Nike S.B. | Remembering Sandy Bodecker

- Since working his way up from a footwear tester at Nike in the 80s, Sandy Bodecker left his mark on everything from running to soccer at the Swoosh. His most lasting legacy, though, was giving skaters a voice at Nike and building SB from a crazy idea into what it is today.
With an outsized personality, a stubborn will and two middle fingers always in the air, if it was impossible, Sandy was the guy to get it done. He helped shape everything that Nike SB has become: from the team of riders to the way we think about the shoes themselves.
Although he passed away in October of 2018, his fingerprints are still all over everything we do here at Nike SB. This is our tribute to the man who put the SB in Nike SB. Respect.

Such an epic piece, I didn't know about Sandy. Massive fan now.
What an inspiring guy.
Nike SB America, Mexico, Australia, Japan, Europe..... Amazing!
A legend, he’ll always be remembered
Despite the hate he got, without him we would never had the dunks and the
SB brand
We would have laughed in the old days if someone said this man and his team would take it global in such a respectful way!
Eliud Kipchoge brought me here.....he dedicated his INEOS 159 CHALLENGE to SANDY BODECKER.......RIP Sandy.
Thank you Sandy
Dang, what a beautiful soul :)

Never met Sandy or any of these guys but from just a fan of skateboarding 🛹 snowboarding 🏂 surfing 🏄 and rock climbing 🧗♂️ thank you very much for letting me know, as well as all who genuinely care about other humans, about this wonderful kind human being. I’m so happy that Nike put this together in honor of Sandy so all of us that didn’t know about him, could learn about this guy and how much of an impact he had while here on this planet and in this dimension. Amen. Peace be with all of you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙂
I grew up skating in the early 80s all through the 90s and early 2000s and I was real skeptical when Nike came into the picture but they did it the right way
Amazing!
Amazing, Sandy did so much for so many ppl its insane. He created an outlet for me as a collector to bond with new friends and kept me away from bad times in my life and I'm sure thousands of others. Much love and respect he will be greatly missed
Beautiful video
Never did he know of Sandy Bodecker....RIP now I know what S.B. really stands for
it still does stand for skateboarding lol. acronyms can have more than one meaning. The SB's evolved quickly into skateboarding and it's clearly recognized to mean that as well
the embodiment of a true visionary. He made the Dunk my absolute favorite sneaker of all time.
This is such a profound celebration of his life. YL2SI

Nike is about sports money.
They'll suck every ounce of Life from the form while it has value.
