- There are 2 reasons why these 2 neighborhoods are my favorite in The Villages....location & view!
and fyi, I do not live in either one 😜 although we do have a house in The Villages that we bought in January 2022 that we love but does not have the view or location that these 2 have to one of the main town squares.

That is Florida in General. I move to the Sarasota area 20 years ago an where I lived it was not crowded and cows on the corner, now a mall and massive restaurants and shopping and they just keep building on every little piece of land. I I could I'd get out of FLA
@@cherylzaccone9685 really true overall but you really have to do some research. Lived here all my life and we left Jax / st. Aug as it was getting ridiculous regarding dense housing. I can't do that😜😉

The original people who bought those houses back when they first came out really made out!!! They really are in a prime location though! 😊

There's a neighborhood in Panama City Beach Florida which reminds me of the first neighborhood. The houses are more colorful in PCB. Some houses have mailboxes which look like a miniature of the house it belongs to. So cute! They have their own private beach on the Gulf.
Good to know about the walk! We walked everywhere we could find in lake sumter, but missed this. Will do that walk for sure.

Love the beautiful houses, big trees, attractive landscaping and that gorgeous lake! The little town is pretty, too. Definitely a good investment. I notice the homes are a little close to one another so hopefully, the residents get along well.
Yup very expensive to have no property but that’s most subdivisions in fla. nowadays!

Hi Angela, i really enjoyed the tour, you should be a real estate agent with all your knowledge. I'm from Illinois and we take a mini vacation to the Ludington, Manistee area in the Fall, some of those cute houses remind me of the house's there. I think we could be snowbirds in the Winter we area thinking of moving to the Western part of Michigan. I couldn't handle the heat in the Florida Summer's. Take Care to all.
I thought the same thing Angie. Those houses remind me of ones you see up north in Michigan along the water. Western MI is very pretty. My daughter went to college in Grand Rapids and that has a lot of nice areas. Holland is a cute little town as well.

I love those plantation shutters too! They really give a great look! Most of the landscaping in the villages is kind of like Disney, it is so neat and well manicured here all the time!

There are 10 homes in The Cottages at Lakeshore that have lake views. Given the A+ location and different home style, I'm wondering if this village was built for The Villages Holding company executives?

Hey Angela, thanks for the video tour, much appreciated! We’re interested in visiting The Villages some day and in a couple years possibly being seasonal “for now” because we love the nice weather when we can get out on the no-wake lake where we live up north. (Winters I don’t love, the cold was too much this year, it’s still going to be in the 40’s this week, but was nice yesterday and today, woot!)
I’m devouring all the videos I can on TV for now to learn and gain perspective. I had to laugh, and paused the video at the beginning to show my hubby the earrings you are wearing. I have the exact same pair, and they are one of my faves. My wardrobe also looks like the top you have on, with the beautiful subtle, flowy shades. :)
That is how we felt too Ann. We had had enough of MI winters since we have pretty much lived there all of our lives. We just wanted to get out of the cold in the winter months. We still love MI in the summertime. We are boaters too. Lol, that is fun that you have the same earrings!! 🤣👍🏻. The dress I am wearing, I actually got from Walmart. I love that floral pattern too.

Prices are going crazy! Of course closer to the squares the prices are higher. My parents keep threatening to sell their house in the village of Glenbrook and move in with us! 😂

Beautiful neighborhoods...when I did my lifestyle preview visit several years ago, the house I stayed in was on Merriweather Way off of Old Camp Road. I can't remember what the neighborhood was called. I could easily walk to Lake Sumter Landing. I loved to sit on the lanai & watch the golf carts zip by on the golf cart path behind the house.

That's Creekside Landing(s?). Love the style of those houses. Way too expensive when they decided to sell them. Location, location, location.

For some reason, I thought the Villages was a retirement community, but these look like massive family homes.
There are some that are definitely bigger than others but generally they tend to be around 1,500-2,500 square feet.
4/25/22 These are not indicative of the types of houses in TV. They are niche neighborhoods for people with money. Of course there are million+ houses in the 'Prestige' house villages.
I though you went back "home". Are you now going to be in the Villages full time? Or did you just come back for awhile?

We did go back home....for 2 weeks. It was still too cold and cloudy everyday so we came back down for a few more weeks. We will be back up north for most of the summer.
I don't like the walkway behind all the houses, no privacy, not that I would be doing anything weird, LOL
What's the house owner insurance like in villages?
Hi Angela, I thought you just returned home and now you are back in Florida...for some reason I thought you were staying home in summer and Florida in winter, where I got that I have no idea
We came back down a couple of weeks ago but are leaving again in about a week. We will then be back up north most of the summer except when our furniture finally comes in for down here. Will be back in Fl again in the fall. 😊👍🏻

The area Lake Sumptner Landing I noticed had to where to park. That would drive me crazy.
There are some bigger parking lots right behind some of the buildings so there is definitely more than you see just from the storefront side 😊👍🏻

You showed a Barnes and Noble on your tour. Is there a library in the villages? Would be interested in seeing that.
There are 2 libraries in The Villages...one on Highway 466 and one on Highway 466A. With the way The Villages is growing south of Highway 44, I bet at some time in the future there will be a library built south of 44.
There is also the Mark Twain library by the Paradise Rec Center in the northern end of The Villages.

Summers in Central Florida are very humid. If you are thinking of living there year round, I would plan a visit for a week or 2 in July or August to see how you do. I have done this several times to test how I do.

We are going to find out first hand how the summers are when we come down in July for a couple weeks. A lot of our furniture is coming in at that time so it will be interesting to test how hot it is. I feel like it is getting pretty hot now. We walk in the mornings and the past couple of days, I said to my husband, boy, we need to be done walking by 8:30-9am at the latest!! 😜

Is 'The Villages' a 'city'? I wish my husband would agree to move to FL. I already live in a wonderful beach city neighborhood in CA. But CA is so ridiculously left. I grew up here and it would be hard to leave but I hate the politics here
The Villages is a huge retirement community down here in FL. It is over 34 miles long I think. Our address does say....the villages for the city. If you love the beach, it is only about an hour and a half away. Easy to do day trips but the golf cart community is pretty fun.
Personally I don't think either of the 2 houses was worth it. If you want to check out unique neighborhoods, try Harmeswood and Hickory Head Hammock.
When Angela talks about going to "town," in this instance she was talking about Lake Sumter Landing. It's a square which has nightly dancing with live bands or DJs from 5-9. The Bait Shacks are where you purchase your drinks. The oldest square is Spanish Springs to the North & Brownwood Paddock to the South.
Ive seen tRump rally’s in the Villages. It’s comical all of the racist decorating their golf carts and screaming election deniers. What’s next? Repeal voting rights for minorities it’s and cross burning? It probably was brought up in some circles there

Hi Gabby! Our home in FL was just intended to be for the winters for now although we have been down here now for 4 months. We are planning to head back up north for the summer soon though and will be back down in the fall 🥳
Is this village under an HOA or other?
Did you get the HOA permission to film these homes? There is a NO trespassing ordinance in gated communities. The reason the homeowners pay for the gated security. Looks like nice one story homes with painted wood like siding. Not too impressed. SIENA in Las Vegas, NV has one story homes on a golf course with waterscaping that are GORGEOUS!!
Every neighborhood in the villages is gated, even ours. If you own a home here, you get a pass card that allows you to go into ANY of the neighborhoods

Thank you Tammy! I have made it through some hard times myself. I had constant chronic pain for 4 1/2 years. It was not fun at all so I can relate. Peoples lives on social media are not always what they seem.I am not sure there are many people who have had absolutely perfect lives.
