I enjoyed listening to this podcast. Dr. Buse touched on some topics that have crossed by mind briefly but hearing her speak about it out loud made it make more sense to me. It was interesting to learn how many different ways anxiety can affect someone. I downloaded the gad7 anxiety questionnaire and found out that my anxiety results and levels is something worth discussing with a professional. Thank you for this enlightening podcast.

I had serious migraine most of my life. When I was 70, I thought I was having heart attacks but was finally diagnosed with anxiety. I was in to denial for a long time and my fear was if I have heart problems I can't take Imitrex, which I depended upon. Once I accepted the anxiety diagnosis I learned all I could about it. My migraine symptoms disappeared and from then on, I have learned to live with anxiety. I have made many life style changes and have reasonable control over my anxiety to live a normal life. Anxiety may come and go very similarly to how migraine used to come and go.
I do believe they arise from the same need and I hope to see more research in the area. I believe the stigma of anxiety as mental illness kept me from acknowledging it. I am now 79. Sadly, both migraine and anxiety are very painful and disabling.
