  • The fourth march in my series of fife and drum music: "Marches des Nations à la Guerre de Sept Ans" ("Marches of the Nations of the Seven Years War"), composed by me in the style of the 18th century. The music is inspired by the combattants of the Seven Years War (1756-1763).
This one has the title "L'Irlandaise" - "the Irish". The image, a montage of pictures from the "Vinkhuijzen Collection", depicts soldiers from the "Régiment Dillon" (left) and the "Régiment Fitz-James" (right), two Irish regiments in French service during the Seven Years War.
    Enjoy!

From an age of elegance, where the marching tunes tugged at the heart as one formed up to face the foreign Johnnie’s musketry and cannon fire

No wonder they needed some cheerful music to brace them for the charge!

From the age of a viscous and vitriolic oppression of European population by those upper class aristocracy thugs who thought of Thier people as cannon fodder to hurl at each other to satisfy Thier outrages blood lust /I most respectfully beg to differ but it wasn't the age of elegance but barbarity

Winston Churchill referred to the Seven Years War as the "First World War." In many ways it was, the war was fought throughout Europe, North America, and in India.

Indeed! I think it's an interesting but very overlooked conflict.

Is this a historical march or have you made it yourself? Either way it's bloody good been listening to it nonstop during my walks. So glad to find your channel there's really not enough Fife and drum on CZcams.

It's something I made up myself, but I was very inspired by Irish folk music! :) Thanks a lot, I'm really glad you enjoy it! I agree about CZcams needing more fife and drum!
