I've decided to "smooth" the firewall on the '55 a bit, and in this video we get started with that. We've got holes to fill, a small patch to make, and things get a bit hot near the end...
Another subscriber that saw your win on DD's speed shop. I have a 56 2 door sports coupe that I have owned for 33 years and we are doing some much needed repairs on. I had a 55 sedan delivery roller that I wanted to do something with. Got married and we needed the money so we sold it for $100. My wife mentions quite regularly how dumb we were and how she would like it back.
Hello Brad found out about your channel from DD Speed Shop, looking forward to your videos. Take care, Rick Beatty from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada.
Hi mate, my name is Adrian and im from Australia. Im also a subscriber from DD speed Shop and i enjoyed watching your show or smoothing of the firewall. So i have hit the subscribe button too and look forward to watching more of your shows. By the way im a Mopar nut and have built two valiants of my own, but i do like the old 50s chevs. Keep up the good work 👍🍻
I'm new here, because of your recent win as well. Congrats! Good advice on the fire look and think, my buddy lit his 65 Chevy C10 pickup up in the air on a lift, welding on the bottom of it. Good you got lucky, live and learn. He was lucky as well, but a little worse on smoke and damage than yours and a whole lot of panic.
Man that could have been bad . I was building a door for a shed and needed to grind the hinge just a little . Went to the house for ten minutes and came up on some saw dust fixing to flame . It's to easy to do . Stay safe .
I would weld up just about all the holes, even the hearter holes. If you run a aftermarket heater/air you will want to hide them hoses. Trust me you will want some thing like dynamat. The best deal I found was on Amazon and it is FatMat. You get 100sq.ft.x80ml (w/roller,knife,and inst). you can throw away that roller and buy you a good (wooden) roller. But that is plenty to do a whole interior, from top to bottom. I know because I have used it on a 68 firebird. It will come in two rolls. But it will get hot in that car witout it.Also you may want to remote your fusebox and hide your wires. The holes can always be drilled out wheere you want them. I hope this helps. If you use copper on the back side, you will only have to grind one side Ronnie.
I currently don't have any plans for aftermarket heat or air on the '55, so will probably leave the heater hose holes. Thanks for the tip on the FatMat. I'll look into that for sure!
Sorry man. Somehow just saw this comment. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I've seen a bit of "Black Sheep" and I'll definitely be going back to see more. Badass pickup!
Thanks for watching man. Yeah those rotisserie are pricey. Mine is an older Auto Twirled brand. Luckily I got mine used from a buddy, so didn't have to pay full price. I sure am glad I have it. Worth every penny for sure.
I know right? I actually had just watched him say that like a couple days before. Well, I know now it's a GREAT rule to follow! Thanks for watching Rodney.

Man that was a close call. Glad it was caught
Yep, got lucky for sure. My shop didn't burn, but that lesson got burned into my brain for sure.
Well I'll definitely be more careful next time cause my garage is attached to my house! Glad everything turned out well. Damnn 😳
Yeah. I know better but definitely an eye opener. Coulda been bad...
