I'm so glad I stumbled across your page! I absolutely adore old lace, linen, embroidery, etc. It's just so beautiful. I have a small collection & I love every piece. My aunt taught me embroidery when I was 12yrs old mega yrs ago & I'm so thankful she did. My husband's grandmother passed away when she was 99yrs old & her mother taught her how to sew & make beautiful pieces like the ones u have. Before they immigrated from Austria, her mother worked as a lace maker. My husband's grandmother told me how her mother would bring pieces home for her & her sister to work on. I actually have a couple of pieces his grandmother designed & sewed herself. I don't recall her exact age, at the time, but I remember she was under 10yrs old! His grandmother even taught me how to crochet. I'm in the process of crocheting trim on my pillow cases now. I was extremely fortunate that she shared her gift with me. Thank you for sharing your pieces! I so enjoyed them!
Life can get in the way of good intentions...I'm experiencing this myself. I have plenty of supplies on hand, my creative head is loaded with ideas...but I'm not getting anything done. 14 cents a yard...verifies the age of these laces. All I have is new laces...so I'm researching tea and coffee dying. Maybe doing something new will jumpstart my creativity. Thank you for showing us your treasures...much appreciated!

Beautifully, heavenly. What an amazing find Sheila. I have just found you from Diane Hubert's recent video showing a stunning bundle of trims she purchased from you. Love each and every piece of this lace. Looks like they finally found their proper home; someone who loves and cherishes beautiful laces as much as the original owner obviously did.
It's a shame you don't make something with them to wear and show these fine laces to the world. I too love lace, I wear it a lot. Made a blouse entirely out of different laces, when no longer wearable I just roll them in tissue for future amazement.
Oh yes, I too love all things lace. Such a wonderful treasure you have found. I also would love to see you destash some wallpaper samples, they are as fascinating as lace at times. It is so kind of you to think of sharing.
