1:11 The queen is incorrectly placed. It ranks between the Jack and the King.

I've made a 3 player Variant of this that I call Doublewhist:
Each player gets 17 cards and the last card that's out of the game determines the trump suit.
The players play 9 tricks: In the first 8 tricks every player plays their cards in pairs and only in the last trick they play their one remaining card.
In playing the cards in pairs the bottom one determines the suit and has to follow suit, but its rank doesn't matter.
The top one determines the rank and doesn't have to follow suit, it's suit doesn't matter for one exception.
If both cards in the pair are in the trump suit, it becomes super trump which is a tier higher than normal trump.
The last trick is played under normal Whist rules and counts as one normal trick despite having fewer cards.
At the end of a round each player gets their trick amount minus 3 as points.

This sounds pretty fun. Have you been able to play it much?

You are probably thinking of bid whist.

@@riffleshuffleandroll so lets say opponent bid a 2...thats 8 books if they get it its 2 points. But if they get set i would need 6 books then every book after the 6 is a point...i forget how it is exactly..its either once you set them you get their bid skip one then it a point each and every one..for example..6 is the set amount. I get the 6 so i got their 2 points. Now if i get another 1 its a skip but everyone after that would be a point..so if i got 8 books that would be a 3 for me...6 set skip the 7th then 8th books gives me extra for 3... Everybody ive ever played whist with always had a set point procedure ...or it was 6 for set then skip then 7th is the 2 points and a point for every one after. Do you know of this style..im from Massachusetts but its played the same in NH as well..

@@ezquad959 This sounds like Bid Whist to me. You bid on how many tricks you are going to take, bid winner must get that or they are set.
