Hmmm…. I am not an Hermes girl, they are just too boxy for me, but I know a lot of people love their products. I find the inflation argument a bit thin, the profit margin is very very healthy for leather goods, but the kicker for me is that when “inflation” goes down no one lowers their prices accordingly, do they?
I don’t mind the increase as they are normally moderate as for the Birkin 40 maybe the reason influencers are pushing this size is because they are readily available meaning no waitlist 😊
I’ve been tempted to buy a B40 lately, I’m glad I waited and really thought about it because I don’t really know what I would use it for. I don’t think it’s going to be as big of a trend as some influencers are saying. But if it does, I hope it brings down the size 25 pre-loved prices because I want a Kelly 25 😂
Gossip #3 --- Influencer who lives in Milan & has a flat in Paris, explained that Paris/Hermes quota for *her* is 1 quota bag per quarter this a total of 4 quota bags per year. 😎
The B40 is good for men, maybe they are expecting a big uptick in men's purchases? Otherwise I agree with you the 40 is not practical for anything but travel.

Wow --- just found you when I needed you --- hope you don't mind a couple questions: 1) your B35 is what colour blue? 2) is it possible to guess the weight of it in lbs? 3) Just a few wks ago, an influencer I follow went crazy when she bought a B40 --- I love her, but I thought wait a minute, your tiny, very slim, at most 5'6" (w heels 5'8") ... How are you going to lug that around? I understand Hermes is extremely popular, but shouldn't one be practical. Then I thought this big bag thing must be a 2023 TREND!?! Now you have helped me with my dilemma 💕💙💕

Love this vid & to be totally honest I think the birkin 40 thing is 10000% some sort of strange propaganda 🙃… MAYBE I’ll be eating my words later this year but I just don’t think it’s practical for anything but travel or the gym & I’d NEVER want to use a bag so precious in environments that are innately dirty!
Unless someone is ready to throw away $10k for nothing 😅
I think the price rise is expected, and I’m not mad about it. Like you, I would rather not, but it is not surprising. The price rises at other fashion houses are “scandalous” because 1) they are generally hefty across the board, and 2) they happen multiple times per year at seemingly random intervals.
I’m very interested to see what happens on the shoe and belt prices since I’m got several pairs on my wish list 🙈
I am a luxury handbag enthusiast, but I am not a fan of the style of the Hermès handbags. Just not for me. So, the price increase and quota bag system doesn’t matter to me.
The Birkin 40 seems quite large.
I have a question for you. You mention that you buy your preloved Hermes bags below retail price. Would you let me know how you do that? Where do you find birkins priced like that? Thank you so much for any info or help to point me in the right direction.
I have numerous videos where I reveal my Hermes bags and where I got them and what I paid. I also have a video of places I recommend looking for Hermes under retail. For example, A casual browse of fashionphile will show you Hermes Birkins under retail! I also recommend rebag (with their coupons) and eBay (mainly Japanese resellers which I also have a video about). It’s important to remember (and you will see in my collection) that I have not bought a Birkin 25 in black with gold hardware (for example) under retail. They are normally bigger size bags and a more diverse colors (like red and blues)- so keep your eyes open for that! Good luck and happy hunting 😊

I feel sad their price increase. Especially on quota bags and fine jewelry pieces. I don’t see people wear Birkin 40 either. It actually same size as Louis Vuitton Neverfull GM. Maybe it is good for travel. My SA also told me that only 1 per year. Thank you so much for sharing darling. Very interesting video. 💕
I’m team b40 all the way. It was the first Birkin I got and love it regardless of trend hype.

@@bargain.hunting.blonde no I don’t think it’s too heavy but admittedly ‘I’m strong like bull’. Seriously my younger years of being an athlete have paid off, muscle memory is alive and kicking for me. I initially purchased it for traveling but I find myself wearing it more often than that, for daily outings even. Mine is a Togo leather and I really think that leather is the best of all worlds.
I can’t see the 40 being a thing personally. It’s just too bulky.
Also one quota bag per year is fine for me. More than enough. I can’t afford two per year + pre spend 🤯

Yes I am not sure! I know in general people are shopping the higher price points less due to worry about the economy.

I have them insured under our homeowners insurance. I think if your collection gets to a certain point it makes sense 😊
The Hermes price increases do not bother me at all because I am not in the league to buy Hermes bags for at least another five years and even then I would rather go to Europe than put the money into a bag! Having said that, if I earned double the money I do earn, I would buy Hermes (not Chanel). I could not be bothered with all the effort you have to put into buying Hermes from the boutiques and I am too cheap to pay an excessive price on the secondary market (though i would buy 2ndry if the bag was significantly cheaper). There seems to be no logic to the Hermes system. It seems to vary according to the caprice of the individual boutique and whether they like the buyer. I am male, short, over-weight and not at all elegant, very working class 'bloke' LOL! I cannot imagine them liking me as a client! Thank you for the video!
