I respect the performers for their resilience. Their show has been sort of a laughing stock ever since the Netflix debut, but they stay composed, go out there and give their best.

@@SergioMendess It's an online trend to heap scorn on and deride Diana the musical. The songs are moving and the characters are developed so their motivations are understood in context of the circumstances in which they find themselves.
The last song brought me to tears when Diana finally freed herself from a loveless and torturous marriage.
Personally, I did not like the show, but I thought many performers like Jeanna de Waal and Erin Davie did well with the material they had. I also liked a few songs like "I Will" and "Pretty, Pretty Girl". I thought those were effective.
I absolutely fell in love with this musical, I've watched it 4 times now. It's just so good!

I love this musical - & yeah...it's campy at times...but it was as crazy as the real things that happened in real life. I read Diana's book the summer before I saw this on Netflix...and 100% of everything in this musical really happened. Diana told it all in her book - the very book(s) people hold on stage in the show.

im sure it makes more sense when you watch it within the context of the whole thing and the lighting helps hide the awkwardness. take any ensemble moment from a show and put it in broad daylight its gonna look weird
This musical, and especially Jeanna de Waal, is so much better than the press coverage. Silly, campy, and heartfelt with some good songs (and some bad ones) and great performances.

This is a beautiful song I wish it was still on Broadway I would have loved to see it!!! I love princess Diana's legacy and life she was such an inspiration to me and the world!! My mom turned this musical on for me I instantly fell in love with it, I don't know why it got taken off of Broadway I'm from Ohio and I would have loved to see it live, I wanted to see it for my 22nd birthday the late Princess Diana has a July birthday at the beginning of the month, I would have loved to see it , only if it was coming to Ohio which is closer than New York, I would have loved to see it on Broadway I would have liked to get some signatures on the back of my shirt or on the play bill itself from Erin Davie Jenna dewal Diana the person who played prince Charles, I would have liked to get their signatures but unfortunately I can't do it now, because it's no longer on Broadway or it's not coming to Ohio I would have loved to see it!! I wish this was still on Broadway. I'm so mad I never got to see it live. Just discovered it. Fantastic, her voice is so powerful, I especially love underestimated.

It reduces her to a cartoon character so I think it probably captures what the public wants her to be rather than the more complex person she probably was. The show even frames her a commoner which she never was.

I agree. Luckily the one on Netflix is like having the best seat in the house. They don't just point the camera - they navigate the show with editing and close ups...yet it is the play.

Put a Glass of clean and pure water (or a Cup 🍵 of Coffee with No Sugar) dedicated to the Spirit of Diana (which is very useful and lost of people use it to their own benefit's) that I can perceive it is very abandoned for those who should really care for her through ❤️. Is this too much to ask??. Love is everything.

Those were both written by Andrew Lloyd Webber, one of the most famous British composers of all time. Diana’s lyrics were written by the pianist from Bon Jovi

I enjoyed it too. I was going to go to New York City; next May a week after my birthday and choose three Musicals. Six, Diana and MJ. Were gonna be my three, but now that Diana's closing :'( I'm going to have to chose another musical !

I wish that she would pick a dialect and stick with it throughout the song lol, it just throws the character when you can't fine tune it (and hold it).
Also, these lines:
"If Charles steps aside and lets my William reign, then all this suffering will not have been in vain" --- Yeah I'm not too sure how well that is going to go down with some people... lol. Also doesn't really fit into the narrative of the score where it is all about choosing your own destiny and future path, but only to then wish that an offspring carries on the tradition to make everything right?
It's just quite poor song-writing, unfortunately.
But it’s true. Diana made several attempts to remove prince of wales from the line of succession. I don’t buy it for one second that she didn’t care about these stuff. After all she was from a very privileged background where your social position is very important. Her father was an earl.

she doesnt change dialect in this song at all. she speaks welsh at some point. i also imagine as any "commoner" turned princess would that she code switches when talking to chazza and lizzy over talking to her friends. and actually allot of people want chazza to step aside although in time theyll also want willy to aswell cus all the royals are a bunt of posho nonces that shouldnt be allowed to pretend to run a country

you mean you dont get how one of the main characters children plays an important role in that characters life? like legit because at the time she could have made willy more caring and hope that whoever him and hazza marry dont get as viciously harrassed and bullied as she did. its foreshadowing and dramatic irony
@@ThePurpleCheesecakeZebra all of that a lot of that drama predates the writing of the show. We don’t see the children impact her life at all in the show they are born and mentioned twice. If the show hinges on her wanting William to be king then we need to establish why William would make a better king
@c17sam90 I agree they missed a crucial part not casting kids. I would have loved to see things through William's eyes. Especially since he was a teen by the time she passed. Broadway tends to shy away from casting kids I can understand in a way with their restrictions and covid, especially, but it fell flat a little for me without William and Harry.

I severely disagree. By all means this isn’t great. But the Great Comet of 1812, Hadestown, Heather’s, and more are masterpieces. Especially Hadestown. Like unironically it is the greatest musical ever made. Please try and listen to at least a couple of the songs.
i mean, we did just go through 3 years where musicals where shut down and trying anything new was risky and allot of people had to leave the industry to stay alive. the only ones left are the rich ones with more money than sense who can put on their fever dream of a show about dancing cats

The only reason “The Great Comet” did not flop sooner, was due to Josh Groban being a huge draw and source of presale tickets. I do not know any who had seen it who actually enjoyed it. As for “Heathers” there is a legitimate reason it was never allowed on Broadway.
