    I love this idea. A smaller steering wheel would give another "click" of clearance for my drivers' captain seat to move frontwards when swiveled.
    I've still not finished my 12v power/volt meter/usb charger port interface install on my Master II.
    I'm undecided where to route the power cable.
    I want to allow more current draw (than the old 12v socket) so would like to run the cable to an aftermarket fuse box, then through the floor and then into the battery-box under the cab floor.
    I just need to put it up on ramps to determine routing/viability.

    What is the cupholder mod you have there? I'm fed up with coffee spilling in the door pocket!

      It's from eBay and you trim the back plate sides, so it fits in the try underneath.👍🏻

    Is it not harder to turn now with a smalker steerig wheel?

    • @masterman007
      @masterman007  Před 8 dny

      No, because of the power steering it feels OK still.👍🏻

    thanks for the video!
    i also have a mk2 master (although pre facelift, 2003). i know 2008 was the changeover year on the megane, was it the mk2 or mk3 wheel that you swapped for? i wouldnt have thought they would change the fitment between models, but didn’t want to get caught out buying the wrong one. thanks
    in advance

    Where did you get the cup holder for the centre?

    Hi there, nice video but I think you are wrong about the green connector being for the horn. On the megane the airbag is a 2 stage, so has 2 connectors blue and green. The horn is a much bigger 2 wire (black and red wire) connector.

    • @orio_3
      @orio_3 Před 4 měsíci

      Is there any issue if that green connector is not connected then?

    • @shmavitz
      @shmavitz Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@orio_3 No, not really - you can connect the van to either the blue or green. The airbag light will go out, and will work if needed, but the only thing is that in the event of a collision the airbag will only ever fire one stage as intended if it were in a low speed collision and only half inflate.

      @shmavitz thanks for the reply, so I guess the solution is "don't crash" 😂 I'm thinking of putting a mk3 clio sport wheel onto a mk4 clio, do you think it would work okay?

    • @shmavitz
      @shmavitz Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@orio_3 😂 yeah, or at least only have a low speed crash. I don't know the Clio well, but it should be ok if the MK3 wheel is 2 stage. You will have an issue if the wheel is 1 stage and you try to fit to a car that is 2 stage - work around is to fit a resistor to the wire without a plug or just wire them together so that if either fire then the bag will deploy.

      @orio_3 Před 4 měsíci

      @shmavitz thanks for the info, and yeah as far as I know the mk4 has a 2 stage system and the mk3 only has 1, I think anyway. For safety I'd say having full deployment might be better if I wire them together, but is there no risk of shorting the system and having it deploy in my face if I wire them together? 😂

    hi nice, i hate the huge steering wheel in mine. Do you think it be possible to extend the wires from your cruise control switch to the steering wheel?

    • @masterman007
      @masterman007  Před 11 měsíci

      Hi, thank you, I think the wiring would be a pain as it's trying to overcome the wires turning with the wheel that's the problem, I won't bother as I'm happy with the cruise switches on the dash.👍🏻

      Whilst Tony thinks that it would be a pain due to twisting, I can't see how it'd be any different to the existing wiring for the airbag etc. (From a twist perspective.)
      You'd think that the wiring for the cruise switches would be at least adaptable, if not compatible.
      You would want to put the wires into one of those corrugated black ducting pipes to protect the wires from potential abrasion I'd imagine.

      The airbag doesn't have wires as these would also twist, it has what they call a clock spring to make an electrical connection. 👍🏻
