I'll explain some of the references that you probably wouldn't catch. - 8 represents Jonghyun's birthday, April 8th and she and Sulli were friends for 8 years before Sulli's passing. It's also an infinity symbol. - She opens the song with 'so are you happy now? Finally happy now?', which is in reference to an interview Sulli did in the months leading up to her passing (or maybe it was around her debut with the song 'Goblin'). Sulli was asked about her happiest moment and Sulli replied that she didn't think she had ever been happy. (incidentally the line where I always start to get teary is 'I feel like I lost everything' and by 'if this is what love is like, I don't ever want to love again', I'm in full on hysterical sobs every time. - The cartoon parts represents her dreams and memories, where she can always go back to to see them in happier days. - The lizard/dragon = Jonghyun. Charmander was his favourite pokemon. Sulli is the girl in the white dress on the island. Easily missed on the first watch that this isn't also IU, however the girl on the island doesn't have a mole. - The white dress girl who is representing Sulli is running from something and jumps from the cliff, only to be caught by and reunited with the lizard Jonghyun who has now become a dragon. - if you go back to the beginning of the music video, you'll notice that the lizard never left her, he's watching her from above. I've probably missed some things but I'm tearful again lol sorry!

My favorite IU title track is Palette hands down. It covers the length of her career and is very personal and introspective. The lyrics almost read like a journal entry. For those of us who've grown up listening to IU it was a nice little treat to look back together. Friday is also a really nice track and something I'd want to listen to in a coffee shop. It's very cute and I think the MV is beautiful as well. It's a duet so it's nice to hear another vocal color paired with IU's as well.

If you're looking for ballad like songs, I would recommend Through the Night and Lullaby. Palette is a bit slower as well, and it was the first song that I heard of hers. It's usually always a toss up between her and Taeyeon as my favorite soloist, but you can't really go wrong with either of them!

I would recommend her acoustic versions as well. Her voice is so controlled like it`s just stupid good. she is an amazing artist, a truly creative mind who writes most of her own music. she has worked in multiple famous drama series as well. i think you will love the period piece called Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Baekhyun is also in this drama and they have some cute scenes. its an all big-names cast so the acting is amazing too plus extremely compelling plot, amazing OSTs one done by CBX and Taeyeon.

- She opens the song with 'so are you happy now? Finally happy now?', which is in reference to an interview Sulli did in the months leading up to her passing (or maybe it was around her debut with the song 'Goblin'). My favorite IU title track is Palette hands down. It covers the length of her career and is very personal and introspective. The lyrics almost read like a journal entry. For those of us who've grown up listening to IU it was a nice little treat to look back together.

If you're looking for ballad like songs, I would recommend Through the Night and Lullaby. Palette is a bit slower as well, and it was the first song that I heard of hers. It's usually always a toss up between her and Taeyeon as my favorite soloist, but you can't really go wrong with either of them!

Esp. as you are a songwriter and the lyrics are something I think you'll enjoy as well (you can find them translated online to English in many places). Also BBI BBI for the same reasons. Her live vocals are surprisingly good. She normally sings soft but can go after the high notes, etc. when she wants. 2:55 - we like blue hair too :)

II is an incredible singer and a phenomenal actress ❤️✨ She sang Kyungsoo's It's okay as soon as it was released and said that it's her comfort song. 🤗
She writes and produces her own songs as well. She won both the "Lyricist of the Year" and "Producer of the Year" awards in 2017, among a plethora of other awards that year for her album "Palette". You should definitely react to her other songs, such as "Bbibbi" and "Palette".

1. Her song "GOOD DAY" (2010) was chosen by Billboard Magazine as their favorite kpop song of the 2010's.
2. She was so unknown with her debut, that the first music shoe that would have her on, almost announced her as Mia and the song IU. Mia (aka Lost Child) was the name of her debut release from 2008.

she is an amazing artist, a truly creative mind who writes most of her own music. she has worked in multiple famous drama series as well. i think you will love the period piece called Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Baekhyun is also in this drama and they have some cute scenes. its an all big-names cast so the acting is amazing too plus extremely compelling plot, amazing OSTs one done by CBX and Taeyeon.

in the animated part of 8, she put that in because in an animated word, you can write you're own story and wish to be anywhere you want, in that animated word she's in, it sulli, jonghyun and go hara all together, where they didn't pass away, and are still with her. Also "forever young" means that they all died young meaning they will live young forever.
It always makes me cry whenever I hear her Song Eight its so nice it has deep meaning and it makes my heart aches with no reason

Finally, IU! I was able to attend her concert Love Poem tour in 2019 and it was so so AMAZING every minute and every second of it! As for eight, it still gives me the goosebumps whenever I listen to it. The music sounds happy but looking at the lyrics, it's really heartbreaking. From the theories, Sulli is the girl in white, Jonghyun is the dragon and Hara is the lizard. 💔

I'm soooo stoked seeing you react to IU, I mean at one point I was wondering if you were ever going to react to IU, ultimately I know you will because everyone who dived in kpop must know IU, its just a must as she is Korea's top soloist. She's stayed relevant for 12 years! Killing charts and winning awards. Her fanbase is also no joke, I mean for a soloist to have that massive influence says soooo much about her talent. And unlike other soloist who started with groups before venturing to being solo act, IU has been going solo since the beginning. She holds concerts for 5 hours long, imagine that being a solo act and you do everything on your own. Ahhh I'm just throwing in random blab here but I'm wayyyy too excited to shut up 😆 I just love her so much. Her discography is massive, 12 years worth of music! She is amazing, MOST of her music is not really kpop she is huge on ballads and singing about her life IU writes and produces most of her music now or will co-write/produce. Blueming is upbeat and happy because as you said it tells of two people falling in love over text message. (Grey and Blue chat boxes) Eight was written for those who have lost someone. IU has lost a few friends to cyber bullying and singing is one of the ways she processes these feelings. As far as suggestions, Good Day is her most popular song, I would also check out Lost Child its her debut song and is amazing. More recent anything from her modern days or love poem albums.
i love her and her music! it’s so hard to choose a favorite iu song, some i enjoy the most are lullaby, dlwlrma, bbibbi (which ji u covered in their last online concert), and modern times :)

Please react to BTOB which is a boy group that are so underrated their vocals,raps, and dances are so good but they are still so underrated so please react to them. Bonus fact one of the members of BtoB Yook Sungjea (maknae) was Joy of red velvets husband on We Got Merried and i ship and love them so much!!!( Joy and Sungjae are my both my baias from their groups)
To add: I am so sad that just because of a scandal one of tge rappers of btob whick is ilhoon left the group so the whole group's image will not be affected and they where all together for a very long time now.

Like Blueming in a glance is just a simple song, but the lyrics is full of witty wordplays, and it depicted the text-messaging love relationship beautifully and poetically. Then you have Blueming live too, and the fanchants :D
Eight is a multi-interpretative song, and FYI that pop-rock genre is quite rare for her, maybe she last ventured to pop-rock in 2011 (?). And then she got multiple pop rocks in 2019- now (Blueming, Eight, I-land ...)
You&I and red shoes are older songs (9 and 7 yo) but they're ICONIC! You should check the MVs for these ^^
