- Chris Badenhorst was brilliant, just brilliant. It's an injustice that he only ever played two tests for the Springboks as he was a sublime finisher with electric pace. He held the South African first class try scoring record for many many years and he is still the greatest try scorer in Freestate rugby history.
A true legend of the game that should never be forgotten. Thanks for the memories Chris!

Chris Badenhorst was a wonderful player over so many years. He had an excellent rugby brain. See his good anticipation, how he follows up and places himself to run into gaps. He would have fitted in well with modern rugby. One of the many excellent rugby players produced by the Free State over the years.
He doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He was a fantastic player. A proper wing that beat defenders on the outside with a great step and blistering speed. I just loved watching him play
I remember Chris Badenhorst very well and being a Province supporter I don't remember him fondly. What a finisher. Were others that much better than him that he didn't get more Bok tests? I was kak scared of this man getting a ball in space

mdjcsmith That was actually the commentator's (Chick Henderson) mistake. The player was Christiaan Scholtz from Tvl and it was the SA 'A' team that played against the Argies in '94
