mobile side practically but could buy that seperatly? Disney has been in and out of the gaming industry so many times it would be foolish to try for the nth time instead of focusing on their core business of passive media and physical experiences. Maybe they could buy the sports IP and studios.
Honestly, splitting EA into those components and then giving it to each three would be most logical. Who knows because the market is never logical or sane...

Well. This is a fascinating look into our increasingly dystopian present.
I do agree that Disney is the most likely candidate for a buyout, if for no other reason than that they had Ursula enchant the SEC so that the SEC would never block a Disney buyout, but yeah, apart from Amazon, this is Alien-vs-Predator-"No-matter-who-wins-we-lose"-type situation (sidebar: _how fucked up is it_ that AMAZON buying out EA is the _good_ option?)
That being said I don't know if Disney would let EA's properties wither on the vine the way that EA themselves have. Disney is in the intellectual property business, and while EA's properties don't always lend themselves to a non-interactive medium Disney likely sees the value in some of EA's legacy properties among certain groups of enthusiasts, and their Disney Dollars spend just as well as anybody else's. If they could be convinced that these could be profitable as nostalgic cash-ins there's a nonzero chance we could see some classic franchises revived. Who knows, maybe a Command and Conquer Disney+ show that somehow ties into Loki was the real Endgame.
Personally I think Elon will _say_ he's going to buy it, sell the EA stock we didn't know he had, then find a way to back out of the deal and declare he now supports the American Freedom Party.

They don't have to sell out in one go; they could easily sell out piecemeal. Really the overlap of people who like Madden, FIFA (or whatever), Spore, The Sims, Peggle, and Mass Effect is probably pretty minute. So sell Maxis, EA Sports, mobile games, etc off to different studios. That'd probably be the better solution than just having Disney or whoever try to manage all that mess in one place. Maybe solicit bids or have an open day where various interested parties turn up to scheme over what bits of EA's corpse they'd prefer to have and what to do with the remainder. I mean I'd probably just want Maxis and maybe some of the sci-fi shooters; the endlessly rehashed sports games can go, even though they're probably the most profitable branch, but my loss is someone's gain and maybe I'd get a discount on Maxis because of it.

It makes some sense for Apple to buy EA considering they do have some interest in gaming. They recently revealed the Metal 3 api with a focus on game related changes, such as DLSS, more direct memory access to the GPU, better Raytracing support, and actual compatibility with C++. It could make sense for them to buy a gaming company to create AAA/mobile games exclusively for them

I could see Disney looking into some of EA's franchises for potential new projects, but the only idea that comes to mind would be a Mass Effect TV show for Disney+ or Hulu (preferably Hulu since then it wouldn't have to be family-friendly), and after seeing the Halo TV show, I don't really want another TV adaptation of a popular space game anytime soon. I dunno, maybe a Need for Speed movie to compete with Fast and the Furious? Digging the bottom of the barrel here, especially since a Need for Speed movie exists and sucks ass. Honestly, I wouldn't be against Disney acquiring EA, but given Lucasfilm Games's current strategy of licensing Star Wars and other Lucasfilm properties to not only EA but also other developers (Ubisoft and Quantic Dream are both working on Star Wars games, and Bethesda's got an Indiana Jones game in the works), I dunno if Disney would want to buy EA just for making licensed games. The whole reason they license their franchises to other developers now is because they used to make their own games and had a difficult time doing it.

Great vid, just gotta correct one thing for ya: Warner Bros was not split from Time Warner.
AT&T acquired Time Warner and rebranded it as WarnerMedia, then spun it off to merge with Discovery. Discovery single-handedly decided they’d rebrand as Warner Bros Discovery because they have full control of the new company. It was effectively an acquisition by Discovery rather than a merger. All of legacy Time Warner is still present in this new company. The confusion in the naming is similar to AT&T deciding to name the WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max even though the service also includes Warner Bros and Turner content.
All this said, Comcast spinning off NBC Universal to merge with EA would be similar to AT&T spinning off WarnerMedia to merge with Discovery. If EA had full control of the new company, then it would be exactly like Warner Bros Discovery.
    Just to clarify 👍

I remember Bullfrog from a game I love (Popoulous 3) and so many Peter Molinoux games. When MS bought Minecraft I stopped playing (for a while, tho when I do play I stil play earlier versions of the game - 1.7.10 with a lot of mods, to be precise). I have never played a Disney property game (tho my sister has played Kingdom Hearts) in my entire life and I don't see myself playing them. Man, I miss the PS2. Mine was struck by lighting (I was playing MetalGear 2) and I lost it forever.

EA can sell anything literally anywhere, including where Disney doesn't have any importance whatsoever (gamers). It can also survive pretty much anything they are a lot like a cockroach. This would be a very easy win in terms of corporate restructuring.
