Damp Rid works great in my 13’ Scamp
I use a dehumidifier in my shower as well, they work great in an RV.
Definitely, good to have in wet/humid conditions. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
We use a Vremi 4500sqft dehumidifier in our 34 foot Grand Design Reflection 5th wheel. Yes its oversized but it doesn’t have to work hard at all to keep the humidity at 45% or what ever level you set. We also open vents and use exhaust fans when showering and cooking. We also cook outside 95% of the time.
Good methods! Thanks for watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing.
good info. thanks for no music and unnecessary gab
We're glad you enjoyed our video. Thanks for watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing. Happy travels.
We live in ours and shower at the gym, have damprid, air dryers, eva dri and hypervent material under mattress. No problem.
That's great. You're on top of the matter. 👍🏻 Thanks for watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing. Happy travels.
definitely
Thanks for educating us :)
You're welcome. Thanks for watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing. :)
Great Info!
Thank you. We're glad you enjoyed it. :)
Y'all are so cool! Thanks for the info! PEACE OUT !!!
Thanks for watching and your kind comments, as always. :)
We have a large household dehumidifier in storage. I think it may be way bigger than what we need, but Its getting unbearable with our clothes in the closet and things in the cupboard getting wet! Thanks for the video, Great job :)
We're glad you enjoyed our video. We have really appreciated using our dehumidifier. It really is a tremendous help. Thanks for watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing.
Another helpful video guys! We are soon going to be shopping for a Class C RV. I'm assuming that RV's now have exhaust fans in the bathrooms but that's something we'll have to make sure about. Keep up the terrific videos...they are very informative!
We're glad you're enjoying our videos. The exhausts fans do seem to be quite standard in most RV models. Thank you for watching, liking, and commenting. :)
I'm trying a Dry Wave 1000 Air Dryer. It's suppose to dehumidify 1k ft. So far it seems to be doing a good job keeping my 35' 5th wheel around 40% and it uses 120 watts. I bought it off of Amazon for about $60. Thanks for the video. Good stuff!
The Dry Wave 1000 is designed for space up to 1000 *cubic* feet or 100 square feet: amzn.to/2s6xNwX We're glad you enjoyed this video. Thanks for watching and commenting.
A medium sized dehumidifier only draws about 10 amps and can handle a 600 sq ft space. I run mine after I shower for about 2 hours and it drops the humidity down to 30%. Are you sure your air dryer is drawing 120 watts?? If so, I'd get rid of it and opt for a dehumidifier instead.
Bernie, was the underwear yours or Susan's!! Haha. Love the outtakes. I always enjoy your informative videos. Very precise and to the point.
We share nearly everything - what's hers is mine and vice versa :D Glad you enjoy the videos and take the time to always comment. We always have tons to say, but try to keep in as concise as possible. Thanks for watching this one. :)
That's funny.
LOVE your wit!
This was a great video. I appreciate the info. When the humidity is up my hair looks like a poodle! LOL Susan, you look beautiful in this video. Blue is your color!!!!
We're glad you enjoyed this video. Thank you so much for the wonderful compliment. That's so sweet of you. [Putting on blue now] Thanks for watching this one and sharing your kind comments. :)
great!!! information. You are 100% on the mark. I'm always concerned about humidity. I like the way you drain the humidifier. Question for you, we are going to a 41' toy hauler with a large glass door to enter the garage area with a half bath, if I put the humidifier in the front full bath (connected to front bedroom) and keep the door to the garage area will it pull the moisture that far away or will I need two. Thanks in advanced for you thoughts
We've noticed a reduction in humidity across the distance of our RV entire (by using the sensors - for those interested see video description). However, it's going to be more effective in the immediate area. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
@ Michael (with all due respect):
1. DEhumidifier
2. "If I....keep the door to the garage area will it pull the moisture that far away...." I assume you meant keep the door to the garage area *_open_* ? Not trying to be the Grammar Police, but in this case you're missing a rather crucial adjective there.
I should always read my message before sending them and yes I did mean if keep the door open to the garage will one dehumidifier work for the entire unit. sometimes it's difficult using my phone and I should slow down that's why I can't wait to travel and relax a little bit more and hopefully slow down a little bit. my wife and I plan on traveling in about 2 years currently we both work 60 plus hours a week. You two are very inspirational and informative. Thank you
I keep my dehumidifier in my shower and run just the fan for the air conditioner to circulate the air. Try running your a/c (fan only) closest to the garage area. This will draw moist air in from the garage area more efficiently than expecting a little dehumidifier to pull air that far.
Good info but love the bloopers at the end.
Thanks Roger. Glad you enjoyed this one. :)
This is a topic hubby & I butt heads over. He doesn't think humidity will hurt our RV since it's closed up and sits in the sun all day. But he usually will shower in the bathhouses when we stay at campgrounds. LOL I don't get him! He won't even run the A/C and the RV stays plugged in all the time!
Great info. I see many videos by RV'ers saying those tiny dehumidifiers work well because they take a cup of water out of their RV's a week. Not one of them has a humidity meter in their vehicle but unless they were in a cold or extremely dry environment the difference would be minimal. I totally agree about not sealing up a van, the feeling of a the night air or a breeze on the face makes me wake up so much more refreshed, I don't use heaters and just wear more clothes if I am cold. Passive ventilation also works well, a vent at the front and the rear of a vehicle would work wonders, especially when driving.
Thanks for watching and sharing your insight. We appreciate you taking the time to comment. Thanks for liking and subscribing. More to come ...
I've used a dehumidifier before and it seemed to be sucking moisture through my walls from the outside so don't really know what else I should do LOL
Well that's not good. Seems like a more arid location is the fix. Thanks for watching, liking, commenting, and subscribing. 🙂
Good common sense advice here.
Thank you.
YOU AND YOUR WIFE Look Good. Mike
Thanks Mike. We're glad you're still watching our videos. :)
Living in western Oregon, moisture and mold are always a big issue. I was wondering about your thoughts on azdel siding as opposed to standard wood rv siding. Perhaps we will need to just keep an RV under a roof through our long soggy winters.
We're not of much help with the siding issue. We do our best to keep the moisture down to a minimum and our dehumidifier ( amzn.to/2s8iPok ) has worked wonders. We wish you well through those wet winters. Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
I live full time in Sweet Home Oregon. My dehumidifier handles the moisture just fine. My siding is that solid surface stuff and I've taped reflectix directly to my windows to keep the warm air away from the cold glass, thus preventing condensation in those areas. on two of the windows and the window on my front door, I used the shrink wrap stuff so I can see outside and get some sunlight in. Works like a champ.
Get suggestions!!
Thank you, Shel. We're glad you watched and subscribed.
I use damp rid in my rig....in the closet and have a rechargeable unit in the bathroom ....
Does it work well for you? We have mentioned DampRid, a couple years ago, in a post about reducing moisture in an RV: bit.ly/2sgkFDI Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
