My daughter has an S1. Totally awesome bit of kit for gigging & just as a huge bluetooth speaker. Seems to have stood the test of time, probably had it 3 to 4 years. Still sounds great, simple & never had any feedback issues.

We think the same about the S1. Simply awesome speaker! 🤘

I have the S1 Pro and have used it for years. For live performances I run my vocals and acoustic through a Boss ve8 then into the S1. I also run a Beat Buddy into the Aux. Works great!

Great shout with the beat buddy!
Vocals through these speakers is always spot on 👌

I have a pair of L1 PRO 8s as a stereo pair for main FOH playback and a pair of S1 PROs as foldback monitors along with an Allen & Heath desk. It all sounds great, covers most venues that wouldn’t have a house PA without a problem and it all fits in the back of a Volvo C30. I also love not having to run power cables to the S1 PROs. NOTHING else has covered all those bases to date. It also looks great and people always comment (positively) on the sound.
I’ve always used high end JBL, RCF and Dynacord and I used to sneer at Bose… not anymore!

S1 pro not loud enough for real live shows. Perfect for at home in the house or on the patio. Bose L1 Compact is the very best. It's much better than all the new array systems. Bose needs to release the Big Brother version of the s1 Pro

Thanks for the comment. Looking for something compact that will make the plane ride restriction check list. Including battery, so i will keep looking.. cause this is the 2nd comment i see on the volume not being loud enough

Not True ! S1-pro can cover around 50 people and add a small sub 👍

@@jimilee4609 I play on a patio to about 100 or so and have to turn down. (Electric through floor processor)
For acoustic it might need some sort of pre-amp/processor.

For a gig do you put the instruments through a mixer or is it just for vocals?

I am a former employee on the retail from 03-06 and the OG L1s were audition for us with a live band before they were released. They were actually called The cylindrical radiators.Thankfully they were renamed to The L1. We were all impressed by them. I can't believe it's been that long. Good times

Could you use the s1 pro at a gig, with loud drums?

    • @antithesis2211

Not by itself, you will need a couple. We tried it just yesterday at a park!

    • @wileym
      @wileym Před 7 měsíci

I use it in a band on a patio and smallish gigs. Drummer not that loud though.
I use it with a digital floorboard and electric guitar.

What is the power on these? isn't 45w a bit too small? Or is it not the same rubbish wattage we're used to being sold as real wattage?

I buy 2 bose s1 pro plus with the sub. & there not loud enough to cover 100 people with vocals. Made in china & the cheapest u can buy in china

  • @stavrospapadimitriou7631

If the Bose S1 had a half-decent mixer it would be awesome. Sadly the on-board mixer is frankly miserable. No phantom, 2-band EQ and the Tonematch options are a joke. Also the mixer sounds really bad. Compare it to a cheap Behringer and the Behringer pisses all over it. If you bypass the mixer and use the Aux input with an external mixer they can actually sound OK but there is no way Bose can justify the price!
