  • The Gannel is a tidal estuary that separates the tourist hot spot of Newquay and Crantock village with the River Gannel itself flowing into the sea over the expansive Crantock.
Established in 1910 the Fern Pit Cafe & Ferry is a family run business, on the bank of the River Gannel between East Pentire headland and Crantock Beach.
Covering most of the Gannel and including Penpol Creek and Crantock Beach, Fistral Beach can be seen on the other side of the Pentire headland in the distance.

    My literal childhood playground.
